I absolutely love this author and thoroughly enjoyed the whole of the ‘Comfort Food Café’ series. So when I saw this book i jumped at the chance to read it and i was definitely not disappointed - it was perfect in every way!

This was such a heartwarming, feel good story and i devoured it up very quickly.

The village setting is beautiful and very scenic and gave me a perfect escapist read and the sense of community there too was wonderful and i loved getting to know all of the characters.

Overall, this was a fun, sweet, romantic read, set in the perfect place and left me with a very big smile on my face…….

A heartwarming story that will tug at your heart and pull you in from the beginning.
What a gorgeous setting as well.
I feel like this should have been made into a Hallmark movie it was so good!
Wonderful characters like Ella, George and Connie.
I found myself smiling the whole way through because of the light banter displayed in this book. Other places I simply laughed out loud.
For example, George talking to Ella;
“Well, you were a blessing today, Ella,” he says, patting me on the shoulder. “It would all have been very different without you. I wouldn’t have known what to do, and Connie here would probably have just wafted a croissant under his nose and hoped it brought him round. You have a gift, and it was a privilege to see you use it.”
This was one of the scenes that made me giggle.
A very well written novel with realistic challenges and characters with flaws that I enjoyed very much!
I really enjoyed getting to know Ella. I felt like she was a friend from the get go.
I also loved the small town feel as I grew up in small town myself.
5 stars for keeping me engaged throughout this funny, cute and fun read. I highly recommend!

A beautifully written book set in a magical location. The characters had be gripped from the start. The description of the cove was perfect, I could picture myself there. A great read and I will look forward to reading more from Debbie Johnson

Once again Debbie Johnson has given readers a delightful, feel-good & heart-warming book to immerse ourselves in. A thoroughly enjoyable storyline populated by believable & fully-formed characters. The story held my interest from beginning to end and was I ust what I needed to warm up a cold & damp English summer.

As a long time fan of Debbie Johnson’s books , in particular the Comfort Cafe series. I was looking forward to reading Debbie Johnson’s latest book. I wasn’t disappointed. This book is beautifully written, with engaging characters and a magical location. I was drawn into this book from the start. Ella’s story this time , and an introduction to the other characters in the community.
A fantastic read which I would highly recommend. Starshine Cove and the wonderful community which surrounds it has the makings of being on a par with the comfort cafe series .

I was totally enchanted by this book. Ella’s story really touched me and had many aspects that were easily identifiable, feeling lost, anxious and burnt out. Running away some times does feel like the best and only coping mechanism at times.
Starshine Cove was described perfectly, I loved the was Ella found it and all the fairy signs and that magic cave, I really wish I could see it. Learning about all the characters, all that appear to have perfect idyllic lives from the outside but their stories are heartbreaking, but seeing the positive and having a support network really works, Ella finds out. Jake is a great guy too, he is so patient and supportive of Ella, even when she’s pushing him away. And Larry the weresheep was just perfect companion she needed. I really hope we get to go back to Starshine Cove again soon.

Debbie has given us another great read in this summertime, beachy type read. After a betrayal and then driving off to pastures new Ella arrives in Starshine cove and it was the best thing she could have done.. A lovely easy read and a real pleasure to have done so. Well worth 5 stars. Well recommended.

I had never read anything by Debbie Johnson, but will seek out more books now. This was one of those novels that hooked me in from the beginning and had me invested in Ella's wellbeing from the start. Starshine Cove sounds like a wonderful place and its residents are warm and welcome Ella with open arms.

Gorgeous warm hearted easy reading. Perfect for a holiday read, or for a break from everyday life and work!!
Ella is exhausted by life and work over the last few years as a doctor in various health centres. When she comes home unexpectedly one evening and finds her husband with someone she is shattered, but not heartbroken by his betrayal, grabs some belongings and takes his car for a break on the south coast. After a few weeks of motels and motorways her car breaks down and she finds herself in a magical area of Dorset, by a beautiful beach, where she finds healing and herself again.
Great characters, an absolute joy to read, and living in Dorset myself I want to go there!!!! It sounds perfect!!
