An adorable rom-com that actually pulls a punch every so often. With a funny “meet-cute” we chart the ups and downs of the lives of both Ben and Liv. We see how their lives play out, both moving forward over the following months and years, friendships, love interests, careers changes. At various, random moments they come across each other, a bar at New Years, a work meeting; the connection and chemistry is electrifying.
The story plays out from both characters perspectives, we know that they are both not entirely being honest with the other.
It’s well written, and the pace is good so much so you won’t realise just how quickly you are reading, you will be so engrossed in the characters and the will they wont they plot.
A cosy read, heartfelt yet funny – I could see it play out as a film!
Thank you Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the ARC for my honest review.
This book wasn't my cup of tea. The meet cute was fun, though I wish the cat came back in their lives. I didn't feel chemistry between Liv and Ben. It felt a little paint by numbers romance novel.
dnf'ed at 27%. This one started out super cute but kinda started falling pretty flat for me & by about 20% of the way in I just felt like I didn't know where it was headed or going & wasn't really loving it. Cute read but felt a little to slow for me & kept fast forwarding so many dates that I hadn't gotten to a present part (if there is one).
Well this was adorable, I was captivated by the plot and the characters, reading it all in one sitting. I'm definitely going to check out Jo's other books after enjoying this one!

Thoughts
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the hope and longing for each other throughout the years, and the incredible chemistry they have together. At times I was shouting in my head to 'just communicate with each other'!
It's dual POV which I loved, as we saw insight into both Ben and Liv's feelings, and how they longed for each other over the 8 years - both of them are very likeable characters.
Overall, this is a perfect summer romance and such a cute read.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book,
If you enjoyed the movie ‘serendipity’ you’ll like this dual pov book that follows the love story of two characters who meet and whose lives are intertwined in mysterious ways. It was a fun and easy read, I enjoyed it!
"Another Time, Another Place" by Jo Lovett is a captivating and bittersweet romance that explores the complexities of timing and fate. Liv and Ben's serendipitous meeting in a shed creates an instant connection, but circumstances keep them apart. With Ben in a relationship and Liv moving to Paris, their lives intersect intermittently over the years. Lovett beautifully portrays the hope and longing as they continuously miss each other. The novel tugs at the heartstrings, leaving readers rooting for their eventual union. Full of tender moments and missed opportunities, this poignant tale reminds us that some connections are worth waiting for, no matter the obstacles.
This book was genuinely the tonic I needed. Easy to read, easy to get into, easy to love the characters. It is light and engaging and a proper 'feel good' story, with a nice dose of frustration thrown in.
The quickest book I have read in a while, simply because I couldn't put it down.
Very highly recommended.
It's a delightful, engrossing love story! One of those which you finish in a single sitting (except gone are those days, but I finished it in 30 hours.
It's a good story, thoughtful at certain instances. I really liked Jo's previous books, 'The First Time We Met' and 'The House Swap'. I like her conversational writing style; it's engaging and keeps you hooked. I loved Liv and Ben and their sizzling chemistry (I could almost feel the spark). Their conversations are very interesting. I was actually looking forward to their meetings.
The story is told from dual points of view. Well, mostly from Liv's point of view but Ben's pov has been used smartly. I was thinking, 'Now, it should be Ben's pov.' and Bingo!
There's a hint of mystery throughout, and the revelations (especially the first one) were unpredictable.
A few things that bothered me: it's repetitive sometimes, especially towards the end. Especially, the final conversation between Ben and Liv (even the epilogue) required depth; it needed to be thoughtful and emotional, but Liv is saying the same thing again and again, a bit childishly, like they're discussing some frivolous matter.
And, although I like conversational style of writing, sometimes the author goes overboard, explaining everything in brackets and all that. These things take away the crispness of writing. I think it requires another round of editing.
Nevertheless, it was a lovely engrossing read.
Thank you Netgalley and Boldwood Books.
Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read Another Time, Another Place by Jo Lovett. I very much enjoyed Ben and Liv's story.
Thanks so much Boldwood Books and NetGalley.
Liv and Ben are strangers and find themselves locked in a shed after rescuing a cat. She finds him attractive and thinks he is flirting with her. However, nothing can happen because she's moving to Paris and he has a girlfriend. Over the years they keep bumping into each other. Is this fate? What is supposed to happen.
This was a fun and sometimes frustrating read. I really liked both Liv and Ben and wanted to yell at both them at times. I did not expect the ending, but it was satisfying. The writing was really great in this, even if at times the plot felt a little long. The story is funny and Liv is a really great character. Ben seemed like a decent guy too. It's much easier to root for characters when they are both likable.
4 1/2
A very clever love story. The twists that held up Liv and Ben meeting and the ending were fab. How they met was fun. Very well written and not a predictable book at all . I loved it.
An ideal summer read. Hooked by the premise but didn't quite deliver the promise. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.
This book gives a lot of November 9 vibes with the main characters meeting throughout the 8 years that they know eachother. I have to say I was a little caught up on the s in words that I am used to having z in but overall I enjoyed the story and the pace the book was written in. I think that the plot line was solid and it is a cute read that took me 1 1/2 days to read. I would definitely read another book by this author again. Thank for allowing me to read :)
This was cute and witty and a lovely summer romance. I'm not the biggest fan of instant connection, but I can see the appeal and would have loved to read this by the pool.
