Absolutely my fault, not the book. Just got caught up in moving house and didn't manage to finish it before access expired
I did really enjoy the bits I managed to read, and will seek this out in future to actually finish it!
I received an advance copy for free from NetGalley, on the expectation that I would provide an honest review.
I always love the Rebel Girl books! They are perfect for younger readers and inspiring for young girls! It’s amazing to see everyone’s personal success stories and hopefully other young girls can be inspired from those stories.
A lovely collection of short stories about rebel girls 😊
This anthology includes works from over 125 authors with many different backgrounds who share their stories about many topics, such as sports, politics, music or even activism. These can include letters, anecdotes or even short stories.
Although I’m not part of the target audience, I still found it enjoyable, albeit a bit repetitive at times despite the positive messages. I also thought it was a shame not all the content was available in the ARC, even though you get the jist of it by reading just a few pages. Finally, I really liked the added bonus of the QR codes with more info about the authors.
In short, it’s the perfect book for young girls to learn positive messages and it’s the kind of book you can pick up at any time (although it’s best to savour 😉)
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review !
Brilliant continuation of Rebel Girls. Inspirational for children and adults alike, and a must for any classroom.
I found "Dear Rebel" to be incredibly cute and inspiring. It feels like a special little community wrapped into one book, offering the wisdom and advice of remarkable women. Growing up as a girl, it's so important to hear from others who have walked similar paths, and this book does that beautifully. The vibrant colors and eye-catching title and artwork perfectly capture the attention of its intended audience..
"Dear Rebel: 125+ Women Share Their Secrets to Taking on the World" offers a diverse collection of stories and advice from a wide range of women. Each woman shares her own perspective on tackling challenges and achieving success, presented in the form of letters.
The book offers a nice variety and diversity of voices and backgrounds. You'll find insights and encouragement and representation of different fields and life paths. However, some of the stories felt generic or lacking depth.
In summary, "Dear Rebel" is a good starting point to hear from resilient women who've made their mark. It provides valuable motivation and tips for anyone looking to navigate their own journey with determination and courage.
This book from Rebel Girls is one of my favorites! It's packed with inspiring stories and advice from 125 diverse leaders like athletes, artists, and CEOs. You can pick it up anytime for a confidence boost or to chase your own dreams. Perfect for middle schoolers and beyond, but its messages inspire readers of all ages. It's a must-have for any bookshelf!
"Dear Rebel" is yet another fantastic addition to the Rebel Girls collection of books. This anthology serves as a vibrant mosaic of voices from around the globe, offering a collection of letters addressed to the next generation. Spanning a diverse spectrum of women and girls, including those with disabilities and from LGBTQ+ communities, each entry provides a snapshot of personal experiences, aspirations, and wisdom.
Presented in one-to-three-page spreads, these letters, occasionally interwoven with poetic expression, offer quick yet profound insights into the lives of their authors. Accompanied by colorful photographs, the variety of contributors represent a kaleidoscope of backgrounds, achievements, and passions. Within these pages, readers encounter stories of resilience, advocacy, and self-discovery. Tegan Vincent-Cooke shares her journey as a Black British quadriplegic dressage rider, navigating discrimination and finding empowerment. Pranjal Jain reflects on her bold act of writing to President Barack Obama at a young age, challenging systemic barriers and shaping her identity as an immigrant woman of color. Notably, the anthology includes letters penned by teenage voices, such as Japanese Canadian actor Momona Tamada, who dismantles stereotypes and offers heartfelt guidance on embracing new opportunities and seeking support. Throughout, the letters resonate with authenticity, portraying both triumphs and tribulations in the personal and professional realms.
Enhanced by vibrant graphics and generous whitespace, the volume exudes an inviting charm, beckoning readers to explore its pages. Sincere, accessible advice and inspiration radiate from every letter, fostering connection and empowerment among its diverse audience.
This is a great compilation of advice from women and young women who have reached great accomplishments. From Olympic gold medalists to CEOs and activists, these girls and women provide the advice they wished they had at a young age.
This was a sweet book of letters and stories to and from women and girls. It could be inspirational to some, but just wasn’t really for me. It is a well-designed, carefully selected anthology.
My thanks to Rebel Girls and NetGalley for providing me with a digital ARC to review.
I like the series and this is a nice addition, with more contributors, hence there is something for everyone.
A number of pages were still "intentionally left blank" in this review copy but you get the idea of what they will be. This isn't my favourite of the Rebel series, there's too many big walls of text for my brain, but I adore the scrapbooking feel and overall message.
Wow this book is a treasure trove of love and support. What a wonderful read. I especially enjoyed just dipping in and out of it, choosing a letter at random to pick me up. My daughter who is 11 has also enjoyed reading it - we have shared our favourite letters with each other as we’ve read the book.
I always love this kind of book. The stories are sweet and empowering and inclusive for everyone. It's not sticking into mainstream occupation. I love the layout format~ if I can get my hand on the printed edition, would love to have them!!!
If you like empowering stories for girls, totally inspirative, go get this book!!!! Thank you Rebel Girls and Netgalley for the arc in exchange for honest review✨
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this book for free in exchange for my review! All opinions are my own.
As a diehard feminist, I loved this book. This book helps young girls see that they are just as strong and capable as any man. And this is one of the most important life lessons young girls can learn. I highly recommend this book and I wish I could give it more stars!!!

A beautiful book sharing words of wisdom from a number of truly incredible women.
Alongside tales from a number of women, some well known, some less so this book oozes positivity about what it means to be a woman.
More than 125 extraordinary teens and women share their advice, experiences, and the secrets of their success-in their own words. Through letters, poems, essays, self-portraits, and more, the authors tackle topics like overcoming obstacles, discovering your passion, and dreaming big.
Huge Rebel Girls fans in this household! I really enjoyed the format of this one. It was fun, engaging and inspirational.
Thank you Rebel Girls for the copy through NetGalley!
I love stories written by women for other women. This collection is thorough and diverse and I appreciate the care that went into making it.
The latest book from Rebel Girl, Dear Rebels, is a collection of personal letters and stories to read rather than the mini-biographies that the other books contain. Possibly aimed at a slightly older audience to the previous book, this is a nice addition for someone who has grown up with the Rebel Girls series.
