4.25/5 stars! This is the 32nd entry in the Dark PNR shifter series by Christine Feehan. You'd think by now I was tired of this series, but you'd be wrong. This is a Lycan Carpathian romance and so intriguing. It has been a while since we focused on the Lycans so I was really glad we got. Lycan FMC in this book. This does have instalust because of the mating bond, but it was handled masterfully.

This paranormal romance (the 36th book in the series!!!) follows Vasilisa, a Lycan of royal book who wants to be rid of being stuck under the thumb of her family and their watchful eye. Full of epic action and adventure, power, greed and control. The story keeps you captivated while you have to keep on top of all the world-building.

I’m a big fan of Christine Feehans Carpathian series and this didn’t disappoint me a bit, dad always it’s full of wolves, mages and demons. I would have preferred a bit more focus on the romance than the action, but it didn’t detract from my enjoyment, still a great read many years on

My favorite paranormal romance series! Dark Whisper is the 36th in Christine Feehan's Carpathian series, and it doesn't disappoint. The story is gripping, action-packed and romantic, with unique and complex characters and suspenseful battle scenes - I couldn't put this book down! One of the best books I've read this year - eagerly anticipating the next in this series!

Christine Feehans Carpathian series has been going for many years and I have always been a big fan. I love the world she has created of strong women matched with life mates they save from turning to the dark. This story doesn't disappoint with plenty of demons, mages and wolves. I would have preferred a little less fighting and a little more loving but maybe I'm just being picky. A good fantasy read.

Afanasiv Belan is an ancient Carpathian who has been waiting centuries for his life mate, but he has deep secrets that could change both their futures. Vasilisa Sidkorolyavolkva is a Lycan part of the Royal ruling family. There are many Lycans who will not accept any joining that will dilute their heritage. These two have waited more than a lifetime and must overcome prejudice and secrets to finally find love. The story keeps at a high thrilling level as both Demons and mages are seeking to infiltrate the Lycan community. Vasilisa is a strong female character who has been brought up to defend her people. She will need a strong partner who respects her and is willing to work together. When her family is betrayed the pace of the story really ramps up the tension. Part of a series where other characters in this story have been introduced and are much loved. This is a great addition to this series and l wait in anticipation for the next.
