I have read Jenevaโs thriller books so I was excited to see her switch genres and see if she could pull off a rom-com.. and I was pleasantly surprised. I did end up guessing the ending pretty early on, but I donโt feel like that ruined my reading experience. This book is about Peyton, who is suffering from amnesia after getting hit by a car on the way to profess her love to someone, She spends the book trying to find out who she was on her way to see. While dating the 3 men who show up at the hospital saying theyโre her boyfriend . I thought it was a refreshing book for the rom-com genre. This was a quick and enjoyable read!
This was a fun and entertaining read! This story follows Peyton who suffers from amnesia after being hit by a car on her way to tell the man she loves that she loves him. So when she wakes up at the hospital, there are three men there by Peyton's side, all claiming that they are dating her. So which one of this men are the one she really loves?

I just loved Peyton's best friends Maya and Robbie! They were so hilarious and wonderful. This book feels like a warm cozy hug and had very relatable characters. For being Jeneva Rose first romcom I have to say that she did a really good job. I have loved her thriller "You shouldn't have come here" and I'm excited to see if she will continue writing more romcoms. But I can really recommend this one if you want a quick, funny and easy romcom.
This is my first book by this author.
I think it is well written, and I loved the characters. They are unique and well fleshed out.
However, I DNFโd it about half way through because I had figured out the ending about 50 pages in.
I would like to try one of this authors thrillers though, because I loved her characters and wicked sense of humor!
Thank you to Montlake and Netgalley for providing me with an ARC of this book to read and review.
It's an entirely implausible situation but this is also a fun read thanks to the characters. Peyton, hit by a car and suffering from amnesia, has no idea which of the three guys who turn up at her hospital room is the one she loves. So what does she do? She, along with her pals (love her friends) work their ways through the trio to see which is the real deal. No spoilers from me. She's one lucky woman to have such good friends. Thanks to netgalley for the arc.
Most people know Jeneva Rose for her thriller reads, but I'm so excited she fnally came out with a rom com! I really enjoyed the book. Peyton wakes up from a coma with amnesia. She can't remember anything about her life but when she was told she was going to find the man she loved when she got hit by a car she decides she has to find him...again. Except there is one problem, she was dating 3 men at the time. So now she had to figure out who it was on top of getting her memories back!
I found the story interesting about the idea of amnesia. I feel like it was such a plot point for my generation growing up, but rarely do I see anything amnesia related topics in the present. Her support system and secondary characters were so well done. I liked those three more than the 3 men! I did have some qualms. You have to suspend some disbelief here and I had a hard time with it. In the first part it was instances like this "Peyton has amnesia but still knows her make up routine the minute she gets home," where did the amensia draw a line. It was a bit wonky for me. I also often found myself saying "how does she know x but not y" Secondly it was the fact that Peyton had 3 boyfriends. Now I live in Chicago, and I am single and actively dating, never have I found one never the less THREE "perfect" boyfriend's like her three men. They all wanted to be exclusive, but she told them no and they didn't care they all continued to date her. It seemed really unrealistic. Lastly its that this crazy thing just happened to you and your first instinct is to keep dating them and find who you love, but by adding a deadline and oh by the way if you let go of the wrong one you'll never find love again!
Unfortunately the reason I didn't rate this book higher, even though I thoroughly enjoyed it was that I guessed pretty quick that there was a 4th mystery man she wasn't privy to and then also figured out who it was not far after. So at this point all I was doing was reading to figure out how she found out. I would have loved to see a chapter or two from his perspective because I found that thought line a little more interesting. Thanks to the publisher for the ARC in return for an honest review. This book releases 10/24
This was my first time reading a Jeneva Rose book since her previous works are not my preferred genre.
I was intrigued by the synopsis. Peyton was on her way to tell a guy she loved him back, but she ended up in an accident and woke up with amnesia. Three guys showed up at the hospital all claiming to be her boyfriend. Her friends Robbie and Maya decided to help her figure out which one was her soulmate.
I was skeptical as to how nonchalant she was about the whole situation, from quickly trusting her friends whom she didn't remember, to going on dates with three strangers. I could also tell who her mystery guy was from the beginning, so it was all a matter of waiting it out till she figured it out.
It was an quick and easy read! Thank you to Netgalley and Publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This had me laughing out loud multiple times!
Peyton is on her way to tell someone she loves them when sheโs struck by a car and goes into a coma. After she wakes up, she has amnesia and three men show up declaring theyโre her boyfriend. As she re-dates them, she has to rediscover who she was.
This was so cute, funny and fast! While the ending choice wasnโt at all a surprise, the funny friend group made me laugh so hard!
As my son would say, โ10/10.โ I have always loved Jeneva. Thank you for this ARC. Itโs not your typical Jeneva Rose story, itโs cute and quirky. Great storyline. I was hoping who I thought was the number one choice, was it! A little jealous Scott got a shoutout. I will always think of this book now when I find a penny.
Very solid 4 stars
I was a little nervous to pick up this book by Jeneva Rose... we know she can do suspense/thriller but romcom?! But I'm happy to report that, yes, Jeneva CAN execute a cute romcom (with no murder!). :)
It's a Date (Again) was cute and light hearted. I fell in love with Peyton, the main character but my favorite is Debbie - her next door neighbor (and guardian angel). The twist was a little predictable but I loved the twist (it was what I was rooting for all along), so I'm here for it. If you are looking for a quick, happy, lighthearted romcom I would recommend picking up It's A Date (Again)!
Thanks, Netgalley for the ARC of this book!
Peyton finally figured out who she loves. Unfortunately she is on the brink of losing him and has to tell him how she feelsโฆlike now. As she runs to try to catch him, she is struck by a car. When she wakes from a coma in the hospital after 4 days, she cant even remember her best friends, let alone the three men that arrive and all claim to be her boyfriend. Now she must date them all again to find out who she was running to declare her love to.
Did I start this book when I got into bed for the night? Yes. Did I stay up way too late finishing it? Yes, yes I most certainly did. I just could not stop reading this book! While I did figure out who it was pretty early, this book was a joy for the entire ride! Jeneva, what have you been doing not writing rom coms this entire time! Seriously, woman is a force to be reckoned with! (Donโt worry, you are too Drew, past tense of Draw. Not you, Scott.) I loved every second of this book and highly recommend it!
A fun rom-com about a woman with amnesia who has to choose between three men that she was dating prior to her accident. Although I knew from the moment he appeared on the page who her final choice would be, it was still an enjoyable and ridiculous ride from start to finish. The characters are well-developed and the story is quite heartwarming. I hope Rose considers a few spin-offs with some of the side characters. Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for a digital review copy.
I love Jeneva's writing and was not disappointed by her romcom book. This is the first one of her romcom's I've read. She is has a great love story written in this book and the characters did not disappoint. The book was a quick read and I think book clubs will enjoy reading and discussing this book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the advanced copy of It's a Date (Again) in exchange for my honest review.
I unfortunately decided to DNF this one about 18% in. I predicted where the story was going to go (thanks to another early reader for answering this for me!) and I had a hard time with the female main character's best friend.
Nevertheless, I adore Jeneva Rose and will plan to read whatever she writes again in the future.
NetGalley is the only retail site I will be leaving a rating on as I don't feel it's fair to rate books I haven't finished.
This was a pleasant surprise to see a softer romance side by this author. I really enjoyed the change in genre, and would read more of them in the future!
I already knew Jeneva Rose was the queen of thrillers, but she really knocked it out of the park with this rom-com novel. First of all, her little opening remark to the readers made me laugh...don't skip over that page. The story itself was cute, main character Peyton has a life altering realization of who she is in love with...and then proceeds to get hit by a car and wakes up with all of her memories totally gone. Three suitors all show up to the hospital claiming to be her boyfriend, leaving her and her closest friends and chosen family to help her get her memories back and figure out who she had fallen in love with.
The characters in this story were so well done. They all felt so familiar to me, and developed so well. It didn't necessarily remind me of "Gilmore Girls", but reading this story with this cast reminded me of the comfort and feeling I get watching that show. I would LOVE to read some spin off stories about so many of the characters introduced. The humor was on point. I follow Jeneva on social media, and she is absolutely hilarious, so it is no surprise that she knocked it out of the park with the comedy part of the rom com. And of course, the romance part of this was exactly what I love in a rom-com book. All the sweet, gushy moments that make you picture yourself in the characters shoes, without it being too over the top and gross. As a suspense reader, I enjoyed the mystery aspect to the book. Even though it isn't too hard to figure out who Peyton is in love with, I did like the formatting and journey watching her figure out her life and who she loves. Another homerun for Jeneva, romance, suspense....I'll read it all from her.
Thank you, NetGalley and Montlake for this advance copy in exchange for my review.
I absolutely adore Jeneva's writing and was excited to see that she had written a rom-com.
This did not disappoint! She is now the official queen of crossing over genres.
It's a Date (Again) was a super quick read, very fast paced and absolutely adorable.
I really rooted for the characters love story the entire time, and the ending was perfect.
This is a super quick, cute little rom com! Jeneva Rose can definitely write across genres, as she does both thrillers and romance well. I definitely knew who the MC was in love with the entire time, but it was fun to read about her dates and mishaps with other guys as well. I did find the best friend Maya to be kind of annoying ๐
also, I kept picturing Robbie from New Girl while I was reading ๐ I also want a Nash sequel immediately, please and thank you.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for the opportunity to read before pub day on October 24th!

This book is Jeneva Roseโs transition from thrillers and into the romance genre. After previously loving her thrillers, I was ready to read something that had more chemistry in it from her, especially after this dedication.
โFor my thriller readers, heads-up, there is no murder in this book. I tried adding one in, but apparently โitโs not typical for the genre.โ So prepare to swoon insteadโbecause Iโll make your heart race one way or another.โ
In this book, Peyton is hit by a car on the way to tell a man she loves him. After being in a coma for four days, she wakes with amnesia. Her friends, Maya and Robbie, are there to support her, and then enters three extremely gorgeous men, each claiming that theyโre her boyfriend. One she loves. Oneโs a liar. And thereโs only one way to figure it all out. Date them (again)!
This romance relies on romance tropes, but also makes fun of itself due to these tropes, bringing a lighthearted tone to the forefront of the story. Readers can expect amnesia, multiple dating, sharing one bed, and a marriage pact to enliven them when they read this.
Out of all the characters, Debbie, Peytonโs landlady and guardian angel, is my favourite. Whilst the supporting characters of Peytonโs friends feel like a convenient plot tool rather than an organic connection, Debbie is the character that I believed in the most. Which is rather unfortunate as the novel wasnโt about her.
As much as I love the amnesia cliche, I think itโs difficult for an author to write a character with no memories and expect readers to relate to them, because thereโs no experiences to refer to, Peyton has to be told her likes and dislikes from her friends and it makes the main character come across as bland, even though something extraordinary has happened to her. Peytonโs sole purpose of this novel was to date three guys and figure out the one she loves but I do prefer characters with a bit more substance than that.
I think the plot was extremely contrived and predictable, but it was still an enjoyable romantic adventure that was fun, heartwarming, and easy to read. Whilst I hoped this would be a spicier version of Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella and my hopes were ultimately dashed, I would read more romance by Jeneva Rose.

I have been a fan of Jeneva Rose's books, and this was a great transition into the romantic comedy genre. Some parts were predictable, but it was a lighthearted and enjoyable read full of moments that will make you laugh and smile. I usually don't read romcoms, but I am so glad that I gave this one a try. As a mystery/thriller lover, this book still had some light mystery elements. The story draws you in and the pacing keeps the reader engaged. This book is for romcom fans who enjoy easy, light romance, with elements of humor and drama. 3.5 Stars!
This was a fun read and I really liked the idea behind it. For a first romance book I was pretty impressed I've read her thrillers before and they're good but I think I liked her writing in this genre better. I enjoyed all the characters and found them to be charming (mostly) and relatable. I would continue to read more romances from her and would for sure recommend this one. I want to thank NetGalley and Montlake for the digital arc in exchange for an honest review.
