Superb! Could not put this down from the first page to the last! Was completely lost in all the characters and I was there with them all in the storm on that rugged Cornwall cliff top, literally holding my breath at times! Annie and Max want to introduce their old friends from London to their new venture down in the wilds of Cornwall - their brand new Glamping site! Dominic Davies has been invited - the well known TV star of a talent show (based on someone literally quite well known I felt!) with his second wife and three children, the youngest, Phoebe, is their child! The eldest girl Scarlet would rather be anywhere than in dull old Cornwall and Phoebe causes trouble between Annie and Max’s troubled adopted son Kip and the over protective and belligerent Dom! Kira and Freddie arrive with their five month old baby but Freddie is not the real father! Susie & Jim add their three children to the mix and what starts out as a fun reunion under blue skies and sunshine quickly becomes a nightmare when children go missing, the handsome young farmhand becomes involved and chaos ensues! The perfect holiday read just don’t expect to leave your lounger!!!!

Annie and Max have moved with their adopted son, Kip, to Cornwall, leaving behind their rich, glamorous life in London to build up a glamping business.
They invite their friends of 20 years for a trial weekend before they officially open for business.
As a storm heads their way, cracks begin to appear in their friendships and relationships. Secrets begin to come to light, someone is missing, and a body is found.
Anger and suspicion run high amongst the group as they are cut off, and no help can get to them whilst the storm runs wild.

Although it was a slowish burn due to the then and now storytelling, I really enjoyed it!
The characters were all well built and believable. The setting was lovely. There was no confusion even with the dual timeline and multiple points of view, and there was a really good, satisfying twist.

I give this book 27 stars! A great read and a great story. Well written and plotted. I read it really quickly and to be honest have just finished it and wanted to get my thoughts on paper. I want the author to write more as soon as they can!

Written from several characters points of view and timelines I found this book one I had to make sure I followed carefully.
There’s a handy who’s who at the start.
I really enjoyed reading this book and didn’t see some of the plot lines coming which is the mark of a food book for me. I read this book quite quickly over a few days as I couldn’t put it down and wanted to read the next section then the next section then the next.

A group of old friends from university meet up for a weekend at the glamping site of one of them. There are tensions from the off. The glamping couple, Max and Annie have an adopted son, Kip, who understandably has issues following an abusive early childhood. Most of the group have an understanding of this but not Dominic who is a tv personality. He and Kip clash right from the start. Then one of the party goes missing.

This is a brilliantly written book. The investigation takes central stage with flashbacks to the weekend and exactly what went on. It's from multiple points of view but is easy reading and compelling too. The characters are well developed. Jim especially, still a stoner in his forties is excellently drawn with all his faults and yet compassion too. The depiction of Kip shows a clear understanding of the damage that early childhood neglect and abuse can cause and my heart went out to him. The plotting is very good and overall this is an exceptional read, Highly recommended.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

The Search Party is a fast paced, multiple POV thriller following university friends and their family as they go glamping but things begin to get dark. I really loved all the characters in this and felt it was actually as lot more realistic than a lot of thrillers out there with, as much as it can be, a realistic plot which keeps you hooked throughout. Although this isn't completely unique I do recommend for any thriller fans.

Gathering once more after years apart, a close-knit circle of old friends embarks on a remote glamping escapade, envisioning a serene and leisurely retreat along the tranquil Cornwall coast. Yet, the idyllic veneer of their plans quickly fractures, laying bare the fault lines within their two decades of camaraderie.

As an impending storm looms on the horizon, rain pelts their tents, mirroring the turbulent emotions that surge among the group. Amidst the tempest, a chilling realization dawns – one of their own has vanished without a trace.

Isolated from the outside world, devoid of any means of communication or escape, they are ensnared in a treacherous predicament. Their predicament takes a grim turn when a lifeless body is discovered, casting an ominous pall over their once-celebratory gathering.

As suspicions mount and trust erodes, the facade of familiarity crumbles, revealing hidden facets of their friends' natures. The labyrinthine plot plunges into the depths of darkness and complexity, weaving together a tapestry of uncertainties. Layer upon layer of revelations unfold, each piece a fragment in the intricate puzzle of 'who knew what when?'

In this masterfully crafted narrative, the allure of mystery and suspense is relentless. The reader is captivated by the intricate web of intrigue, engrossed in a psychological drama of the highest caliber, curated by the skilled hand of the author.

However, while the tale itself shines brilliantly, the digital rendition of the E-Book could benefit from enhancements to ensure a smoother user experience. The addition of navigational chapter links, the elimination of distracting gaps between words, and the incorporation of an engaging cover design would collectively elevate the E-Book from its current document-like semblance to a more immersive and visually appealing reading encounter. As such, a slight deduction from my rating seems appropriate.

This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and I would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

Billed as a destination thriller, The Search Party follows the story of a group of friends who gather for a glamping holiday over a weekend spent in Cornwall. One couple, Max and Annie, have set up this business of their own after moving away from the city with their 12 year old son, Kip, in search of a simpler lifestyle.

Deciding to have a soft opening, the Kingsleys invite some old friends for a dry run before the formal opening of the campsite (glampsite?) The result is a reunion of sorts, with five university friends and their families getting together after quite some time.

Unfortunately, time and distance do not necessarily heal all wounds, so the unresolved tensions that lie beneath the surface of their relationships gradually begin to emerge. The conflict is initially triggered by an incident that takes place between the children, but fault lines quickly begin to appear among the adults.

When a powerful storm hits, and the group is cut off from outside assistance, one person disappears, and you have the perfect ingredients for a locked room thriller.

This is an atmospheric novel, with good writing and realistic characters. While the fundamental premise of the story is one that has become a familiar trope these days, Richell does a terrific job of telling a gripping story from multiple viewpoints. And perhaps most impressively, she follows through with a satisfactory ending. Recommended.

I was keen to start this, even though the premise was one that I'm very familiar with by now. It seems every other thriller is old friends reunited in a remote location and someone gets murdery but u have to say, this book was definitely up there with some of the best I've read with that premise! It's got multiple povs and timeline jumps, but it's dine in a way that's very easy to follow and keep up with. The characters are brought to life so vividly and I loved how realistic and rational the entire plot was. It wasn't one of those books where half it does make sense and the other half is just abnormally far fetched, this all felt entirely possible with kept me hooked til the end. Definitely worth a read

Took a little bit of getting into with all the characters and working out who was who.
Five best friends meeting up to have a glamping weekend with their spouses and kids. A terrible storm is approaching and who can you really trust?

Thank you NetGalley, Storm publishing & Hannah Richell for an advanced copy of this book.

Five friends reunite for a glamping holiday in a storm. It becomes a rediscovery journey, how well they know each other and themselves. Fascinating deep dive into what drives us and how well we know ourselves. Secrets, intrigue, a mystery thriller and a body... Captivating read.

Five old university friends and their families, a new glamping site opened by one of their number and secrets from the past and present all collide in this weekend from hell.
As the weather turns nasty so does the tension in the group and one incident sets of a chain of events resulting in death.
Who did this and why in this tense and utterly gripping thriller unfolding to reveal each families dynamic and what if anything, they had to do with recent events.
Brilliant!

I absolutely loved the author's previous novel The River Home and so was thrilled to have the opportunity to read and review The Search Party.
Annie and Max have recently relocated from London to the Cornish coast with their 12 year old son Kip to set up a glamping site, They invite their old friends Dom, Kira, Jim and Suze along with partners and children for a weekend to test the site and are soon hit by a storm that cuts them off just as a member of their party goes missing.
I really enjoyed The Search Party, the author excels at characterisation and relationships and all of the characters are beautifully drawn. The Cornish landscape is a large part of the novel and the descriptions are atmospheric and immersive. The tension builds slowly and is maintained throughout the novel as the author reveals secrets and the identity of the missing person. I loved the sensitive portrayal of Kip and his adoptive parents Annie and Max and was pleased that the author did not fall into a stereotypical portrayal of an adoptive child which I've experienced in other novels. This was a beautifully written novel that I would recommend.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this digital ARC.

A Perfect Storm..
Five old friends, their families, a glamping weekend and secrets and lies combine for the perfect storm in this utterly compelling novel of suspense. The signs are there from the off as the group meets up on the Cornish coast and as the weekend progresses things will only get worse - culminating in a storm which leaves the group entirely cut off from the outside world. Will everyone make it out alive? Beautifully written and well constructed, the author keeps her own secrets as the reader is left hanging from a thread of suspense throughout. The cast of characters is deftly crafted and wholly credible and the plot utter perfection, the setting well drawn and believable whilst the narrative maintains an underlying thread of menace. A one sit, anxiety ridden, rollercoaster ride.

What a book! Couldn’t and didn’t want to put this book down. Beautifully written with great descriptive narrative. But what makes this book is the characters . The author has done an amazing job of bringing each and everyone of them to life, especially Kip. Set from multiple points of view going back in forth in time but done just a little bit different from the norm. This is an absolute gem of a book a 5⭐️ read and then some

This a book and a half, well written, suspenseful, deceitful, old friends still after 20 years, but the question that gets asked, who are these people really? Friends? Doubtful.

A very enjoyable read with lots of twists and turns.

My heart went out to Kip and his adoptive parents.

Stardom does not give you the right to insult others that may have paved your way to glory.

Thank you for giving me the chance to read this book NetGalley.

A fun read.
When a group of old friends reunite for a remote glamping holiday, they think they're in for a relaxing long weekend near the Cornwall coast. But it's only a matter of time before their twenty years of friendship starts to crumble. A storm approaches and as rain lashes against their tents, they realise one of their party has disappeared.
There's no phone signal, no way out and no one is coming to help – and it's not long before a body is found. Do they really know what their friends are capable of?
Ending was great.
Thanks to NetGalley and Simon Schuster for giving me an advance copy.
