I ended up listening to this on audio within a day and part of the early hours trying to disguise my tears.

There’s not many books that make me ugly weep, but this one did.

One mother is a mother and doesn’t want to be.
The other wants to be a mother so desperately.

It’s a heartbreaking read that the author has done such research on that you “feel” their emotions through the pages.

You want a good cry?
Here it is.

Well-written, thoroughly absorbing, with some fascinating commentary about what makes a mother. I think Cohen goes from strength to strength with every new book she writes.
