This was a very cute book! I enjoyed reading it but could not get over a sense a deja vu. A lot of the plot felt like something familiar or that I had read before.. The book also jumped around quite a bit. I feel a different title would have been more appropriate.

Another Time, Another Place by Jo Lovett

The perfect summer romance read that doesn’t need to be read in the summer to be throughly enjoyed. “I love a man who has excellent taste in crisps.” Same, sis, same.

Hailed as a page-turning, feel-good, romcom this book is dual POV and a wonderful yet emotional read. As someone who crossed paths many, many times with her husband before they met to date, this story hit a relatability note for me. I couldn’t help but root for these characters, so let me introduce you.

Readers meet Liv and Evan. Trapped in a shed together (all thanks to a cat, but cats are the best), their chemistry is undeniable. Circumstances, however, dictate that they are not meant to be. Their paths continue to cross and are graced with the same chemistry from the shed. Will they end up together, or will they be forced to pass by one another for the rest of their lives?

Thank you to Rachel’s Random Resources for providing me with a digital ARC via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Liv is moving to Paris for her job, not because she has to but because she's kind of forced into a situation she didn't want. While recycling old clothes she and a stranger find themselves inadvertently locked in a shed while trying to rescue a cat. As they wait for help, the more they talk, the more Liv realizes the instant connection they have. It feels like fate but the timing is wrong. Over the next eight years Liv and Ben find themselves in the wrong situation even though fate throws them together time and again.

While plots like this one can seem repetitive and frustrating, this one was different in that their meetings seems to draw them ever closer, and it becomes clear that something is holding Ben back. I loved the way the story wrapped up. It's a feel-good, charming book.

Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the story of Liv and Ben, whose chance encounter in a shed, while attempting to rescue a cat, sparks an immediate and undeniable connection. It feels like fate has brought them together, but the timing is all wrong. Ben has a girlfriend, and Liv is set to move from London to Paris the following day.

As the years pass, Liv and Ben's lives continue to intersect briefly but never at the right moment for them to be together. Their paths weave in and out of each other's lives, leaving them with a lingering sense of what might have been.

Will fate ever bring Liv and Ben together for a chance at happiness?

Ben and Liv's odd meet-cute in a shed starts an 8-year rollercoaster. 'It's not only chemistry, it's timing,' says Paris-bound Liv and taken Ben.

The plot moves through fate's disruption, making you long for their union. Ice cream fusion as well as dating issues - realistic, charming, and unputdownable!

Really loved reading this book, an entertaining romance and was an easy read. I was grabbed by the very first page. Well worth 5 stars

Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC

A one-sitting read for me: I was sucked in with the meet cute in the hut and kept going because of their chemistry and banter, but also because I couldn't figure out why they couldn't just be together! Initially I was frustrated with Liv and then at Ben for keeping them apart, but we know the HEA is coming in a romance book, and I loved it when it happened. A sweet and funny fated mates story, and a writing style I'll enjoy reading again.

Another Time, Another Place by Jo Lovett

Liv and Ben spend 8 years running into each other, avoiding each other and trying to deny their undeniable connection. My feelings are very mixed on this one! There were parts I absolutely adored and other parts that made me frustrated, and a good chunk that was boring. I loved when they were together, their banter and overwhelming chemistry was entertaining. But the actual storyline was a bit of a miss.

Thank you to Boldwood Books for my copy on @netgalley!

I couldn't wait to read Lovett's new book, as I've enjoyed her previous books, but I was a bit disappointed by this one. Eight years was too long, and the plot felt too contrived. I just couldn't understand why they couldn't be together. I didn't really like Ben either. His actions towards the end of the book were harsh. Who does that? Why couldn't he just speak to Liv, let her decide? To be honest, I don't think Lovett wrote enough to convince me that this couple should be together. On the plus side, I like Lovett's writing style. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a great romance book. This is a great trope that I like, where they are ment to be but time and place aren't right. Loved it!

I liked this book well enough, but jeepers EIGHT YEARS! I would have liked it better if it had been four years. Some of the best romances are based on lack of communication but 8 years got to be ridiculous. I found myself powering through the book just trying to figure out what was Ben's secret. I guessed half of it, the other half was a surprise. But man, if he had just talked to Jo earlier and let her make her own decision. I did love the scene in the Lake District where Jo was getting increasingly incensed and driving back and forth. She was great when she got her gumption up!

I adored this will they wont they romance. It was heart warming and captivating.

It starts off Ben and Liv meeting by getting locked in a shed. This was the perfect meet cute. A great first meeting with instant chemistry.

However Liv is moving to Paris the next day and Ben has a girlfriend.

It’s the classic “If you have chemistry you only need one other thing – timing” I am a firm believer in that so I loved this book. Ben and Liv had such a great deep connection I really wished things were different.

Its told over 8 years, with both living their life but they kept bumping into each other. Oh I do love fate 😊
It left me thinking why don’t they just get together. It was intriguing and really left me wanting more to know what was going on.

There was some super cute moments, where I don’t want to give spoilers but one week was so lovely. I also liked how we all over think at times when dating, it confuses us so it was refreshing to read how Liv was, as we have all been there. I liked how some parts were told from Ben too so you got an insight into his thoughts too.

I liked Liv’s friendship group and the fact she was a twin (like me). They had a nice bond and I liked hearing how they all were throughout the story.

There was a food element to it too which I liked and need to try the ice cream combo of; cherry, coconut and peanut butter. Sounds delicious !

If you are like me love romance, believe in fate, love a strong connection in a book then I definitely recommend this. It’s the perfect book to read in the sunshine with a nice glass of rose and get lost in.

Wanted to like this, but grew exasperated pretty quickly with Liv for how much she was pushing Ben away. It just seems like the eight years they spend apart happened not organically but because Liv was waffling throughout and that got a tad exhausting to read about at some point. On the whole, the entire 'them being apart' time felt forced and not at all like Fate was having a hand throughout. Shame, because it had real good potential and Jo Lovett writes with a beautiful, flowing, and easy to read voice

Yowsa! Eight years of waiting. This book read like One Day which I reviewed years ago. However, the ending was much better.

Liv and Ben are strangers who met by accident locked in an abandoned building. The attraction is instant, but the timing is bad. Over the course of eight years, fate has brought them together sometimes across a crowded station, sometimes at a party, and lastly avoiding wedding celebrations for friends and family where the connection is finally acted upon. Then after six unforgettable nights and a loving admission from Ben, he disappears. WTF?!  With a plethora of emotions hitting her all at once, Liv is determined to get closure, but she knows very little about Ben. Can she find him? What is he hiding?

Liv is a foody who has finally found her dream job and she has a good support system of family and friends. Liv is smart, fun, and independent. I respect how she bounces back from setbacks and moves on. Her persistence to learn the truth about Ben's secrets is another admirable trait about her after he ghosts her. Ben is reserved, kind, and conflicted. He fell in love with Liv at first sight, but he can't be with her. Is it a good reason? Perhaps, but I can't give the secret away, so you'll have to determine that yourself by reading the book.

This love story is slow at first as we watch Liv grow and become a confident and savvy woman. The chemistry between Liv and Ben is very strong. Watching them fight it and form misunderstandings that keep them apart way too long is frustrating, but I couldn't wait to find out what Ben was concealing.

If you believe in fate and love at first sight, give this captivating story a try. You won't be able to put it down.

Thank you to Ms. Lovett for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

Jo’s books just keep getting better and better the more I read them!

This was escapism at its best, I pretty much read this in a couple of days! The characters are engaging and
The story is told from the two main characters points of view ben and liv. The story is about serendipity and fate and of missed opportunities it also covers some sensitive real life issues.

Thanks #netgalley for the opportunity to read this

Do you believe in fate ?
Liv and Ben continue to meet up over the years despite it never being the right time and I must admit I was willing for them to spend longer together and finally get to know eachother.
Both Liv and Ben seem perfect for eachother and the chemistry from the very beginning in the hut is not to be forgotten. From the very start this story is full of hope and I loved following them both on their journey.
A really enjoyable fast paced read.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'Another Time, Another Place' by Jo Lovett.

Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Jo Lovett, Book And Tonic, Boldwood Books and Rachel's Random resources Tours.

Publication date 8th August 2023.

This is the fifth book I have read by this author. I have previously read 'The House Swap', 'The First Time We Met', 'The Mistletoe Pact' and 'Just Friends' which I would also highly recommend.

This novel consists of 36 chapters and an epilogue. The chapters are medium in length so easy to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! Absolutely LOVED this book. Yet another stunner by the very talented Jo!!!

Awww!!! Absolutely perfect!!! Another absolutely gorgeous book from the amazing Jo Lovett!!! Absolutely stunningly romcom heartwarmer!!!

The storyline is authentic and realistic as well as easy to read and heartwarming. I loved it straight away and was hooked immediately!!! A true heart warning, addictive page turner!! It was fast paced with plenty of events going on throughout and it kept me hooked from start to end, I read it in one sitting. It really made me feel like I was with Liv and Ben throughout the storyline going through all the emotions with them. The storyline was filled with a range of emotions and was heartwarming, devastating and had lost and new love, relationships, friendship and history all going on in this beautiful book. It felt like a lovely break away from a rainy Wales!! It made me laugh, cry and filled me with a warm fuzzy feeling all at different times. I loved how the story ended!!! If you are planning to read this I would definitely recommend clearing your schedules. It is perfect to read curled up on the sofa in front of the fire with a nice hot chocolate or cup of tea. I was completely absorbed in the realistic storyline and although it was filled with love, romance and happiness there was definitely some suspense, tension but also loads of laughter in the air!! It is one of those books that once I became absorbed in the gorgeous storyline there was no chance I was putting it down and I devoured it in several hours!!! This would make an absolutely stunning movie which I would love to see come to the big screen!!!

Clear your schedules as you won't be able to put this stunner down once your hooked!!

The characters were all unique with their own realistic traits, strengths and weaknesses. It was intriguing to watch Ben and Liv's friendship and relationship grow, develop and change throughout the the storyline. I loved the multiple perspectives that we get to see from both of the main characters so we can see how each of them feel and what they are doing. It made me feel like I got to know them more individually and Jo weaves the chapters together perfectly! I think it's so cute how they first met 8 years ago but for one reason or another the timing was never right regardless of how they felt for each other. Each of the main and background charactersnhad their own unique personalities and each left their own impressions on me. I became completely invested in Ben and Liv and was quite sad to come to the end and say goodbye to them. Jo's fantastic evocative writing skills really brought them all to life along with the storyline. All characters worked perfectly with the storyline and I would love to meet them again and hope to see this made into a series or even a movie!!!

Congratulations Jo on yet another absolutely fantastic rom com heart warmer. There's a good reason you are one of my favourite authors and this amazing page turner is just one of them!!! Here's to yet another success 🥂!!!

Overall a heart warming page turner filled love, comedy, friendship and everything you could want in an epic rom com!!
