If I could give this book 10 stars out of 5 I would do it in an instant, it is a well written, important and much needed handbook of how to be a good guy that should be in every secondary school library in the land. Bissett writes in a conversational style that feels like he’s talking to every boy that reads it, not accusing, very positively giving young men strategies for avoiding poor behaviour towards women themselves and helping them challenge their friends too. I find I don’t have the words to express just how vital I think this book is - it needs to be put into the hands of as many teenage boys as possible.

So, I feel very strongly that books like this need to go into schools and libraries...urgently. Informative, important yet not patronising, written with humour in an accessible way. Alan writes to men everywhere about how women truly aren't to blame for their frequently shocking actions -backed up with pretty bleak figures and anecdotes from men and women. He gives his readers advice, to frankly stop being (literally) sad Percy w*nkers and treat women how they deserve to be treated.

This is a title that I am hoping will really engage a number of our male students in the next academic year. A super accessible but impactful read that, put in the right hands, has the power to change the thinking of so many young people
