Summer Knowles (aka the Evil Twin if you have read the other books in the series) has sworn off men, as they have upended her life in the past with rippling repercussions. Archie Hill (Golden Boy) is a Player with a capital P who doesn't intend to ever settle down. Summer's twin sister Winter and her husband to be are hosting a week long wedding party at a luxurious hotel in the Napa region, throwing Summer and Archie in to each other's orbit as bridesmaid and best man respectively. Sparks fly when the two meet and of course an inevitable week of sneaking around happens...but what will happen at the end of the week?
This book is probably best read after The Love Theorem and Love Quest to avoid spoilers, although the back story is well explained. I liked that Summer got her own story after featuring in the previous two; this is a good, light, summer read. This book was previously published as You May Kiss The Bridesmaid and does seem to have benefited from an extra epilogue.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the review copy.
I love Archie and Summer. Their flirty friends with benefits was a delightful read. Summer was a great character who went through the emotions, dealing with the aftermath of her scandal and finding a guy worth keeping. Archie was the biggest flirt there is, I love how he just takes care of Summer without even realizing his feelings. Adorable.
The Love Proposal is book # 6 in the First Comes Love series (You may Kiss the Bridesmaid). This story revolves around Summer and Archibald. He's a groomsman at his best friends wedding, and she's the twin sister of the bride. For those if you that have read the earlier books in the series, Winter and Logan are getting married. Summer has not had a great reputation from the previous novels. I can say, I did feel differently about her after this novel. That being said, the book is somewhat predictable. I am a fan of Camilla Isley books. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this one as much as her others in the series. I have rated this book 3/5.
A sincere Thank you to NetGallery and the Publisher for the ARC of this book in exchange for a honest review.
The premise of this book was cute, sister of the bride and best man decide to be friends with benefits over the week of wedding festivities. Unfortunately, it was just really formulaic to me and I’m not the biggest fan of insta-love. I can see why others would enjoy it though.
Thanks as always to NetGalley for the ARC.
Please note that this title was originally published as You May Kiss the Bridesmaid.
This was an simple, predictable read. The entire plot focuses on two adults sneaking around in a hotel during a destination wedding.
I did not enjoy this book in the series at all. I hated the MFC from the start, I could not get past her cheating on her best friend with her best friend’s boyfriend. I wish this was not such a vital part of the plot.
This has a HFN, not a HEA.
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.
I'm not typically a fan of insta-love/insta-lust romances, but The Love Proposal wasn't that bad. Summer is attending her sister's wedding where pretty much everyone hates her, and Archie's offers himself up as a distraction from all of that. It was certainly a cute premise, but was a bit rushed for me.
This is the third in a series. It can technically be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the first two in the series first. This book is Summer and Archie’s story.
This book takes place during the week of Winter and Logan’s wedding. Summer is clawing her way back from her fall from grace in book one. Archie is still the same flirty man who is not interested in relationships.
This story is about accepting mistakes, working to correct them, and forgiving yourself. I think it succeeds. It is also about figuring out what you want in the future, while not quite as successful (this was a little rushed) I still really enjoyed it. In the previous books, I always wanted to know why Summer did what she did. What led to it? Why didn’t she stop? This book successfully describes what happened and how she quests for redemption … and although she can never make up for what she did, Summer works incredibly hard to deserve forgiveness and a happy present/future.
I loved all the cameos, but bartender Mark might have been my favorite unexpected one! Looking forward to the next book in the series!
TW: judgement about past mistakes, discussion of IVF.
Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an arc of this book.
This. Book. Was. Fabulous.
The first story I’ve read by Camilla Isley, it certainly will not be my last.
The Love Proposal was a unique twist on a wildly known trope of bridesmaid/groomsman stories and throughout the book, I felt myself identifying with both Summer and Archie. I love that Camilla didn’t shy away from tough topics like infidelity, and how her characters navigated them with grace and tact.
*Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for sending an arc in return for my honest opinions.

Insta lust/love
The Love Proposal was a cute, fast paced insta lust/love story. It follows Summer, who is attending a week long trip for her sisters wedding, and Archie, the best man.
Summer is having a hard time as pretty much all the guests at the wedding dislike her (her own fault), and so Archie offers to spend the week "making her forget her own name".
Whilst I enjoyed this book, it fell a little short for me. I felt that the story could have expanded past the week they were together, which would have allowed for a more believable love story. Archie wakes up with another woman in his bed on the same day he offers a week long tryst to Summer, yet it only took a week for him to reevaluate his entire life to be with her.
This book can be read as a standalone, but I think anyone reading would benefit from reading some of the previous books in this series, particularly Winters story (Summers twin sister) and Lanas (the maid of honour)
I fell in love with this book - read it in one day. I could not put it down. A cute romcom filled with humour and romance - perfection.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.
Finally I see from Summer POV as a woman who was cheating with Lana's boyfriend (Johnathan).
In this novel, we can see how struggle Summer is, after the world despise her since she had affair with Johnathan. She also affraid to face the reality and her friends, especially when her twin (Winter) ask her to be brides maid in Winter's wedding.
In the middle of her assignments as brides maid, she met Archie, who is a bestman in Winter's and Logan's wedding. Summer finds Archie is good distraction to forget her reality. In other sides, Archie finds Summer is physically attractive for his "partner sex" during the ceremonial. And the story goes on....
I like this book because Archie's flirty character is made me laugh. Although, I am a bit dissaipointed because he never want to commit into marriage and choose to be "player" who often switch his sex partner. Above all, he's a charm and always gentle towards women.
And Summer, even I dislike her at first, I can start to forgive her, after I know what she had been through and she take the lesson from her mistakes. I mean, nothing worse than being despise by her friends and family, plus Johnathan slander her in front of media interviews by saying "Summer tempted him first", which make the world also judge her. Her mental is drained enough, I guess.
The story itself is quite good with humor that suited me. Although there're few plot hole which I expect to be dug deeper by author.
Since this book was entertaining me, I don't care about it flaws and give full stars rating.
Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for the ARC! Can't wait other Camilla Isley's books in the future!
Firstly thank you to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me an ARC of this book.
I demolished this book in one sitting. A cute, almost instalove story with some of my favourite tropes. I don’t want to give any spoilers away but it deals with a great topic that a lot of women have to face. I wish we were able to learn a bit more about the two main characters to make them who they are, especially the MMC but overall a charming read.

My Review:
As with every single Camilla Isley book I’ve read, this was a fun and entertaining read, I adore her clever wit and wry humor. Her writing is crisp, engaging, and easy to fall into. I enjoyed the amusing storylines as much as I did the characters; they were a feisty and smart bunch with snappy banter and undeniable chemistry while indulging in a secret and red-hot fling during a destination wedding in wine country.
