I recently finished reading "House of Arsceneaux" and I'm still reeling from the experience. This captivating novel has left me eager to dive back into the world of Servants of Morrigan: Immortal Creatures. The story is a masterful blend of fantasy, romance, and history, with a rich cultural backdrop that immerses the reader in the world of Creole and Cajun culture.

Caitlin DeDanann is a strong and determined heroine, and her chemistry with Evariste Gage Arsceneaux is undeniable. The way their relationship unfolds, woven together with threads of past and present, is nothing short of mesmerizing. I appreciated how the author slowly revealed the intricacies of their complicated history, keeping me hooked from start to finish.

The supporting cast is equally impressive, with Gage's sisters providing some much-needed comic relief. The world-building is exceptional, blending ancient mythology with modern-day politics and mythology in a way that feels both authentic and imaginative. Novelliere's passion for her craft shines through on every page, making it easy to become fully invested in the story.

While the pacing can be a bit uneven at times, I found myself thoroughly engaged in the story from start to finish. The romance is passionate and intense, with just the right amount of spice to keep things interesting. I loved watching Caitlin and Gage's relationship evolve from tentative truce to all-consuming love.

My only minor quibble is that some of the flashbacks and time-travel elements can be a bit confusing at times. However, a quick re-read of the relevant sections cleared up any confusion. Overall, I'd highly recommend "House of Arsceneaux" to fans of dark paranormal romance and fantasy. It's an original and captivating tale that will keep you turning pages until the very end.

I loved how emotionally intelligent the characters and this book are. Which in retrospect makes it a deeply satisfying and sexy romance, for me.

Fantasy, Dark Romance, paranormal this book has it all. It's a fast paced romance that grips you from the start. I feel this is great book especially if you haven't dabbled in this genre yet. It's easy to follow, the storyline is great and it grabs you from the beginning! I definitely recommend this book.

Caitlin is a recently dumped, overworked, and burn out woman. She looks forward to the time off, but her boss ruins it by sending her on an assignment.

Evariste (vampire) feels guilty over the loss of his wife and a curse that doomed his family over 300 years ago so he throws himself into his work.

I had mixed feelings about the House of Arsceneaux. I enjoyed the first half but it was a little bit slow paced for me. I was confused about what was happening but that is expected when the main character is also in the dark. However, when we started to get answers I had problems with the world building. There were a lot of elements to this world, including paranormal creatures, deities, time travel. It felt like a little bit too much to me and I never really felt like I understood the world. At the same time I wished the book had been shorter. I think keeping the world simpler would have made the story more enjoyable. One thing I did really like about this book was the relationship between Gage and Caitlin. I liked watching them fall in love and learn about the past they shared. I recommend this book for readers who are interested in romance with fantasy and paranormal elements combined.

This book is the first in the series but would be best read after reading the author's other work as they seem to be connected. A prologue at the beginning of this one would have cleared up a lot of confusion for me as a new reader going in blind. I didn't know who or what the characters were or their back story and it left me confused and unable to connect to them for a good chunk of the story.

If The Original’s and True Blood got together this would be the love child.

"House of Arsceneaux" encompasses everything I adore about paranormal romance. It has a little of this and a little of that… all topped with a good dose of Creole cuisine.

The story begins with Caitlin DeDanann who has found herself on the verge of a well-deserved vacation in the vibrant city of New Orleans. However, fate had other plans for her, as an unexpected work project pulled her in just moments before she could board her flight. Little did she know that this project would lead her down a path she never could have imagined.
As Caitlin delved into her new task, she discovered that the CEO she was sent to investigate is none other than Evariste Gage Arsceneaux, a deeply alluring man who immediately captivates her. (Unbeknownst to Caitlin) there was a deeper connection between them….. one that spanned centuries…. Literally.
While Evariste grappled with the astonishing realization that Caitlin is the reincarnation of his long-lost wife, dark forces conspired to tear them apart once again, threatening their newfound connection and the love that transcended time.
As Caitlin and Evariste navigated the crazy currents of their shared past, they find themselves entangled in a dangerous game of fate. Together, they would face ancient secrets, battle sinister adversaries, and discover the true power of their love.

Although the story requires further editing and polishing to ensure a seamless reading experience. There was just some part I believe needed more description and some that had too much. But other than that I truly did enjoy the ride it brings you on. It possessed a distinct charm and uniqueness that I don’t encountered often in my reading journey.

This story had a very interesting foundation. I wish it hadn't gotten rushed to be told in one book. There was a depth lacking and details ignored as it raced to get to the big conflict. I enjoyed some of the interactions with the characters, but a lot of situations were incredibly unbelievable since the reader wasn't given the time to get to know these characters. Caitlyn being as blind as she was while having magic used right before her eyes on multiple occasions was the most egregious of these.

Overall, the story itself had an interesting potential to turn into something greater.

I liked this book alot. I could have done without the medieval portion - although I know it was important to the family's looooong backstory, but it really messed with the pace of the book. The love story itself was great, although the type of vampire he is could have been fleshed out a bit more. Why can he go out in the sunlight? Why can he eat normal food? I gave it 5 stars on goodreads, because overall I liked it.

I’m a sucker for vampire romances (pun intended) as well as reincarnation romances, and this book delivered on both fronts! I’d definitely recommend to anyone who misses the days of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals on the CW.

I took a trip to New Orleans recently, and have been craving books that take me back to the music and food of the Crescent City since. This book definitely scratched that itch. I could see this novel playing out like a movie, transporting me right there.

I struggled a little bit with the pacing, but I think others will enjoy the speed here. I got a little overwhelmed by how quickly everything progressed—a lot happened here! I would have liked to spend more time watching the romance develop and unfold. That said, I think anyone looking for a fast-paced paranormal will really enjoy this!

The storyline is intriguing, but it becomes convoluted. It seems like the author tried to fit too much into one book. The timeline jumps back and forth abruptly, causing confusion, especially considering the numerous characters that were not adequately introduced.

i absolutely loved this story, and how it wasnt a normal take on vampire/immortal love story. The idea behind it, the setting of it being primarily in louisiana, and the different calls to myth made it all the worth reading.

while being a great story, there are some things that made it a little difficult to continue at times or hard to follow. the pace was a little fast in important parts of the plot and then was slower in parts that didnt seem as important. the way the point of view was set up was difficult at times and I couldnt tell who was feeling what, and had me lost a couple of times.

definitely glad i read this as it was very much enjoyable to meet Gage & Cate 🖤

“House of Arsceneaux” is a fast-paced paranormal romance, steeped with ancient history, Celtic mythology, and intertwined with Creole/Cajun culture. The novel follows Caitlin DeDanann, an overworked acquisitions attorney as she gets pulled into a new work project just as she’s about to jet off to New Orleans for a week of vacay. Caitlin gets more than she bargained for when she learns that the elusive CEO she’s been flown in to investigate is none other than vamp Evariste Gage Arsceneaux - a familiar figure who she’s drawn to immediately. While Evariste comes to terms with the fact that Caitlin is his 300-year-old wife incarnate (unbeknownst to her!), dark forces come to play in the bayou of New Orleans, trying to force the pair apart again.

With the help of some friends (aka spiritual guides and a grandmother who’s actually a goddess), Caitlin begins remembering parts of her past and her life with Evariste. She also begins to come into her own powers - just in time for an epic battle between the lovers, their evil vamp enemies and the amassed army, determined to pull the two apart. (Don’t worry - Caitlin’s got some help from her Fae friends, along with the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse…what could go wrong?)

I appreciated the amount of research that went into weaving past with present. The flashbacks and changes of names could have been more confusing but it was done with finesse and provided some important context to the history between the protagonists and antagonists in the story. With as many paranormal entities as this book had (vampires, witches, Celtic goddesses, Horsemen, Fae, etc.), it was done in a way that made sense, surprisingly.

This book was chock full of tropes: Second chance at love, fated mates, workplace romance, star-crossed lovers, time travel, touch her and die. I was there for it all! It also had just enough spice to convey the more intimate nature of Caitlin and Evariste’s relationship - and make the reader realize how their love and connection could survive a 300 year recess. The energy was palpable!

More than just “another vampire romance,” Novelliere’s novel has all the workings of a page-turning paranormal romance that spins modern and past NOLA culture, food, and happy endings into a gripping tale of long-lost love found, rekindled, and never to be messed with again.

Epic, almost historical, tale weaving past and present lives to break a curse and of course defeat evil. Love through the centuries prevails while dealing with vampires, the Horsemen, Morrigan, and layers of secrets that all unfold. More than a vampire story or romance, quite the adventure.
