This was good fun as usual the main character was feisty and externally witty. There was a fair bit of miscommunication in this book which I am not usually a fan of but this was done quite well and wasn’t too infuriating. Overall this wasn’t my favourite of Kimberly’s books as I would have liked a more developed plot but it was a good quick read.

I enjoyed this book better than I thought I would, and certainly better than the first one in the series.
I really liked how absurd, yet funny, every single aspect of the book is: from the main characters to the plot, from the setting to the unconventional sidekicks.

I believe this could be the perfect easy light beach read for the monster-lover reader, it's cute, it's lighthearted and it's sexy.

I especially loved the MMC, he was so cute all worried about possibly hurting Cherry and constantly "calling" his mates to ask for advice, it felt like when the stereotypical girl is chatting with a boy and all her messages are written and pre-approved by the group-chat.

Thank you NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review.

Kimberly Lemming did it again! This is probably my favourite of the main 3 Mead Mishaps novels.
This novel has the perfect ratio of adventure, brattiness and spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Dante and Cherry are great together and I love that all 3 stories are intertwined.

The narrator for the audiobook is perfect and suits the characters perfectly.

Who wouldn’t want to go off on a grand adventure with a bunch of hot heroes also chosen by the goddess?” Me bitches. No, thank you. Biceps are nice, but so is not having my guts eaten by an orc.

Thank you to Quercus Audio for providing the audio arc in exchange for a review!

Turns out being trapped in a tower guarded by a fierce dragon isn’t at all as romantic as the fairytales make out. A grumpy, untalkative dragon, a cook that will force feed if needed, and talking to walls is not fun.
Then a new dragon shows up and ‘rescues her’ (steals her away), but has she just traded one tower for another more lavish one?

Confession: I haven’t read any of Lemming’s previous books in this series, but apparently each one works as a stand-alone and my friend had raved about the first two so I was persuaded to give this one a go.
I can testify it does work with no prior knowledge! Yet, I would recommend reading it in order as there were references as revelations which would have worked a lot better having read the first two!

This was pure bubblegum fun which saw me giggling to myself as I drove to and from work.
We have a drunk and drugged dragon conversing with bananas, lessons on how to interact with humans, top-notch sassy banter….

This takes ‘touch her and you die’ and ‘my wife’ to the next level.

The narrator was perfect for this role. The southern drawl, the pitch, voice, and feeling. Heck, even her sultry voice was amazing and those parts normally make me feel icky.

The castle was like from Beauty and the Beast with magical lighting candles, a huge library, endless corridors…
Imagine a modern gal ending up in a fairytale and offering her very sardonic and sarcastic commentary.

The lack of world-building did bother me, but maybe if I read the first two, I would be better informed. Also, I didn’t go in with high expectations of this - I went in expecting a quick, funny book where a dragon gets drunk and saves a human and they hopefully fall in love along the way.

The first 25% was amazing, but then I felt my attention drifting and it hard to invest as the same things kept being brought up and it felt repetitive.
And the ending was just kinda lacklustre. Definitely expect a book 4.
I am interested in the other two now though as my brain can’t stand plot holes.

This is a series I’ve been meaning to pick up for a while as the titles are always so fun. I’ve still not picked up the already published titles, but when I saw the audiobook of this was available on NetGalley, I just had to request it. Fortunately, each of these books can be read as a standalone so if you don’t mind reading books out of order, you could start with this one if you wanted.

In this one, we follow Cherry and Dante. Cherry is a human woman who had been stuck in a tower with a dragon guarding her, and Dante is another dragon who has gone out in search of his mate and the hope of improving his kingdom. When Dante meets Cherry, she decides that he’ll be her way out and she decides to drug him. Unfortunately, he’d already decided to save her and the chaos that ensues means that his courting of her winds up being a bit of a whirlwind.

I’ve seen some other reviews saying that it is best to read the other books first. And if I had, I might be reviewing this differently. But I was still able to enjoy this book with it being the first I’ve read.

This series is exactly as fun as it sounds. Talking swords, dangerous creatures that look cute and a book that records monsters’ penis sizes as well as their general information. It was a hell of a lot of fun and made me laugh a lot. It wasn’t a book that I devoured, I read it over a few days and was happy with that. But it has made me want to read more.

Some of the mate stuff in this was a little icky for me, but I know that’s my personal opinion over anything else. But that aside, I did like the romance. Dante was quite happy to worship Cherry’s body even in a public maze, and it made for an entertaining time. I do think that the romance felt a little fast, but hey, it’s a short read so I won’t hold that against it.

As I read this in audio I will talk a little about that. This book has a solo narrator, something I’m not really fond of in a book with multiple perspectives. But at least the voices she did for Dante and Cherry did sound very different. It was easy to pick up who she was reading as if you fade out, so that was a bonus. But I wouldn’t necessarily say this was a great audiobook. It was an enjoyable read and a serviceable audiobook. But I’d say you’d have the same enjoyment reading this physically as you would in audio.

All in all, I had fun with this book and I do recommend it.

I was really excited for this book having read the others in the series... however for no actual reason in particular I bought it and never got around to it... enter Netgalley and an audiobook arc so I finally got around to it...

I really should have just read it back when I got it because of course I liked it. It’s a ridiculous and fun series that I’m fairly certain I’ve given 5 stars to every book. This one was obviously no different

Knowing this book was about Cherry my first question was how is that possible when she’s supposed to be dead? Obviously she’s not but how she ended up where she was ended up being both sad and infuriating. I loved Cherry and Dante and I did find it funny that she kept refusing to tell him where she was from which would have made things much easier. All the advice he was getting from his friends was hilarious. I was not surprised Alexis found her way into this book it is rather a given at this point. It’s a fun book with an adventure some romance and a lot of chaos.

I hope there is more books in this series... Usha deserves a story... The only question I have though is where did the cat come from and why was she following Dante around anyway?

Love the book and the narration was perfect.

This was a funny, entertaining fantasy romp. Really liked Cherry and Dante and they had good chemistry and it was fun watching the, work their way to a happy ending. Colourful cast of supporting characters and a wacky fantasy world made for a fun read/listen. 3.5 ⭐️.

I think this was my favorite of the Mead Mishaps series. This book has been the most fun for me because the group dynamics with the characters from the previous book was simply hilarious. Any conversation between Dante and the rest of the gang were my favorite parts and don’t even get me started on the pirate crew giving relationship advice, I laughed so hard at this. Dante and Felix’s grumpy/sunshine vibe was extremely funny and the biting humor from Cherry was chef’s kiss.

Although I had the impression there were less spicy scenes comparatively than in the previous books, the sexual tension was fun to read and very well-done, and the drawing out of the relationship made it evolve in a very organic way.

The only thing I didn’t like bought in was the resolution with Gideon, that felt a bit easy comparing to their history. I also didn’t really love the way the narrator did Dante’s chapters, but this is specific to the audiobook, not the writing itself.

I can’t wait to see these characters again.

I'm not gonna lie, I think it was a mistake going into this not having read the first two books in the series, as I had a hard time getting into the world this takes place in. I'm sure your enjoyment of this would be much elevated if you read the series in order, and this is more my mistake than the book's, I just thought that since the couple is different in every book in the series they can be read as standalones.

ere absolutely delightful and it was so nice to see Dante get his happily ever after!
It gets extra point for all the moments with the characters from the other books in the series!

Kimberly Lemming writes such fun books! This is book 3 in the Mead Mishaps series and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I listened to the audio book of this while I did DIY and the time flew by.
If you want a fun, spicy, slightly bonkers romance between a human and a dragon this is the book for you!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a free eARC of this book

Not much happens in this story until the very end. I haven't read the other books in the series, on the understanding that there is a new romance/couple per book; but I suspect I would have enjoyed it more had I read book 1 and 2 first, since most of the world building obviously happened in the earlier books. I can't lie, this book struggled to hold my attention at times, but thanks anyway to NetGallery and Quercus Audio for allowing me to get a copy of the audio book.

I loved the all the previous Mead Mishaps books so theres no surpise that this is another 5 star.
The romamce, world building, banter, and the spice are all so well done. This book had me laughing out loud so much, and I can't wait to spend more time in this world.
Hazel Addison does such a great job narrating and adds so much to the story.
If you're a fantasy fan and in need of a spicy romcom, definitely pick these up!

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human is the third book in the Mead Mishaps series by Kimberly Lemming. If you’re a fan of the series, I think you’ll enjoy this latest edition. This one might be my favorite of the series, I liked it even better than the first one.

The series as a whole is so fun, and this one is no exception. We are following Dante, a dragon and side character in the previous books, on his quest to find his mate. Along the way, we get to see some of the characters from the previous books, which was nice. I like how connected everything is in the series. There’s a lot of the funniness of the previous books as well as the spice. However, there’s also a lot of miscommunication between our two main characters which got to be annoying at some parts.

This audio book was narrated by Hazel Addison. This is the same narrator who did the first book which I also listened to as an audiobook. I really like this narrator and think she does a good job with doing the different chapters in different voices as we’re switching points of use.

Light, cute and fluffy. I think I might have got more from this if I'd read the rest of the series first but it was an enjoyable romp

These books are just a delight! This was the first one I listened to on audio and honestly it just makes them even more enjoyable to read. The characters are all so clever and yet such lovable dummies at the same time. They are so different to other books I read, and it’s so refreshing! This story definitely builds on the stories from previous books and the Christmas novella (aka Alexis returns!) so I definitely recommend reading the first two books before starting this one. Definitely one of my fave spicy novella series when you want something spicy that will cure your book slump & give you a good laugh.

I've heard a lot about this series, but this is the first book I've ever read in the series. It was mildly amusing, and I really like the cozy vibes but the only thing I didn't love about this was the really rushed and abrupt ending. Thanks to Netgalley for ALC. My review is unbiased.

I love this series so much and this was so so cute!

While longer than the other books I thought it was a positive and we got so much more background - this although a little insta love was so sweet with Dante's useless attempts at trying to get Cherry to fall for them. Loved the cameos of all my favourites from the other books and I absolutely howled with laughter and adored the advice from the other mated couples.

This was so cozy and I couldn't stop smiling- Kimberley Lemming is an absolute Joy who must be protected at all costs, I am also an absolute sucker for fated mates in any book.

The narration was great- I listen at 2x speed and above and the narration remained super clear and I lost none of the emotion or story- great job.

This was 4.5 stars for me!

Really enjoyed this romantasy. I always like fated mates/he falls first.

The characters had chemistry and, even though it was insta lust, there was slow burn tension.

This was a fun read. Will definitely read more from Kimberly.

A quick paced funny fantasy with a dash of spice. I haven’t read the two preceding books but I was able to follow along with the plot. My only criticism is that with the light fantasy vibe, the language used during the more adult scenes felt a little crass. Really enjoyed and will be adding the others to my TBR.
