ARC Rating 5/5 ⭐️
The Unicorn Legacy is a children's fantasy graphic novel 🦄
The story follows Princess Celeste, of the kingdom of Lemuria, who has to make the long and treacherous journey to the temple of the goddess Aurora. This journey has to be taken every hundred years to keep the kingdom safe and protected. On her way, she meets four other unicorn heiresses.
I really enjoyed the storyline, characters, and amazing artwork. It was cute, sweet, and magical, and the illustrations really brought the story together.
Thank you, NetGalley, Europe Comics, Kid Toussaint & Verónica Álvarez for sending this eARC for review. All opinions are my own.

A very very cute comic!!!
This first volume is just the introduction to the story and the various characters, but it has already hooked me!
I definitely want to know more!
The transformations into magical girls with unicorns as companions are really fantastic and I must say that they made me a child again. I'm sure there will be many little girls who will appreciate this story like me!
The designs and color palette are fantastic and you can see the French school from miles away in this book!
The story is also great and I really hope I can read the sequel soon because it's finished way too fast!
Thanks Netgalley for letting me read this book!
Thank you to Netgalley and Europe Comics for the ARC
This graphic novel was absolutely adorable. My favorite graphic novels are ones with cute stories and cute art and this is exactly that. It follows magical unicorn princesses that have to travel to a temple to wish for protection for their kingdom and the main character wasn't originally supposed to go but her sister fell ill and isn't able to go.
This was super cute and I recommend it.
I really liked Unicorn Legacy! It has a super cute illustration style paired with diverse characters and intriguing plot. Can't wait to read more adventures in the next volumes.
This was the cutest read EVER with the most gorgeous art style!!!
Sometimes you just need to get out of your comfort zone and read a cute little graphic novels about princess and their cute unicorns. This book is about how different heiress of this magic world are send to the temple of the goddess to ask for a wish (and each of them gets a cute unicorn with different superpowers). In the road they have to face some dangers if they want to get to the the temple of the goddess.
READ IF:
-You´re into cute graphic novels
-Need a fast read
-You like unicorns
A beautifully drawn magical girls adventure reminiscent of 80's-90's cartoons!
This book is a refreshing read, starting from the art style which looks both cartoon-y and water color which adds a lot to the dream-like fantasy aesthetic to the already nice story.
With just a few panels it gives us a lot of worldbuilding and explains what we need to now about this simple but awesome adventure.
A princess takes the place of her sister to ask the Goddess for a wish. Sounds simple enough but such quest is not without its obstacles. Fortunately she is protected by the weapons of her country, that will transform her into a magical girl and enlist the help of a magical unicorn to face whatever danger and obstacle might come.
But what is a magical girl without her entourage?
During her travels she will meet a fine cast of diverse characters reminiscent of real world cultures. On top of that they're all princesses that are also Heiricorns which means they're also magical girls and are also on a quest to ask the goddess for a wish.
With a goal in common they cooperate towards achieving it by pure kindness, and the understanding that cooperation will help everyone fulfill their mission.
We will read the backstory of some of them that will help us understand the reason of why she started her quest and we will also meet the common evil and the witch who commands the evil Orkons set to destroy the kingdoms.
A simple easy read that wont bore you and will entertain girls (and boys!) of any age with its charming characters. Familiar yet quite original on both designs and story, with a small wink to Lost continents real and speculated alike. This is something you shouldn't want to miss and as for me? I'll be sure of getting a physical copy for myself and one to donate!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a copy of this eARC in exchange for a reviews.
This was such a cute read short but sweet I would recommend and read other material from this author.
This was a short and sweet read, and I honestly had fun with it! It's definitely aimed at a younger audience, and I can really see this working for younger readers. My favorite part was the art style, for sure, and I loved how well it paired with the magical setting and unicorn transformations. I always love stories that deal with transformation magic, because there are always such cool outfits and powers that come with it! This was definitely just an introduction to the world, and was therefore quite simple and straightforward, but I can still see this turning into a fantastic story later on. Overall, a strong introduction to the world paired with a really pretty art style!
I personally enjoyed this full color graphic novel. The artstyle suited the story and characters perfectly and helped create a fun world for younger readers to start exploring. This is a rather short book at 80 pages, so it is best suited for middle grade readers. The magical girl component reminds me of my favorite anime from childhood like Sailor Moon. Paired with unicorns, another childhood favorite, this was a delight to read.
This was a fun story. I liked the different heiress designs and their unicorns. The story was nothing new, but I still enjoyed it enough. Definitely want to read the rest of the books in the series when they come out.
Thank you NetGalley for gifting me a copy of this book.
This book was very easy to read, cute and the drawings were stunning!
I would definitely read the next books in the series as the end promised us a new book with action in it.
I would 100% recommend it.
Review to come to my blog somewhere in September, and also on Goodreads then. I just don't have an earlier slot, July is full. August is mostly my vacation month. September is filling up fast.
I received this book from Netgalley/publisher in exchange of an honest review.
I just HAD to click on the read now button when I saw this one along with other graphic novels by Europe Comics. I mean Unicorn girls? Sign me up! And that blurb also sounds interesting. I am always in the mood for more fantasy and unicorn magic.
PLUS, I am happy to say that this 4 book is also not a dud! That means 2 were and 2 weren't. That makes me happy, I was so worried when the first two graphic novels I wanted to read were duds.
In this gorgeous, really GORGEOUS, graphic novel we follow the heiricorns, aka the unicorn heiresses. For a while we follow Celeste, princess of Lemuria. Well, officially it was her sister's journey, but she is sick so it is up to Celeste to go to the temple of the goddess and do her wish/prayer. I did think it was interesting that Celeste didn't seem to know much about her heritage, mostly just doing it away as dreams/fantasies, until the moment that she needs her inner unicorn and finds out everything is actually true!
But after that introduction, including an introduction to another heiricorn (or is she, because given what we see I have some doubts) we just travel to another realm to meet another heiricorn and see them start their journey and then we are back to Nell/Celeste and then we meet another heiricorn, see the heiricorn from the previous part, and oh yes, there are halflings and they are baddies and there is a fight, and so on. I was just so confused. I mean, it just didn't flow. It just didn't match together. It felt like separate chapters/parts being slotted together only not neat and tidy, but just disorganised. I mean, I just would have rather had more flow. Better introductions. Less BOOM BOOM BOOM here is the next part. I think this one may just work a bit better as animation rather than a book.
I am curious about the baddie at the end, that is the one we were warned for, and I wonder what her motivations are (I mean, every baddie has one, right). I do love her character design, so ominous!
Despite this, I am still curious about what is next for these girls + also what will happen now the baddie knows about their journey! I love the transformation of the girls and see their unicorns, I love how inventive they are and how they kick some major butt. I love that we get some extra character information at the end for Celeste and Rama along with their wishes, countries, and unicorns, I am guessing that in the next volumes we will learn of the others.
And the art, OMG the art! That was just absolutely gorgeous, I love the colours used, and I love how diverse the cast is.
But yeah, I cannot rate it more than 3 stars because the story just popped from one to another thing. If the story was just a bit better this could have easily been 4 stars!
The artwork in this book is just so beautiful and cute! The story may be a little juvenile for my age range (though I'm not the target), but I really enjoyed it.
Would love to read more volumes for a fun, quick and cute read!
Thank you NetGalley and Europe Comics for a copy of The Unicorn Legacy.
"Every hundred years, the kingdom of Lemuria sends its heiress to the temple of the goddess Aurora to ask for her protection and to make a wish. For the new heiress, Celeste, the road will be long and full of pitfalls, but she is endowed with the arms of Lemuria as well as the unicorn Sadalbari. What she doesn’t yet know is that her glorious destiny is not unique: she will share it with four other unicorn heiresses…"
How gorgeous is this book?!? I'd love to print a few of the pages and frame them! The art is that beautiful, and both adults and children will just adore it. I did find that it needed more pages to develop the story better, but the shortness did make me want a second volume.
This was a cute quick read perfect for younger kids and adults who love stories with a bit of magic ✨
The Unicorn Legacy follows the journey of 5 confirmed heiresses (and one unicorn fan girl) as they travel to the temple of the Goddess to seek out a request and a wish. The story stars out with Celeste, who was not actually raised to be the heiress. However, her older sister is I’ll and she must take up the quest. Along the way she meets other heiresses who are also travelling to the temple.
The story for this graphic novel is quite compelling! Each of the characters quite noticeably have their own motivations and reasons for being there. The lore and setup is also quite interesting. Each heiress represents a different kingdom and each kingdom has their own way of selecting the heiress.
The art style is absolutely beautiful as well. Very colourful and detailed. I like that each character has their own distinct design. Plus the unicorns look so cool!
I definitely get some Friendship is Magic vibes from this. And I think that’s fabulous! The book leaves off on a bit of a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the best one!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my honest review.
Not going to lie, I requested this book especially because of the cover, it’s so pretty, kind of reminded me a little bit of She-ra and The Princesses of Power, and I’m obsessed with the show so I had to read The Unicorn Legacy, while the story is vastly different I was pleasantly surprise by how much I enjoyed this graphic novel, the illustrations were definitely the highlight of the book but the story is also very compelling, i couldn’t stop reading into the very end, I was so very involved in Celeste’s journey
Celeste is a princess of Lemuria and is undertaken with the task to make a lonely trek to the temple of the Goddess to ask for protection for the kingdom and make a personal wish.
During her journey she encounters dangers and adventures but also friendship with other princesses who has the same goals as Celeste.
I really loved this graphic novel and I can’t wait to read the next one, especially after that cliffhanger!
This was adorable, I loved the illustrations and the characters, they were so lovable, I’m definitely going to read the next one.
Despite the fact that the illustrations are beautiful and remind me of my favorite childhood characters, where the girls had superpowers and fought against villains, I think the story is immature even for a child audience. With a somewhat superficial and silly female character. I think the story could have been much more engaging.
