This was a cosy pool read, there is nothing to task the brain, the characters are likable and the setting is nice, so just sit in the sun and enjoy
Pippa’s partner Mike has run off with their neighbour leaving her a single mum with a pile of debt working every hour she can to pay the debts and living in a flat she can’t afford.
A sudden inheritance of a beach cafe from her aunt suddenly makes things a little brighter as she thinks she might sell it so she can start over again
After a visit from the bailiffs and losing her job she changes her mind and decides to move to the cafe and run it herself. After all how hard can it be ?
I love this story so much. I was empowered by Pippa and her strength to start over in at the Beach café. She is an amazing Mom and it just makes you realize we are all figuring it out as we go along.
Discovering an unexpected inheritance, Pippa embarks on a heartwarming journey at The Little Beach Café. Battling challenges, she reopens the cafe, nearly giving up until Carol, an endearing elderly lady, arrives with cherished recipes. This feel-good romance offers a delightful, cheerful read, with lovable characters but repetitive and predictable at times.
I really enjoy this book, my first by this Author , though i have to admit at times i did find Pippa and her son really annoying apart from that it was a quick easy read.
What a fantastic book, Sarah Hope is a new author for me and I devoured every page.
Pippa Jenkins has had a tough time when her partner Mike runs out on her and Joshua her son but when she learns she’s inherited a beach cafe from a great aunt her luck is about to change.
Starting fresh her and Joshua settle into their new lives making friends along the way.
Full of friendship, love and a bit of drama to a truly fabulous read.
Definitely be looking out for more of Sarah’s books.
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood books for an ARC of this book
Pippa inherited a café by the beach from her aunt. Pippa was looking for a new start and this was exactly what she needed. So off she went with her son to begin her new life. She put her whole heart into getting the café the way she wanted it to be. She did not realize how much she would have to do.
Then two men come into her life Joe and Mike. Let me tell you that you are going to like one of them but not the other.
This is such a fabulous book you will be so glad you picked it up and read it.
Thank you Netgalley, Sarah Hope and Boldwood Books for the copy of The Little Beach Café. This is my personal review.
A truly stunning book from Sarah; although she is a relatively new author to me. It is beautifully written with lovely descriptions.
What a wonderful read and story by Sarah Hope and one I enjoyed immensely. Love, friendship, new beginnings. But not only that this is a story of life.
Pippa is left a beachside cafe and she jumps at the chance to leave the past behind and start again. But the past has a way of coming back to haunt you. This is her story and it is such a wonderful read. It flows well, has plenty of substance and the characters are great. A book that I could not put down and enjoyed each and every word from start to finish.
This is an author I will enjoy reading from here on out and one I will keep an eye out for. I look forward to seeing what else she writes with anticipation.
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
This is my first book of Sarah Hope’s and I already have the next one waiting to be read. Although this is a difficult storyline about Pippa’s life I found that I couldn’t put it down. She had been in a destructive relationship and had many financial problems . Suddenly she receives a solicitor’s letter informing her she can choose to accept Her Great Aunt’s gift of a little beach cafe or it will be given to charity. She sees this as a new start for her and her young son and sets off to begin a new chapter. She has a few surprises along the way but I found this an enjoyable read and would recommend it.
Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
I absolutely loved reading this book.
After struggling with her current situation, Pippa learns that she’s inherited a beach café. With her son Joshua, she moves there, leaving behind the bad memories that her ex boyfriend Mike caused.
When Pippa arrives at the beach café, she realises that it needs a lot of work before she can open. She meets Joe, but things don’t get off to a good start.
Later on Mike turns up, making promises that he’s changed. Has he?
I recommend this book.
one thing I love is a good beach cafe book. So after reading the title of this book I was extremly excited and I delve straight in.
The main character Pippa is so lovely, shes been through a lot recently and now she gets a fresh start and I was so excited for her.
The story itself is so beautiful and I just flew through it. I will not lie I did not want this book to end it was amazing!
This author is definitely going to become one of my favourites and I cant wait to read more from them.
I absolutely love this book! It’s such an easy to read story with drama, love and all the things that go with it.
Pippa inherits a beach café and moves there with her son Joshua. This was needed, because where she lived before she had a lot of debt from her ex boyfriend (Joshua’s dad) Mike, who ran off with the downstairs neighbour.
When they get to the beach café it turns out that it needs a lot of work. This is when she meets Joe.
But Mike is around the corner. What will he be up to?
Read it and you won’t regret it. I couldn’t put it down and enjoyed every single second!
I'm always worried about reading books by new authors and not enjoying them, but this book caught me off guard. I ended up enjoying it from the beginning to the end. A mom down on her luck in a very unfortunate situation, gets the opportunity for a new start and she grabs it and holds on tight. She becomes an amazing cafe owner, who falls in love anew, but maybe small towns aren't always amazing, and maybe people like to gossip. Can she overcome the whisperings of those around, and can she completely shake off her past life with the father of her child? This book is about a strong woman, who becomes a boss mom, reconnecting with her son and pulling herself up by her shoestrings. Definitely a good book, but I do wish it had a little more romance, thus only 4 stars, I felt like the romance that was in the book was not fully fleshed out.
I really loved this. I got so engrossed in Pippas life. I could not put this down. It was so good I loved the plot and totally loved her decisions. It made me cry, laugh and smile.
I just reviewed The Little Beach Café by Sarah Hope. #TheLittleBeachCafé #NetGalley

Pippa is struggling. She has been left in the lurch by her ex who has a load of debt to pay off. Her waitressing job is tiring and she has trouble balancing her work whilst being a single mum. She then inherits a beach cafe, left to her by her great aunt. Pippa and her son Joshua decide to start a new life and move to this seaside town. She then meets Joe and a romance ensues.
Predictable to a certain extent, this was a light and quick read. However, there was a lot of repetition and if I had come across the words, "ran off with that tart" one more time, I would have screamed. Also, I thought that there was a complete lack of character development when it came to Joe and often, he just came across as being quite odd.
Ever since Pippa Jenkins’s ex Mike ran off on her and their son Joshua with their neighbor downstairs—also her friend—Pippa’s been struggling to make ends meet.
Which is why Pippa’s surprised when she learns her Great Aunt Kathryn who passed some months ago has left her The Little Beach Café of Pebble Road, Seaden Bay. The letter adds that Pippa has three months to claim the café before it would be auctioned off and the proceeds donated to the local nature reserve.
When her boss fires her for her tardiness and she loses her tenancy Pippa’s left with no choice but to move to the coast with her son.
A few days after she arrives in the countryside, she reopens the cafe but struggles to return the café to its former glory. Seeing her efforts as futile she decides to close the cafe in two weeks and move back to London. But help comes in the form of an elderly lady named Carol who used to work for Pippa’s great-aunt when she was running the cafe.
Carol offers to help make the homemade cakes and cream teas she and Kathryn used to serve as well as share her recipes with Pippa.
A feel-good romance book for a fun light and cheerful read. Likable characters and stunning scenery
Thank you to Sarah Hope, NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the arc of this book.
Pippa, a single mum struggling to make ends meet after her partner left her with massive debts to pay, unexpectedly inherits a beachside cafe from her great aunt. Remembering it as a lovely little cafe from her childhood visits she is dismayed to find it very rundown after being shut for 5 years. Determined to make a go of it, with no real alternative, she works hard to get it ready to open. She finds it difficult to fit into the small community at first, but gradually settles in, helped by grumpy plumber Joe.
The opening scenes are really disheartening with how hard Pippa has to work to keep her and her son Joshua with a roof over their heads. Finding the cafe in the state that it is didn't help, but that small community feel starts coming in with the help she receives with the cafe. Things naturally don't go smoothly, leading to a dramatic climax, but overall a story that left me feeling very positive. An ideal summer read.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influenced my review of the book.
This was certainly a story of love, friendship and new beginnings as advertised. A new start, somewhat shaky for Pippa and her son, but to the rescue came the local plumber. Both had gone through similar hurts in the past so quickly became good allies and friends. Pippa’s ex had got wind of her inheritance so appeared back on the scene which was a stumbling block to romance but all worked out happily in the end. A good summer’s read.
An enjoyable novel. I’d never read anything by this author before but I’m glad I have now. At times it could be a little repetitive such as the arguments between Mike and Pippa but overall it was a nice, easy read.
One character I was confused about was Joe. When we first met him I pictured him as some surly, horrible bloke but then when Pippa began to become attracted to him I feel I had imagined him differently and ugly 🙈
Another one that confused me was Joshua. He seemed to act like a teenager with what he said to Pippa but when we find out he’s around 5 years of age it seemed quite unrealistic.
Apart from that I really enjoyed it.
