Such a cute graphic novel! This book was such a pleasure to read and I cannot wait to read more from Brenna Thummler. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a soft read.

this was a sweet book, but I think the target audience would be younger than myself (in my 20s). I loved the graphics and the colours used throughout but the actual story was a little lacking for me.

What a cute comic! I loved this quick read and it was such a lovely story. Wendell was seriously the cutest and I loved this story on how he helped Marj. There is another and I can’t wait to download and read it as well.

This was such a sweet and easy-reading book! I loved that it had a really deep meaning told in a very simple way. The characters were so likable that it was almost imposible not to have the urge to hug them. Their development throughout the story was great as well.
I think this is the sort of story that anyone will love, and is a great way to teach so many important lessons to our kids.

Sheets fits the bill for readers who want to read something with ghosts and mysteries without anything scary or creepy. It shows the struggles and triumphs of a young girl who demonstrates strength and resilience. The author touches on serious topics such as loss of a parent, substance abuse, poverty, and class discrimination in a respectful and age appropriate way. I would recommend adding this book to a middle grade library. The characters are relatable without being one dimensional or stereotypical. Thank you to Net Galley for the digital ARC.

The book gave me such a nostalgia, vibes that I love, i found the Fmc very relatable, and wasn’t the typical ya main character. I really liked how it portrayed ghosts.

I actually only asked for this book because of the cover lol. I had no idea what I was getting in to but the cover looked fun and who doesnt love ghosts ? This title was superb! I will definitely be buying this for my kids as they prefer this kind of book. I loved the story and the fact that there were deeper meanings and lessons in this title as well. The character learned things about herself that she may not have otherwise thoguht to think of had certain events not taking place for her. I really enjoyed this and I think it is great for any kid over 10 years old.

Um... this is the cutest thing ever??? Why am I crying over a ghost graphic novel? I'll tell you why - because the illustration was the perfect blend of fine and thick lines with a pastel palette and the story was beautifully executed alongside. Grief is a key theme and whilst it was emotional it brought out the positives of processing grief and recognising your own needs.

Sheets is an adorable graphic novel about a laundromat that is having trouble and a ghost that is trying to help.
Marjorie is a high school student trying to keep her family's laundromat open since her mother has recently passed away. Mr. Saubertuck is doing everything in his power to destroy the family's laundromat. Wendell is a young ghost living in the laundromat at night but without realizing he is creating trouble for the business.

Story goes back and forth between the human world and the ghost world, as well as back in time to memories of Marjorie and her mother.

Not my favorite art work but the colours are cute and fit the story well.

This was a surprisingly dark and poignant graphic novel. Even though the protagonist was a teenager there was a lot of emotional depth and heartache. The art style was really well done and compelling.

Although the beginning was quite slow, I thoroughly devoured this beautiful yet heartwarming graphic novel!! The choice of palette was so pleasing to the eye and the art is just stunning.

A sweet and wistful middle-grade look at how grief haunts us—and the way loss can force children to step into roles they aren't ready and shouldn't be responsible for. Marjorie Glatt is struggling after her mother dies. Not only does she have all the regular school age things to worry about (mean girls, homework, crushes, etc) but she's also the only one stepping up to keep her family's laundry business afloat... barely. Her father sleeps all day, hardly parenting, and her younger brother doesn't really understand everything that's happened or what's at stake. Plus, there's a creepy rich dude hanging around trying to convince them to sell him the business and will stop at nothing to sabotage them until they agree. It's. A. Lot. Meanwhile, in Ghost Town, a little ghost named Wendell also isn't doing so good either—struggling to make friends and fit in, unable to let go of the idea of life, he returns to the real world, to the Glatt laundromat, aching for connection. What ensues is pure heartwarming chaos of the sweetest kind. Sheets is a real gem of a graphic novel with gorgeous vibrant art and characters that leap off the page. A touching story that works for readers of all ages.

I loved the style of the book and how closely the comics matched up to the conversation at hand. I found the characters to be very likable and relatable and the plot line was cute. I would recommend this to a Middle Schooler.

Marjorie runs a laundromat after her mom died, and while struggling in the human world, Wendell, is a ghost and doesn’t feel like he belongs in the ghost-world. He breaks the rules to go to the human world; will Marjorie and Wendell get along?

<i>Sheets</i> was an okay story about dealing with loss and trying to find a place in a world which feels cruel. I don’t think I’ll read the next books, but it was an okay read. Hopefully it’ll be someone’s next favorite ghost story!

My children at school love graphic novels and I think they'd enjoy this one. It starts sad and spooky but has such a lovely message and ending. It does tackle the death of a parent and of a child so is definitely one that might been needed to be recommended carefully. Wendell tries so hard to help Marjorie out and initially it all goes wrong, but in the end she realises that his help is coming from a good place. I love the colour palate of the pictures and they are beautifully drawn. This book would give teachers a lot of opportunity to talk about how grief affect people and how it can impact families. It would also spark conversations around being a young carer and the power of asking for help. I would definitely recommend adding this to school libraries and book corners.

This is one of the cutest graphic novels EVER. I loved the art + the storyline. I will absolutely be reading the next book when it comes out!

This comic was super cute and wholesome. It had some quite serious topics such as death and grieving a parent but dealt with them in a really gentle good way. I would highly recommend.

Sweet and meaningful. I think it’s perfect for middle grade audiences, though with a little more exploration on mental health and family dynamics it could have been a really touching YA.

As it is, it’s a nice and light exploration of grief and friendship.

This was such a simple yet heart-rending story! Two worlds collide when two children, each with their own pasts and complicated unhappy lives, end up meeting by chance. The story was easy to follow and managed to touch on many important everyday emotions and situations without delving too deep into grief or loss. The artwork was beautiful - especially of Nigel's house and the end scene (which I wouldn't describe for fear of giving away a spoiler!). I would definitely recommend this to young children rather than young adults, but it's still a quick and entertaining read no matter your age!
