Absolutely fantastic plot! Could not put the book down once I began reading it. Cannot wait for it to be released. I will recommend it to everyone I know!

The Little Beach Cafe by Sarah Hope.

3.75

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, Sarah Hope for providing me with an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

The main reason I chose this book was because of the book cover! It's so pretty!

<spoiler> Coming to the story, there were a lot of coincidences. First, Joe was a single parent like Pippa, their kids happened to be of the same age, both of their spouses cheated on them and left, Joe's mom happened to be the same woman who worked for Pippa's great aunt when she was young, and both their estranged spouses came back around the same time to make amends. It all seemed a little bit too unrealistic.

Disregarding that, the story was good. I liked Pippa's character development and the overall plot.

The other thing I didn't like was how Pippa showed Mike up in Joshua's eyes. I understand that you can't tell a kid that his dad is a liar, a cheat and an alcoholic, but the least you could do was not lie to the kid about the dad. Instead of telling Joshua that his daddy has gone for work and will be back, she could have told him a jist of the situation, because Joshua was definitely being a very demanding boy and didn't understand how many sacrifices Pippa had to make. She couldn't have told in the beginning, but she could have told so at least when Joshua started asking about Mike again. Also, I'm not very sure if Joshua knew it was his dad who burnt the cafe. You might say the parents do it to protect their child, but only builds up resentment towards the parent who kept the secret. </spoiler>

Anyway, overall it was a good story.

Absolutely lovely little read! I loved the characters and I can’t wait to meet them all again! Love how Pippa really transformed her life for her and Joshua! Really disliked the character of her Ex!

A great read. . An inheritance , a nasty x , a mother trying to do the best for her son who she hardly ever saw due to work. I loved how Pippa turned the beach cafe around. Some twists and a fab ending. Also a love element. Excellent . A perfect relaxing summer read

Pippa has nothing to keep her from taking over her aunt’s beach cafe, a crappy job and mounting debt convince her to pack up and take her son off on a new adventure. While Pippa works hard to make the cafe a success, her past makes a reappearance when her ex shows up, hoping for a second chance. Will Pippa give up her independence, her dream, for another chance at love?

Cute little book about a single mum relocating to the seaside. The main character, Pippa, is likeable, her son Joshua is adorable and her ex is a jerk. Cute little romance book with the mum finding herself stuck in a triangle. Sorry I found it boring at times.

A fun quick read. A story about learning to trust again and falling in love again. Pippa is given a chance to start her life over again after her ex-husband leaves her and their son for another woman, also leaving them with the debts he incurred while gambling. Inheriting a cafe, Pippa moves to a new place with her son in hopes if a new start. Meets a handyman of sorts named Joe, they start seeing each other. Through into the mix, her ex who is willing to disrupt their son's life for more money, telling lies to Pippa a Joshua along the way. I had fun reading it.
I received an ARC copy of the book from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.
