This book is great for someone who is going through a rough patch and needs a pep talk. This book gives you tools to work through what life throws at us. I recommend this book to anyone who needs an insightful and informative book.
I really enjoyed reading Terry Keys' new book. The title captures the essence of the book, which is well-written with clear organization and structure. Keys begins with a personal anecdote about his son's dream of playing college football and explores how individuals engage with adversity. Chapter 10, titled "Don't Entrust Your Happiness to the Souls of Others or Things," stood out to me as it helped me re-engage with ideas about happiness and self-worth. One drawback is the informality of the writing style, which can interrupt the flow of ideas. Overall, this book is great for personal development and understanding adversities.
Thank you to #Netgalley for this advanced copy for an honest review.
This book is thought provoking in so many ways. I liked the fatalistic viewpoint that explained how to deal with the unfairness of life. I found myself rethinking things that have happened to me and it definitely helped. This has to be a unique self-help book. A lot of depth. Well done to the author for making the book both interesting and entertaining.
Who can't smile after reading that title?? Sometimes laughter really is the best self-help. This is is a refreshing and thought-provoking development book that challenges readers to think differently about themselves and their lives. It's full of practical advice and insightful stories and is sure to help readers embrace their crazy and live a more fulfilling life.
So I'm not a fan of clickbait titles. That was strike 1 for me. But there are sometimes good points in cheesy asterisked books like The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, so I gave it a whirl. Well. I really don't like books where some white dude tells you the awesome advice he gave to other people. Strike 2. Life is too short and there are too many self-help books out there to spend your time on books that are going to give you strike 3, so I DNF'd.
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a temporary digital ARC and provide my honest opinions.
can come off a little 'peppy' but overall solid advice

Going through a difficult patch? People getting on your every nerve? This book can provide the pep talk and methods to developing new coping strategies.
Chapter 1-4 are what sells this. The author clearly connects with the reader - with his 'been there, done that' story telling.
The chapters that follow dissect multiple situations and help you to gain insights so that you can more easily 'flow' with life. Many chapters end with the "Bottom line" which puts things into actionable take-aways. I personally found the chapters that focused on inputs and outputs as the attitude adjustment and reinforcement I needed to move more toward the flow goal.
One thing to be aware of is that the author is also in the wellness industry. Sometimes the tone is very reminiscent of a fitness trainer and life coach. At times, this detracts from the solid research he has done on the topic at hand. Stick with it... he's got good stuff to say.
Everyone is Batsh*t Crazy by Terry Keys
I originally picked up this book because I thought the title was unique and it really piqued my interest. I'm so glad I did, as I found a lot of the information within this book to be incredibly insightful and helpful to my everyday life.
The author writes in a very informal manner, which I thought was great! The informality stopped me, as a reader, from feeling like I was being lectured by a teacher and instead was just receiving advice from a friend. The inclusion of some of the author's personal stories and struggles was a lovely touch, especially the one about his son which I found to be really touching. The way he relates most of the problems depicted in this book back to real life scenarios really drives home his point and allows us, as readers, to reflect on where we are making these mistakes in our own lives. I also appreciated the level of honesty he has with himself and the readers, as it allows us to really relate.
There are so many great points, tips and stories within this book. I will be taking the time to journal my thoughts on a lot of the issues written about and what new skills I can try implement in my life after reading this. I'm so glad I picked this book up and think it's a brilliant way to analyse your own thoughts/actions in a very critical way. I'm hoping to do the author proud and try to be less batsh*t crazy each day!!
I rated this 4 out of 5 stars.
Thank you to Netgalley and Terry Keys for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Everyone is Batsh*t Crazy
How to Overcome Adversity and Achieve Success in Life
by Terry Keys
I seriously thought the book would be more real. I was not impressed sadlyIT just seemed the same old same"self-help book". Nothing really made me feel this was a real thing.
