When Sam Reynolds first discovered what her father did for a living, it was an eye-opener to say the least. Not one to shy away, she decided to follow in his footsteps. Along the way, she met Seb Stoker from a rival family. Together they have made themselves an unstoppable force. Over the series, the lives of Sam, Seb, family, friends, acquaintances and enemies have all been wrapped in together. The two of them are well-matched, but things are going to get more tense in this story than they have ever been before.

Family come in all shapes and sizes and with different temperaments and personalities. Marina is not the same as Sam, but she does have ruthlessness to her. Seb has his brothers and even they are going to be stretched to breaking point if they are not careful. Tina is trying her best, Linda still has work to do and Vera is waiting to put things to rest. In case you may have not realised, this book marks "the final encounter" and the author has pulled all the stops out for this book.

She has woven characters and storylines into and around each other. There have been strands and threads left tantalisingly to be pulled together. How this is done for this story is brilliant. It does make it a more complex story compared to some of the other books, but my goodness it is done so well! With so many things being juggled and characters that had to have their say, the author has worked wonders.

This is a gangland thriller and there is a certain sense of loyalty and family is important. Family is something that has been a focus of the story and it is more prominent in this one as everyone is being caught up and being pulled like puppets by other characters. It really is a story that leaves you breathless, well it did me as I was racing through the book to find out what was going to happen.

With gangland crime, you are going to get some brutality at some point. Yes, you get it in this book and it is indeed brutal, but also in keeping with how the characters have developed over the previous books. This is where I am going to say that yes, you really should read this series in order as there are some references that go back to the first book that are finally acknowledged and brought out in the open in the story.

A fabulous book, fabulous series and if you love gangland crime and thriller then I would definitely recommend it.

Book 5 in the Allegiance series finds Sam on the brink of marriage to Seb Stoker. It can be read as a stand alone, it has good characterisation, it's action packed and a great crime thriller. A very good gangland thriller which I would recommend to lovers of the genre. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

Sebastian Stoker and Samantha Reynold are back and this is their hardest challenge yet.
This is a great gangland series dark and gritty which is very well written.
I've loved the way the character Samantha has grown throughout the books and the ending that left us in no doubt that love always wins.
Really sad this is the end of this series but looking forward to whatever Edie Baylis has planned for us next.
Thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC.

Oh wow, this is another incredible book by this author. She really is one of my favorite gangland crime writers without any doubt. This is gangland crime with a capital g!

Gangland families are cruel and vicious people, but only to those who do them wrong. If you touch one of their own, you may as well start to write your obituary, because if there is one certainty in life it's that you will die.

If you are lucky they make it quick. If you are not they will make it last and you will die a very slow and painful death.

If you are part of their (extended) family, they will climb the highest mountain, cross the deepest ocean and walk on broken glass for you. They are not bad through and through. They have a rock hard shell to protect their heart of gold.

They don't believe in justice provided by the system. The only police officers they trust are they ones they have in their pocket. An eye for an eye is their motto.

I cannot help but like a lot of gangland families. In a way they often rid the world of lowlifes who would otherwise slip through the meshes of the net because the police are bound by rules. Gangland families live by their own rules.

I am going to miss Sam, Seb and the rest of their gang.  5 stars

Thank you (review for the blog tour)

Boom!!!! The Allegiance series book five.
What a cracking read.
And only one can survive.

Sam Reynold and Seb Stoker are both organising their wedding and keeping the pregnancy under wrapped they want everything to be perfect with no hick ups.
With their business together flowing nicely Seb can't help been over protective of Sam and the baby.

I am loving this series and all the characters, and this book is a big added bonus to this amazing series that will make you hooked and it's unputdownable all the way through.
Loved it and every single book is different but without a doubt this one is my favourite.

leaving the dynamic end with 5 Stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this eARC.

I've been eagerly awaiting this final book in the authors Allegiance series and wow, what a thrilling and entertaining read this is. All is good for Sam and Seb Stoker who have their future to look forward to. But is everyone happy for them though? The author has really done her job with this series in creating the most vile, loathsome character I hated from the start and I for one can't wait for them to get their come uppance. This is a very well written book which flows easily, has a good plot line and in my opinion the pacing is perfect. I enjoyed that the story is told through the individual characters and from their perspectives, and think the author gave the series good closure. In the genre of gangland thrillers, Edie Baylis is one of the best authors around. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book and series and don't think readers will be disappointed.
