A heart-warming, summer escapism read about three sisters, the hustle of preparing for a wedding and the secrets each sister has about their lives. Written across the three POVs of the sisters – Kirsty (oldest), Emma (middle & the bride) and Amy (youngest) - following their journeys as they prepare for Emma’s big day. The sisters are likeable, warm and it’s very easy to care for them, but I have to admit Emma was my favourite. I finished the book wishing I could have such sisters.

The story plot has a lot of emotional ups and down as each sister’s secret come is scratched away with each passing chapter. I found myself a little surprised as I thought I pinned down Kirsty’s secret early on, but a big twist caught me out to my delight (love it when the writing can surprise the reader). I did find a lot of drama woven throughout the story. At times, I struggled to catch my breath with all the plot turns coming out the woodwork.

The detail of the landscape is majesty and paints a rich picture to the reader accurately reflecting the beauty of the Isle of Arran. Though Scotland isn’t always as sunny and pleasant on the West coast as enjoyed throughout the story, I loved that details like that were considered in the plot and the wedding had a back-up plan in case of rain. I did think there are some geographical mistakes about places on Arran (from my previous visits), but this doesn’t detract from the story.

There are two emotional and hard-hitting medical issues mentioned in the story. I thought the story handled them great realism, empathy and sensitively. The elements of dementia struck me the most, I’ve people I love to this condition. I love to see the issues raised in fiction, the more we know the signs the more chance we can catch it early in our loved ones to fight for them.

Set in Scotland, 3 sisters are back together for a wedding
Kirsty the eldest runs a b&b with her husband is organising the wedding but discovered some shocking news when she was looking in the attic at her dads house
Emma whose wedding it is is a lawyer and lives in Edinburgh with her fiancé who is also a lawyer
Amy is a yoga instructor and the youngest lives in Vancouver Canada with her casual boyfriend but wants to move back home
Each one has a secret they need to share, will they be able to open up or will the secrets stay untold ?

A novel set in Scotland is always a good start, with lovely settings and good characters to match.. You will fall for this book and you will get a great read. 5 stars.

A fantastic, heart-warming story of three sisters who are gathering again for the first time since their mother passed away two years ago. This time it's for more joyous a reason - middle sister Emma is getting married!

Emma and youngest sister Amy, who normally lives in Canada, are returning to their old family home Meadowbank Cottage which their oldest sister Kirsty is running as a B&B with her husband.

Emma is super laid back about the wedding arrangements but has some important news to share with her husband to be before the big day. Kirsty also has some news to share.

Expect lots of smiles, and some tears, but still a fabulous book.

Perfect summer read!

PS. I've already looked up the Isle of Arran as a holiday destination. It looks absolutely stunning!

Lovely setting for a book, it was beautiful and the summer descriptions of the settings and scenery were lovely. The three sisters are all very charming, this was just a sweet book by a new author to me. I look forward to reading more of her work. Thank you NetGalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

I love Arran and it’s scenery and also other area described in the book so from that point of view I really enjoyed this book but I felt that the story was quite light and fitted into the scenery rather than the scenery fitting into the story which was disappointing.

A sweet easy read based on the beautiful Scottish island of Arran. I know the island well so the names and descriptions brought back fond memories. Lovely connections between the sisters and nothing to challenging if you need a gentle escape.

This gem is set in the island of Arran in Scotland and we are there for Emmas wedding. We follow her and her 2 sisters and all the family drama and some romance along the way. I couldn't stop reading this. I loved this. I am still thinking about this days later.
I just reviewed A SUMMER WEDDING ON ARRAN by Ellie Henderson. #ASUMMERWEDDINGONARRAN #NetGalley

I couldn’t resist this book as I know Arran well, and this book certainly did this beautiful island justice. A lovely, heartwarming story about 3 sisters who are about to come together on Arran for the wedding of their middle sister, Emma. There are no huge dramas, no plot twists or suspense, just a beautiful story of love, family and relationships. Really enjoyable.

Three sisters…..one wedding…..infinite possibilities. Just from the tagline I was intrigued by this story and the blurb pulled me in and made me want to keep reading more.

A couple of years after their mum’s funeral, the three sisters are back in Arran to celebrate middle sister, Emma’s upcoming wedding and so the story unfolds.

I really enjoyed this story and found it to be a sweet and easy read and it kept me wanting to turn the pages to find out what was going to happen next.

The three siblings stories were interesting and i really liked them as characters too, I really enjoyed becoming involved in their lives……

I haven't read any other books by Elle Henderson but that is fixing to change. After reading and enjoying this one, I will be looking for more of her books to read.

This book is about a family who has lost their Mother, several years ago, now the sisters are coming together to help put on a Summer Wedding.

Check out the book I think you will enjoy it.

I liked this book, a fun sweet read set in the beautiful Arran. A small portion of the book was about the wedding and romance - I would have loved to have more of that. but all in all it was a great summer read. .

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

This was a lovely, sweet story. I enjoyed reading about siblings who were supportive of each other, and it was refreshing to see the couples without excessive drama. When there was drama introduced, they handled it like adults and talked things through.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.

The title is misleading, making it sound as though the focus of the book is romance and the wedding itself. There is a wedding, but it only makes up a small part of the story. There isn't much in the way of romance either. Drama is made out of very little, things which could have been sorted earlier through communicating with each other. Slow paced too. I did love the setting as I would love to visit Arran some day. The characters were all nice enough. There were plus points, it's a nice read, but it could have been so much more. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Choc Lit for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was so interesting to me, a few months ago I had read a book that was about four different sisters an each chapter was their different point of view, so I could not wait to read another one.

This was a very quick and easy read, and I enjoyed the book but I would not say that I loved it. I did like that we got to see things from every sister's perspective. I enjoyed that I could relate to all of the sisters in a different way and I love reading about family dynamics.

I will for sure read more Ellie Henderson books in the future

I absolutely loved the setting to this novel - the author does a wonderful job of painting a picture of the beautiful island. I thought the sisters were also very well developed and the relationship between them was lovely. The first half of the book was very well paced and I enjoyed the character and story development, however I felt that the second half of the book was a bit rushed in order to get the story finished and all of the loose ends tied up. Having said that I would very much look forward to a sequel to this book and re-visiting the sisters and their lives. This would be a really good book to read on holiday.

I received a free copy of, A Summer Wedding on Arran, by Elie Henderson, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Middle sister Emma is getting married on Arran Isle. Its the first time her and her sisters Kirsty and Amy have been back since the loss of their mother. I found this book to be enjoyable. The sisters are as close as sisters can be, with a wedding on the horizon, the loss of their mother, and their father not doing well health wise, a lot of emotions and a lot going on in this book.

A wonderful story, uplifting yet with some emotional aspects which had me crying silent tears. As one of 3 close sisters, I find I often seek out stories based on sibling relationships. I thought all 3 sisters' stories were given equal detail, meaning I felt similarly invested in all 3. The differences in their stories meant my interest was maintained; the final twist added further interest. The emotion of one of the main themes, relating to death and dementia, was raw but of course, a part of life and was dealt with intelligently and with sensitivity. At times, some of the sub plots left me a bit unsure, possibly feeling as if the author was setting up a sequel but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

This was a lovely, sweet, heartwarming story. I loved the relationship the sisters had and how they were there for each other, no matter what. I liked how each sister had her own story and they all got their own HEA. I enjoy reading books set in Scotland and loved the description of their island home.
