Me and my children read this book. With all the fun bird characters within. It's about a seagull that different than the others. He want to dance like the famous Sky does. However the community want him to work instead. So he decided to try dancing.
This was a fun story to read. It had action and adventure throughout. It also had a few giggles within. The illustrations were colorful.
I received a complimentary copy via Netgalley. This is my honest unbiased opinions.
Seaguls Got to Dance is the second book in this series, and we have enjoyed both of them. This is a cute story where the seagull siblings attend the season's opening address by the seagull leader, Sky. It is rather boring until the Seriously Seagull dance troupe under their leader Tony de Beak, fly in to perform a dance and Seb is hooked. Seb dreams of being a dancer, so he practises and practises, even though the seagulls in his community just want to hang out at the promenade snitching food. He has the support of his grandparents, to keeps trying. Will he fulfill his dream?
This is a delightful story with an important message about finding your place in the world and dreaming big. Working towards your dream and getting support where you can, as well as ignoring the nay sayers are all important lessons. The illustrations are wonderful and the kids loved looking them over. The story is told in a humorous way, and it was easy enough for the older two to take turns reading it aloud to all of us. We will watch for more books in this series by Babs Vinden-Cantrell.
Lovely kids book!
Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publishers for letting me read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my review.
cute picture book about an even cuter Seagull that just wants to dance. I enjoyed it. I'm adding to the list of picture books to buy for the kids in my life.
I’m not really sure which age group this would be best for. It seems a little too advanced for the readers that it would likely most appeal to based up the story and illustrations.
The illustrations were great but the story was a bit long and didn’t hold my attention or my child’s.
The kids kept asking how much longer. Maybe this just isn’t best for a read aloud situation.
This cute tale of a seagulls journey to dancing success is both charming and reflective. When a creative seagull is encouraged to break through the norm and pursue his dreams he discovers that seagulls can also be dancers. The colorful illustrations are sure to keep your young readers engaged throughout this wonderful story of pursuing creative dreams.
I really enjoyed this book . The illustrations were beautiful and truly bring the story to life .
I love how Seba is used to show children to be themselves and find some that makes them happy .
The story was a easy and quick read , I recommend it highly .
I just reviewed Seagull's Got to Dance: The Second Adventure by Babs Vinden-Cantrell. #SeagullsGottoDanceTheSecondAdventure #NetGalley
This is a fun bedtime read. It’s a little too length for a story time but it is such a fun read. I will be looking into purchasing it for my library.
Sky, the leader of the seagulls, is about to give an important (and very boring) lecture as the season opens. Not everyone is as invested in it as he is - least of all young Seb, who has a bit of a knack for getting into trouble.
But to Seb's amazement, he does find out something very important as a result of attending this event. When Tony de Beak and his team of seagull dancers begin their routine, Seb is swiftly caught up in the rhythm. And just like that, he knows he has found what he wants to do when he grows up.
Unfortunately for Seb, his seagull community are known for patrolling the pier area in search of leftover potato chips - and nobody seems to think his dream is within reach. But Seb is a cheeky little chap and he's not giving up THAT easily...
This is a delightful story with an important message about finding your place in the scheme of things, and the humorous storytelling is accompanied by an adorable set of illustrations. Highly recommended.
A cute story on being yourself following a dancing seagull. The story didn’t pull me in but the read went quickly.
Beautiful children’s story. The formatting made it difficult to read though as the pictures were jumbled up and some words were cut off. Im guessing this problem is because its an ebook. It was hard to follow but a cute story nonetheless with gorgeous illustrations.
I really enjoyed this book and it was a fun read
I loved the underlying themes about having fun, enjoying yourself and most importantly being yourself. The book had a mix of characters and I liked how they worked together. Seb was a good character and I could certainly see similarities between him and my 5 year old daughter!
The story was easy to read and follow and it has a nice flow to the story.
It is 4 stars from me for this one, highly recommended!
