I loved Beers' last two novels: Camp Lost and Found and Dance with Me. For me, Peaches and Cream felt like a departure from her signature romantic build up. In this novel, the two protagonists dive headfirst into a friends-with-benefits scenario, and while the narrative insists on their chemistry, it took a while for me to truly feel it. That said, it's undeniably a sweet romance. Despite missing the usual slow burn, Beers' innate gift for crafting engaging, endearing characters shines through.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Bold Strokes Books for a copy of this novel. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
"Peaches and Cream" by Georgia Beers is a delightful and heartwarming romance novel that left me with a warm and fuzzy feeling. This book is a perfect choice for those seeking a sweet and lighthearted read that combines a charming romance plot with the delectable world of ice cream.
I found these characters to be well-developed and relatable, with Adley's passion for ice cream and her determination to save her shop making her an endearing protagonist and with Sabrina's fast-paced life and vulnerability beneath her confident exterior.
In conclusion, Georgia Beers has crafted a delightful and heartwarming romance in "Peaches and Cream." If you're in the mood for a sweet, lighthearted read that combines a charming love story with the delectable world of ice cream, this book is the perfect treat. It's a reminder that sometimes, in life, it's okay to savor the sweet moments and eat dessert first.
A sweet romance that ticks all the boxes for an enjoyable escapist read. The characters are likable and interesting, The story is very much a take off on the film “You’ve Got Mail”, but set in the world of retail dessert shops. As with every Beers book, they are everything folks love about Hallmark movies. I recommend this to anyone with a fondness for those.
Who doesn’t crave a Georgia Beers food-themed novel? Sweet, sexy, tasty, and full of romance, Peaches and Cream is another hit by this talented writer.
Adley is a struggling small business owner, trying in vain to keep her family legacy afloat. Sabrina is the woman who arrives in town and throws her world into chaos. Not in a bad way straight up, though, because for a while, they know very little about each other outside of the bedroom. They have a strong attraction, but as hard as they try to keep it casual, little by little, they fall hard.
It’s hard not to want an ice cream in hand as you turn the page, desperate for Adley and Sabrina to get their acts together and communicate their feelings! Beers’ skills at crafting heartwarming love stories are on show yet again in Peaches and Cream with cute MCs trying not to fall in love, but inevitably failing, and of course the inclusion of an adorable little puppy to melt the iciest of hearts.

Review for Peaches and Cream
I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was truly unsure what to expect with this one. Adley is a small business owner and ice cream is in her veins. She’s been around the business and learned the trade from her grandfather who passed the business on to her. Sabrina has also spent copious amounts of time around ice cream, albeit in a different capacity but that doesn’t make her any less in love with the business of making others happy with ice cream.
When these two meet at a bar their chemistry is undoubtedly electric and they couldn’t help but fall for each other.
This book was so sweet (pun intended). The passion and dedication both women put into their different roles in the ice cream business made me route for them.
This same passion translated so well with one another from the time they met. You could see they belonged together.
I will admit to being slightly frustrated that it took them so long to get back to one another but this book was so beautiful that I couldn’t help but want them to make it work no matter how long it took and the knowledge that the time apart was needed for them both to grow in such different ways made it worth it.
Sprinkles was definitely their baby (not just Sabrina’s) from the beginning and it made me so happy that Adley had such a connection with the dog from the start.
My only concern with this book is the writing felt a tad simplistic but it wasn’t debilitating enough for me to not enjoy every second of this story. I actually ended up telling my best friend the story and gushing about how good it was and I never do that.
Solid 4.5/5
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Romance as sweet as all the ice cream descriptions that the reader is treated to. Having just recently finished the prior book in this series, it was lovely to see those previous characters and the way that this story contrasted with previous one. Though, as a reader, it was great to see the tension building as they got themselves into a situation not easily unstuck. Definitely enjoyable!
An engaging story dedicated to home made ice cream, with unusual flavours, that will definitely leave you craving some frozen desert. Georgia Beers is always reliable when it comes to crafting a good story and doesn't disappoint in this one. It had depth, important subtext about big corporations versus small family run stores, interesting and fun characters.
With thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book has such an obvious setup that I didn't have high expectations, but she does find unexpected depths and really fleshes out the characters. Of course I knew they would get together and I had a pretty good guess how that would turn out, but her version was a lot better than mine. Georgia Beers just keeps getting better.
This was a nice middle-of-the-road book - it wasn't the type you can't put down, but it holds your attention enough to want to finish. This is of course a sequel to Georgia Beers' Dance With Me. I remember Adley being a sort of vanilla, easy-to-forget character in that book, but this sequel gave the author time to add much more depth. She wasn't just a best friend who ran an ice cream shop, but a 3D character with feelings, and a full personality, The updated depiction of Adley made her very likable. Sabrina, Adley's nemesis slash love interest, is just as likable. I just felt like I wanted more and I don't know what that more is. Part of it was that it felt geared toward younger readers. There were a lot of "cutesy" moments when all I wanted to true romance, drama, and pulling of the heartstrings.
Maybe my tastes have changed over the years, but I remember when this author's books would make me laugh and/or cry, would raise the temperature in the room with steamy love scenes, and would be impossible to put down, even if it meant staying up until 2:00 am on a work night. Now I find myself rolling my eyes over the silly phrases and dialogue that take over the story.
Hoping the next one will make me feel that way again.
“Peaches and Cream” is a love story with a lot of cheese, but it’s the kind of cheese you don’t mind. It’s a classic big corporate vs. small business story - this time involving ice cream (perfect for summer reading) that would fit in perfectly with my wish-list future sapphic Hallmark movie collection.. It could be a little mush at times but it’s forgiven with it’s cuteness.
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the ARC.
Adley Purcell and Sabrina James are two opposites working in one field of bringing joy to people in the form of ice cream. Adley is the culinary artist who creates magically tasty ice cream by combining fresh ingredients, and she is the owner of the business that she is trying to keep afloat, not very successfully. Sabrina has no idea how to make ice cream as everything is done by machines and a team of food scientists, but she knows the ice cream business through and through and knows how to market and open new shops in cities all around the US, one of them threatening to get Adley out of business. But what to do if rivals fall in love with each other?
I'm not a fan of ice cream, but Adley's creations even made me want to reconsider and find particularly good ice cream to fall in love with. This book is a very nice summer read when you want to relax, or a fall read when you need some comfort, or a winter read when you want some magic, or a spring read when you need something romantic. So, you get it - pick it up any time, it will work and you will enjoy it.
I gave it 4 stars, 4.3-4.5 to be fair, because this is not a life-changing, revolutionary, and all-consuming love romance book, but there is nothing bad about it, it's just a very good romance book. Nice pacing, nice characters, nice plot, and cheesy in a good way (but isn't this exactly what you want, and why look in for romances?). It kept me turning pages.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Great story. I actually read the first story in this series (Dance with Me that featured Scottie and Marisa) and Dale was a minor character in that book, but she really stood out to me as a character that needed her own story, so here she is and I loved everything about this book, especially the romance between Alley and Sabrina. There's quite a bit of back and forth with there romance and business seems to get in th way of that a lot. I also liked catching up with Scottie and Marisa as well. All and all this was a really good story. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends and family and I look forward to what's next from this author.
So someone hacked my account, for fun i guess, and requested books . I am so.sorry about that. I am so sorry about this, and hopefully it Will not happen again
3 stars. Adley Purcell owns her family's ice cream shop, Get a Scoop. She meets someone new to town and is there for business, Sabrina James. They both do not want to talk about their jobs and just want to enjoy each other's company. They then find out that Sabrina is responsible for the new ice cream shop going in town in direct competition of Adley's small little shop. Adley is not sure how to deal with the fact that the girl she likes is taking down her family business.
This was not my favorite Georgia Beers. I love most of her novels but this one was not the best. I did not like the character evolution as much as I wanted to and I am not sure I liked the drama. This book was also very forgettable compared to other novels of hers. I enjoyed their relationship and the characters but I am not sure I liked the concept that they were both in competing ice cream shops. I would recommend this one to anyone who loves Georgia Beers and wants to read all her novels. There are better Georgia Beers novels for some people. who want to read this author. I am not sure I would re-read this one either.
one of the best sapphic books this year. It’s most definitely a 4 star read. the romance made me smile. it was warm.
This was okay to read, but I’ll admit that at some point their attitude was tiresome, specially because they both wanted to be together but Leo’s saying it was impossible due to a lame excuse.
At the beginning their chemistry seemed weird, and trust me, I do believe that people can have immediate lust, but it was a bit difficult to tell if they had slept together already or had just made out.
I’ll give 5 points to the characters but do feel a 3 for the story pace and maybe.
Peaches and Cream is the first book that I have read by Georgia Beers. Inspired by You've Got Mail, the story has all of the elements of a classic rom-com: the meet-cute, the falling, the fallout, the reunion. This is definitely something that I would recommend for people searching for a cute, sapphic romantic comedy. If you're not, I would not recommend it.
I did enjoy the story overall. If I had been in the mood for something a little more fluffy, I would have enjoyed it even more. There wasn't anything grand about the story, but there are plenty of times when I just want to read something for comfort more than anything else. For the most part, I think it's just that it wasn't what I was looking for in a book.
This is probably not something that I would read again. It's not a bad book by any means at all, but it isn't a great book. For people who want a low-stakes rom-com, it is a really fun story, but it's not really the kind of story that I tend to want to read all the time.
I would recommend this book for anybody that wants a cozy sapphic romance. It's comforting, pleasant, and sweet. However, it's certainly not for everybody.
I received a free advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much to Bold Strokes Books and NetGalley.
Who doesn't love ice cream?
Georgia Beers has done it again with her latest book release, Peaches and Cream. The story is full of romance, and love, as well as a few tears, which keeps you captivated and keeps you turning the pages.
4 out of 5
Adley was one of my favorite characters in Dance With Me so I was thrilled Beers gave her a story. Adley spends her days making ice cream in the shop her grandparents started. She is working tirelessly trying to keep the store afloat only to be discouraged by the prospects of a new ice cream shop getting ready to open.
On a night out she meets Sabrina and sparks ignite. Of course, Sabrina, is in town to open the chain store. This book gives out serious You've Got Mail vibes and I am here for it! Adley and Sabrina not only have sizzling chemistry but an easy banter that usually comes from interacting with someone you have known much longer.
One of the highlights was getting to catch up with some of Beers other characters. I love when authors give their readers the treat of time with past characters. Peaches and Cream was a delight. Grab your favorite ice cream and enjoy another treat from Georgia Beers.

Who doesn't love a yummy cup of ice cream on a hot summer day? But what if you could make a career of making the delectable concoction like Adley. The flavor combinations Georgia Beers brings to the table in this whimsical, romantic, sexy, lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers book is pure heaven. Beers has a natural talent for writing romance and it continues to improve in every single book she writes. The heat flowing between Sabrina and Adley is sure to melt any ice cream cone within a 20-mile radius. Go buy a pint, a quart, or a half-gallon of your favor ice cream and curl up with this latest creation. You won't be disappointed.
