A sweet story for young children about the former Princess Diana. It starts when Diana was born and talks a little about her family. Her parents divorced when she was young. She lived with her father. She helped take care of her younger brother. She later went to boarding school away from home. When she was older she shared an apartment with some friends. That's when she caught the eye of Prince Charles. I remember getting up early to watch the royal wedding of Charles and Diana along with millions of other people around the world. Diana was much loved around the world. But Charles still had feelings for another woman. Diana developed bulimia because of this. She took good care of her two sons. She became involved in charities that dealt with AIDS and land mines. She and Charles divorced. She still followed her heart to help others and was much loved up until her death.
First of all, I want to thank the author and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Princess Diana by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara is coming out on September 5, 2023.
This is such a cute little series to teach children about important people in history. They did a really good job in summing up into a short book the life of Princess Diana. I read the book to my children and they enjoyed it and left them wondering more about the royal family.

How do you sum up the life of "Princess Diana" in a 32 page book? I understand what the author was doing, I just don't think she was successful in doing it Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the early read in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is such a good little book to let the children know about Diana Spencer.
I heard about this little series but never actually read one, the Diana one was what really sparked my interest.
The story tells her life in a short few pages, somehow it still has a lot of detail. I'm excited to read the rest of them about more important people.
I never live at the same time as Princess Diana but all the stories about her kindness never fail to touch my heart. This was not an exception. I actually learned a few new things from this book and the art is totally adorable.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this short story and even learnt some new things about Princess Diana
"And little Diana never regretted leaving the palace to follow her own path: the path of a true princess who- by opening herself up to others- became a queen in people's hearts."
Another book that you need to add to your Little People Big Dreams collection. The illustrations are beautiful as always. This tells the story of the people's princess and doesn't shy away from sensitive topics, that you wouldn't always typically see in children's books and they were handled very well. This included Diana's struggle with bulimia, her very public divorce and the tole that everything took on her mental health. This book will definitely get children to ask more questions. Especially about finding out more about Diana, more into the royal family and the topics that was discussed.
Thank you Netgalley for a copy of this book for an honest review
How many times can I say I love this series?! But seriously, one of the best series for kids... Interesting and informational, well, written and beautifully illustrated. I really loved this addition to the series and reading about Princess Diana.

if you dont know about princess diana, this is a great place to start, you get a smal look into diana life from birth to death.
This is a great addition to the series.
I’m happy with how they tackled her bulimia. I will definitely be reading this one with my daughter.
What a beautiful person gone too soon!
This was very sweet. It showed the kindness of Diana's heart. It also touched on her mental illness and eating disorder. Parents should be prepared for that. I thought it was a touching tribute to the People's Princess.
Thank you to Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, Frances Lincoln Children's Books, and NetGalley for a digital copy of Princess Diana.
As usual, this is a great new addition to this book series. I will definitely be purchasing this when it is released. I really enjoyed the focus on Diana's kind heart and how well loved she was by the people. I would have liked to focus a bit more on her as a mother. It was pretty detailed on bulimia. I didn't think that was completely necessary. Other than that, I loved it!
This was very sweet. I liked that they tackled the subject of her bulimia in a sensitive way in a way children can learn and understand.
This is a great book to introduce children to Princess Diana! I loved the illustrations and appreciated that the book focused on how Princess Diana touched the lives of many as the "People's Princess." Overall, I think most kids would enjoy the book. Since the book does mention Diana's struggle with eating disorders and depression, I would not recommend this for very young children. Other than that, I think this book is a great way to educate people about a notable figure.
A lovely tribute to 'the people's princess' filled with inspiration and shining a light on all the good she did.
I normally really like these books, I’ve read a few and think their a great way to teach children about important people. But I found the text a bit cold and wasn’t a fan of the illustrations… I would’ve wished for a Princess Diana book to be warmer and friendlier, if that makes sense?
Diana Spencer was an icon of love, compassion and charity, earning her the title the ‘People’s Princess.’
Children will learn that Diana’s caring nature was evident from when she was a little girl, even before she won a prize for being the most caring girl in school. It’s that character trait that gave Princess Diana strength and focus when her world came tumbling down around her in 1992. Rather than focus on what she’d lost, Diana chose to continue to love. She loved people despite their status, health condition, or nationality. Kindness matters. Our children need to read this.
My favourite quote:
“And little Diana never regretted leaving the palace to follow her own path; the path of a true princess who - by opening herself up to others - became a queen in people’s hearts.”
⚠️The topic of bulimia will rise and parents/teachers should be prepared to talk about it with their children/students.
I appreciated that this book doesn’t shy away from eating disorders or divorce; two areas not often covered in children’s books.
The illustrations are fantastic and the book is not overly simplified. Perfect teaching tool in today's world.
I was gifted this copy by Quarto Publishing Group, Frances Lincoln Children’s Books and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.
I admire the way that these books deal with important and difficult topics while still teaching the important lessons found in people's lives.
Princess Diana is the newest addition to the Little People, Big Dreams franchise.
With colourful and interesting illustrations by Archita Kholsa, it's a great introduction for younger readers to the world's most famous princess.
The words are carefully chosen and the book discusses divorce, bulimia, and mental health which are heavy topics that must be sensitively handled - the book does this well.
I really enjoy the books in this series and I was delighted to see that there was a new release – this one being on Princess Diana.
The book covers the main key points in her life, it doesn’t gloss over her bulimia or the relationship that Charles was having with Camilla when he was married to Diana, it also focuses on her role as a mum, which is the one she cherished above all others, and also her role with charities.
The book is well laid out and easy to follow, the only criticism for me is that the illustration of Diana herself doesn’t really look very much like her for me and the image is too generic, it misses her beauty and her eyes and smile that made her so well loved
It is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended!
