Gritty thriller with plenty of twists. Strong characters and a topical storyline help make this a good read.
Atmospheric, Tense..
The second in the Riley Fisher series, coming on the heels of The Fields, finds Des Moines, Iowa, amidst a chilling winter period but an even bleaker situation. A serial killer known as the Sin Eater is stalking the city, targeting women, and people are blinded with fear - just as Riley is reporting for her first FBI role. Atmospheric, tense and menacing, the beautifully written narrative is gripping and the plot both pacy and suspenseful as well as being populated with a wholly credible cast. A superb follow up to the first in this well written series.
I loved The Fields so was very much looking forward to Original Sins and it did not disappoint.
Riley is back, starring out with the FBI and immediately facing all kinds of problems. The narrative is tense, atmospheric and emotional, a bit of a literary page turner.
The mystery element is beautifully done. I hope Riley has a long bookish career - the writing is fantastic and I highly recommend it.
