It's been a while since I played 'Cyberpunk 2077' and although I am familiar with the world, the beginning of this novel still confused me. Additionaly, it turns out, this is much more an action novel, which I'm not the biggest fan of.

Have you ever wanted to do a heist while not avoiding trouble from Militech and the Corpos? Well welcome to Night City! This world is alive and bustling, with flashing neon lights and cold rain pouring down the streets. Rival Gangs grip the crime world, and cyber upgrades in human bodies are a real thing. Want to get clean water? That's a subscription. Want to get access to stuff? Subscription. Cyberpunk 2077: No Coincidence is a novel that brings the world of this amazing setting alive. The book is brim to packed with extra details for fans of the Cyberpunk 2077 novel.

All in all, the novel is packed with exciting characters with feisty personalities. Zor was one of my favorites, a man who's searching for questions. Milenna, is a strong intelligent woman who is trying to navigate her life in Night City. Liam, is a professional policeman who wants to bring justice to the city but finds that corrupt politics always plays a big role. Seems like something hasn't changed. If anything, Albert is the most flawed character in this novel. His backstory is interesting enough that it'll engage you in it. Multi POVs help bring this world alive.

A glossary would have helped in between to help casual readers who might not have heard about this world, as sometimes the novel goes into full depth into extra secrets that you might not find anywhere else. As a gamer, I played Cyberpunk. I love the stories it tells. And recently update 2.0 came out which overhauls the game to such an extent, that this novel is an extension of what I'm reading here. I loved the writing that popped out every little detail of offices, and how people live, everything about it is just awesome. The writing was really solid. This is a true adaptation of the video game's world and setting. You really have to read this now!

Have posted review to my Amazon and Blog page.

Does a decent job of weaving Cyberpunk lore into its narrative, but anyone new to the franchise might struggle to absorb it all. Still, the fairly standard plot and characters do a good job of carrying things along

A quick read that was fine. It holds very little appeal to those not already well acquainted with the Cyberpunk 2077 IP, and frankly wasn't good enough for me to recommend as something to flesh out the world. It was fine, but not a book I'll go out of my way to recommend.

I was really excited to read No Coincidence as I'm a really big fan of Cyberpunk 2077 and it did not dissapoint!

It was a really fun story with some great characters and It was awesome to learn more about the world!
The only negatives I have is the writing style was a little weird and it would get a little confusing when the pov changed.

I really would recommend this book to any fan of the game!
Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Arc from Netgalley in exchange for honest review.

Full disclosure - I got around half way through this before deciding it wasn’t for me and so this review is based on that.

This one fell a bit flat for me. I’m not sure someone who hasn’t played Cyberpunk 2077 would get much from this story. I have played it and so the jargon/references/language did land but at the same time the world building felt fairly non-existent, like the author was relying on the already-established world of the game.

The plot is fairly standard heist stuff (maybe this changes later on!) and the characters were your usual rag-tag bunch albeit with cyber mods. I just didn’t feel any interest in what was happening to them unfortunately.

I read an eARC of this book so thank you to the author, the publisher and Net Galley for this.

If you’re a fan of cyberpunk 2077, the cyberpunk RPG or the cyberpunk genre in general then this is a good addition and an enjoyable read!

There’s some interesting expansion on Bartmoss and the Blackwall and what would happen if someone broke through. There’s also many of the things we know and love from Cyberpunk such as ripper docs, netrunners, cybernetic augmentation, Night City and the different gangs and corporations.

This would also be good for fans of heist novels/ it follows a group of individuals from different backgrounds with no criminal records who are brought together to do a job for a fixer. Things start to get complicated though and secrets from their pasts start to come out as people try to use them against them.

This was an exciting read and a good addition if you want more cyberpunk content!

I'm a cyberpunk fan but not a gamer, so Cyberpunk 2077 is foreign to me. But...by the tone of this book, it is very familiar ground still. Blade Runner, Neuromancer, neon, dark streets etc etc. I'm not knocking it at all, because that's what you've signed up for, and as an aesthetic it remains one of the coolest on the block.

Still, I found this novel a slog to get through. It's written in a scattergun style, jumping from one stock character to another, and the world doesn't bring anything particularly new to the table. It's a cyberpunk heist novel so on paper should be right up by (rain-soaked and neon-lit) alley, but it does feel like a by the numbers story.

Maybe if you're a fan of the game, there is more to enjoy that I simply didn't pick up on, but as a standalone book it fell a little short for me.
