It's a well written and emotionally charged story of two sisters, their relationship and the unconfortable thruth that could distance them again.
Well written and poignant.

I really enjoyed reading #TheLie, by Mary Chamberlain, telling the story of Joan and Kathleen, their lives and loves but also the heartbreak and sorrow they both have to live with. The dual timelines and settings were all so evocative of the time and place and the underlying tension was so well done. But it was how she writes about the relationships between mothers and daughters, the choices women had to make, be they good or bad, and the stark reminder of how difficult life was for women at the time that makes it so readable and poignant.
