Loved this book so much that am soon as I finished I wanted to start over. Georgia Beers does many things well in her writing but I don’t think anyone else can make me love characters like she can. It doesn’t matter the setting or dynamic, I am enveloped in the characters she writes and am sad when a story ends. This book is a heartwarming, funny, ice cream filled, prefect summer read. Can’t recommend enough.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for providing this title in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you NetGalley, the author and publishers for the opportunity to read and review Georgia Beers' novel "Peaches and Cream".
This was a very enjoyable, seamless read. The writing is engaging, witty, with humour and angst a plenty.
This sapphic romance is a delightful mix of instant chemistry with two very different characters in different Ice cream career settings. The subsequent conflict of business and family interests then blows any hope of their romance developing developing further.
Fortunately there is a rescue dog to mend the sizeable rift, a need to adapt to circumstances outside of their control and the unmistakable chemistry.
I really enjoyed reading this. 5*
I absolutely loved this book. What is not to love when they one ice cream shops. There was so much chemistry and since that kiss in the bathroom they were both whipped. I love the different flavour names. Sabrina got a stray dog I would liked to have seen a bit more of the dog but that might just be me and my obsession with dogs. I was a bit sad about the big time jump I would have liked for them to see each other one last time and Sabrina explaining how she has to go away now. I liked the idea of them opening a shop together and not just ice cream dessert as well.
This was a cute FF romance. I enjoyed it and I loved the story line! This was very good and it was very entertaining.
I just reviewed Peaches and Cream by Georgia Beers. #PeachesandCream #NetGalley

Peaches and Cream is a fresh, new spin on the classic rom-com You’ve Got Mail— except it’s even better because it’s all about ice cream! Readers will find Adley and Sabrina’s romance is completely engaging; there’s no way they won’t be enchanted by these lovely women. Their romantic journey is alluring and irresistible; readers will quickly lose themselves in the story. If you love a well-designed romance, then I’d suggest picking this one up.
Adley’s Love for ice cream started from
A young age when she would help her grandfather in his store and as she got older and took over. Her love for her work grew. Her skill at finding new flavors outshine other stores and made her work unique, sadly her store is struggling financially.
Then there’s Sabrina James. She’s here for the new ice cream store that’s about to open, to relieve some stress, she goes to a bar and finds a woman, that woman is Adley, little do they both know. They are in competition with each other, and it comes crashing down.
This is a fun little romance that made me feel warm and fuzzy, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time. My first Georgia beers book. It won’t be the last!
Georgia Beers' "Peaches and Cream" is a delectable summer romance that hits all the right notes. From the instant spark between Adley Purcell and Sabrina James to the cleverly timed conflicts, this book delivers a satisfying blend of sweet and salty moments.
The immediate chemistry between Adley and Sabrina is palpable and engaging, setting the stage for a captivating romance. The decision to introduce the major conflict midway through the story, rather than saving it for the end, allows their relationship to evolve naturally, providing a deeper emotional connection for readers to savor.
Beers' writing style is smooth and inviting, seamlessly blending heartwarming romance with moments of genuine laughter. The characters' relatable quirks and witty banter make them endearing and relatable.
In "Peaches and Cream," Beers encapsulates the essence of a perfect summer read. This lesbian romance is a delightful fusion of love, humor, and a touch of drama, capturing the magic of summer love and personal growth.
For fans of the genre, "Peaches and Cream" is a must-read. Its immediate chemistry, well-paced conflicts, and charming writing create a memorable and heartwarming experience. Dive into this sweet and enchanting love story that reminds us to savor life's joys, just like starting with dessert first.
Peaches and Cream is another wonderful romance by George Beers. Whenever I learn that Ms. Beers has another book published, I pick it up immediately. She has a way with words that just draws you in and warms your heart. Although this book is not listed as a book in a series, readers will find characters from the book Dance with Me and The Swizzle Stick Romance series.
Adley Purcell is the owner of an ice cream shop, Get the Scoop, which was originally owned by her grandfather. She grew up working alongside her grandfather and learned how to create specialty ice cream. Her creations are fabulous and loved by members of the community. Unfortunately, business has been slow.
Sabrina James is the other main character in this book. She is the VP of Sweet Heaven, a nationally run ice cream company of which her mother is the CEO. Sabrina has been given the task of opening a new branch of Sweet Heaven in the same town as Get the Scoop. Sweet Heaven offers fast service at a cheap price. The opening will surely impact Adley’s shop and possibly force her out of business.
Adley and Sabrina meet one night and there is instant chemistry. They decide not to talk about their work. Instead, they just have a short fling during the time that Sabrina is in town.
I really love the two main characters as well as the supporting characters. The interaction and dialogue are fun. The plot is one which is even paced with no real twists. It is basically a romance with a little drama.
Although this book can be read as a stand-alone book, I believe readers would enjoy reading at least the book, Dance with Me prior to jumping into this one. Either way, you will thoroughly love this book. I rate Peaches and Cream with 5 out of 5 stars.

Peaches and Cream is a whole book devoted to handmade ice cream. If this isn’t about love at its deepest core level, I don’t know what is. But that is just my personal story with this cold and flavourful confection.
Adley’s love for handcrafted ice cream was learned from a young age while working beside her grandfather in his store. Her palate and unique skill for creating new flavours of ice cream has set her shop above the competition’s yet financially she is still struggling.
Sabrina James is only in town until she has the newest franchise up and running for a much loved commercial ice cream parlour. Setting up a no strings attached relationship with Adley as a stress reliever is working perfectly until she realizes she is Adley’s worst nightmare, her business competition.
Adley and Sabrina’s romantic minefield is at the core of this story. Beers creates two charismatic main characters who capture our hearts then masterfully shreds them with this angst driven romance.
Georgia Beers is at her best with Peaches and Cream. A summer read not to be missed.
I received an advance review copy from Bold Strokes Books through NetGalley. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was a cute little read which I enjoyed and would recommend to anyone wanting a light, easy to read sapphic romance. I did find the pacing of the romance a little weird - they were making out instantly, but took ages to move past the lust stage, then there was a big time gap and lots of them not talking or spending any time together which was a bit frustrating. The book also felt a bit stretched out at times and could have been a little faster paced with some elements. But the characters were all pretty likeable, the smut was written quite well and overall I did enjoy this book.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Never have I ever wanted ice cream so many nights in a row!
This is Georgia Beers at her finest. On the surface, the story is classic Beers romance, but for some reason, these characters rang more true for me than any others. Sprinkles was a nice touch, and I could see shades of Archie in him. So he rang pretty true for me as well.
I could feel the angst that built throughout the novel, so much so that I was almost shouting at the main characters to get their act together. A few characters evolved beyond my initial assessments of them, which I was pleased to see. I do so enjoy multi-layered character development! I won't give anything away, but I will tell you that with nods to other characters and places that fans of the author will enjoy...this novel might be Georgia Beers' best work yet!
Another great one from Georgia Beers. Ice cream and romance, what more can a girl want? In short, this is a yummy story! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
Peaches and Cream is the perfect sequel to Dance With Me. Both can be read as a standalone, but it was nice to enter a familiar world. And also the cameos from some of the characters from the Swizzle Stick series put a smile on my face.
In Peaches and Cream we get to know Adley and Sabrina. The story gives a not so subtle nod to the movie You’ve Got Mail, including the starring role for the cute dog, but even with that knowledge the story is fresh and I couldn’t put it down. I hated when real life interrupted and forced me to shift my focus away from it.
Adley is working herself into the ground at her own ice cream shop. She’s a master in developing new flavors and that’s what her customers come to her for. If only more people would step through her door and pay for her brilliance, her shop might have a chance to survive. When a big chain ice cream shop is announced to open a few blocks from Adley’s she feels her grip on her professional life slip even further. What she can control? Her non-existent love life. She doesn’t have time for love, but a hookup? Yeah, that could work. Or not.
Sabrina is traveling the country opening new ice cream shops for her mother’s company Sweet Heaven only staying in town for a few months. When she ends up in Northwood, she feels an undeniable tingle. For the town and for the gorgeous woman she agrees to have a casual fling with. It’s something she has never done before, but why not try it just this once. No work talk, just enjoying each others company. If only Sabrina’s job wasn’t about to put the final nail in the coffin of Adley’s life’s work.
Georgia Beers is a master at her craft.
The desperation Adley feels when her life is crumbling down is palpabele and very relatable. The dialogue is sharp and funny, especially Sabrina’s nervous rambling! The bond between Adley and her best friend Scottie was a central theme in book 1 and it is lovely to see their friendship from Adley’s viewpoint. They really are platonic mates for life. Everyone would be lucky to have a Scottie in her life.
I love that nothing happens in the blink of an eye. It’s slow burn, well, the second time around at least. But it never feels like they are stalling just for the sake of it. The slow building of connection is so natural, as a reader you are just eagerly riding the wave somehow wanting it to slow down and speed up at the same time. And then the spicy scenes..there are not many of those, but ohlala, what is there is definitely enjoyable.
I could go on and on about this story, but essentially it comes down to this: go find the best ice cream shop in your town, buy a pint of their most scrumptious flavor and go find a hammock to devour this story.
Peaches and Cream by Georgia Beers. This is an FF story that is done really well.
I kept getting vibes from You've Got Mail, which is based on the book The Shop Around the Corner. I mean, come on, the big bad new ice cream shop is on Fox St.
Adley Purcell is the owner of Get the Scoop ice cream shop. She is a whiz with creating the perfect flavor blend. And she's taken the shop beyond just a place for kids. But her business acumen is sadly not up to the battle with a national chain Sweet Heaven moving in less than two blocks away. Adley focuses so much on her business that her social life is non-existent and it's time for her to step out of her comfort zone.
Enter Sabrina James, with the classic bar pick up and sparks from the first glance. They are both in a place where "more" isn't possible and decide for no strings, work free zone. Sabrina travels too much and is only in town for a few months. And it's nice to see that miscommunication can happen in any relationship. With instant connection, they burn hot and fast. Then reality comes crashing in, get your tissues ready cause it's likely you're going to get a little weepy right along with the characters at this point.
I really enjoyed the book. There was enough chemistry, and it was an interesting spin on the story.
A sweet comforting easy read. Reminds me of a sapphic take You've Got Mail. The characters were likeable and the icecream shop setting was fun. I found the pacing of the romance a bit weird, they fall in instant lust but then do nothing but make out and think about how hot the other is until about 30% of the way through, they spend most of the book not talking to each other but somehow fell in love. It was a weird mix of instalove and slowburn that didn't work for me. What did work were the best friends and side characters they were great, and I enjoyed the banter between the two leads when they were together. Overall it was fun and enjoyable and I'm glad I read it.
I received this ARC from Netgalley in return for an honest review.
I was drawn into the story instantly and found myself unable to put it down. The main characters were well-developed and likable. The storyline flowed well and didn't seem to have any holes. The banter between the characters was fun and showed the chemistry they had. When it came to spicy scenes, they were written well and didn't feel vulgar. It showed the intimacy beautifully.
Overall, I think the book is a fantastic read, and one I would read again.
I loved this book from the beginning, Peaches and Cream had both things I love: Ice cream and women who like women. This book went from a one night stand love to a enemies to lovers trope and it was done so gracefully. I also love that most of the other relationships mentioned in the book are lesbian relationships and healthy ones at that! 10/10, would totally recommend this book to others.
To start with, I love the premise. A sapphic ice cream romance? Yes, please. Both protagonists were likable and sexy as hell, and they had an electric chemistry between them.
That said, the story dragged at times. Cutting some scenes and/or shortening the timeline might have helped. After starting off with an insta-lust quick burn, all that heat was followed by so much angst. I wanted Adley and Sabrina to deal with their differences far quicker than they did—not necessarily become an official couple, but at the very least communicate with each other. The lag had me feeling like the characters probably should have just moved on to new people with less baggage. Readers who enjoy drawn out delicious pining will find this book an absolute treat, but readers who strongly dislike the break up portion of romance novels may want to skip this.
I received an advanced copy from the publisher and am voluntarily leaving this review.
The sweetest romance!
Adley’s worrying about the future of her family owned ice cream shop when a chain store starts moving in. However she never expected that the mystery woman she met casually one night, Sabrina, is part of the team working for the competing store. When Sabrina discovers who Adley is she panics they’ll lose the lovely relationship they’ve found, even if it is only temporary but when the time comes for her to move to the next location, she realises some things are more important.
I loved this so much! Everything about it was cute and sweet, and even when as all good romances do, the bump in the road was hit and Adley and Sabrina were hurting, cute and wonderful things were stull happening. The instant chemistry they shared was magical and I knew straight away there would be something special in store for them. But when they found out who each other were and things got complicated, I worried that due to both of their natures they might not find a way back to the cosy, intimate, and somewhat enviable closeness they’d found.
My heart completely melted when Sabrina started taking control of her future, making decisions and doing things that had the potential for her and Adley to rekindle. I got really excited and couldn’t help rooting for them as solutions and ideas started to fall into place. By the end I was grinning and squealing with excitement. It was a most infectious story, and if you’re an avid reader of Georgia Beers’ stories or a fan, the little Easter eggs and surprises throughout made the experience of this story all the more special.
Really hope Adley and Sabrina will have future stories, or crop up in others by Georgia as they are just so cute and I am deeply invested in their happiness and thriving success.
This is a story about Adley Purcell who owns an artisan ice cream shop. Adley struggles to make ends meet but loves creating luxury ice cream with quality ingredients. Sabrina James is a marketing executive for a national Ice Cream chain. Sabrina comes to Adley's small NY town to open a new restaurant. They meet up in a bar and its attraction at first sight. The first half of the book they don't discuss their jobs and just enjoy each other. And when the truth comes out....it's pure angst throughout the remainder of the book.
I enjoyed the first half of this book and couldn't wait to get to the end in the second half. The angst went on for a long time and was annoying but actually seemed like real life would be in this situation. I found that to be true of Beers' writing in the books of hers that I have read, she writes about real people living everyday lives.
I'd recommend this to the many Beers fans out there. And it's a follow up to Dance with Me, having the same characters in the background.
ARC received from Net Galley for an honest and voluntary review.
I was hooked from the start with the line "Sweet Jesus on a unicycle, what a kiss"! I loved Adley and Sabrina's instant chemistry. Beers has the perfect romance formula down and this book did not disappoint.
The witty banter, the great side characters(who you might recognize from past books by Beers) and the ice cream. It was a prefect combination of all the great things you would want of of a romance book. I could not put this book down as the chemistry between Adley and Sabrina kicked into high gear right from the start. The twists and turns of the book were well times out and enough suspense to keep me turning the page as fast as I could.
if you love Georgia Beers book, this one will hit the spot.
