I picked this one up because it's a popular release here and every person talks positive about it.
I found in this one some good things and other things I liked less.
The story is indeed interesting. It's a brand new concept and I liked the originality and the idea behind this series. At some point tho, it started to be a little repetitive and the whole story seemed to got stuck on a single mission only, which is to capture our main protagonist.
Now, this was utterly predictable and the part I liked less of the story.
Despite it got my attention, I can't deny that at some point I lost interest thanks to the path it took at some point.
The Darwin Incident was a really interesting read, that was different than any other comic I have read. It makes the reader contemplate about how we treat animals, if humans are superior, if there is hierarchy in nature. I really liked Charlie!
This was some good pulpy sci-fi! It reminded me in the best ways of the Planet of the Apes movie, specifically the newer trilogy. Darwin himself is an interesting lead. He's kind, but has a more objective view on things. He's one of a kind, for best and for worst of it. One of my favorite exchanges is when Darwin confronts another human basically going, "Okay, what exactly makes you human then?" This series so far anyway, is balancing the goofy with the introspective. It reads like a B-movie with a heart, and I respect that! Also, the anthropology references for Darwin and Lucy's names made me happy. Just go with it, it's fun!
I did not expect this to be in black and white. I just expected colour because of the cover. It took me a while to get into it, but the plot was okay, it dragged in sections.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC copy for an honest review.
The Darwin Incident' didn't really hook me, I found the whole ethical/philosophical rants a bit much there was no depths to it just people giving long rantings. The only good thing is the art, it is really well done expressly the action scenes with Charlie our main character a chimp-human hybrid, a humanzee. But I would not recommend it.

Only thing it has going for it is a weird premise and that's about it. Little monkey man going to high school but oh no a vegan terrorist plot. What's going to happen? And that's about it.
