This book is infectiously happy. I feel like I was constantly smiling and laughing whilst reading. Which surprised me - I didn’t expect I’d love River’s story this much or that he’d be such an endearing character. He’s honestly one of the most hilarious characters I’ve ever read.
I loved the previous two books in the series, and this was a lovely one to finish on. Jade and River truly felt like two soulmates meant to be together ❤️
What to expect:
- slow burn
- no spice, but amazing chemistry
- she’s engaged to someone else
- 80s/90s vibes
- friends to lovers
Quick Summary: A Say Anything wo-fi romance
My Review: Stuck With You by Aimee Brown was a sigh and a smile kind of story. It was Never Been Kissed with a touch of Serendipity. It was sweetness and humor. It was hearts and stars. I absolutely loved it!
About the Book: Timing is everything. Jade and River didn't get it right the first time they were around each other. Still, they became close friends. When they faked an engagement, little did they know they would get a second chance at their very own love story.
My Final Say: Oh my goodness, this book was so adorable. It was quirky and brilliant all at the same time. That ending was "Kiss Me" cuteness. Readers who love that famous John Cusack boom box scene will totally fall for this one.

Appreciation is extended to the author, to the publisher (Boldwood Books), and to NetGalley, who provided access to this title in exchange for an honest review.
thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.
Jade has just gotten engaged to Connor who disappears back to his life at med school without communicating to her. Jade turns to her friends and family to help her sort through her emotions. River is recovering from a nasty break up years ago and doesn’t understand why Jade is so attached to someone who treats her badly. Jade and River become closer as friends but will it turn into something more.
The characters were fantastic in this book. Really interesting and quirky. This is a very gentle low stakes romance with a slow friends to lovers vibe.
This wasn’t my cup of tea. I really wanted Jade to dump Connor in the first few chapters.
If you like indecisive fmc and quirky romantic 80s films and gestures this is the book for you.
Thank you to the author, publisher and netgalley for the opportunity to read this book early. All thoughts are my own.
Lovely book filled with lovely characters. Jade and Conner have just got engaged. Jade feels that she has everything that she ever dreamed off. But then disappears. So she ends up getting closer to one of her guy friends. Pretending to be engaged to him until a real relationship begins to develop. Was she engaged to the wrong guy after all.
I loved this book from the first chapter. It was fun and quirky and had some great references. The cover made me know I wanted to read and enjoy .
I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This was a nice read for my summer holiday. Interesting but not too heavy.
This is a delightful romantic comedy that had me smiling pretty much from beginning to end. The characters were well-developed and endearing and you can't help but fall in love with them. Jade has just recently gotten engaged to her boyfriend Conner, and believes she's finally met the right guy and her life is falling into place. But then Conner just up leaves without an explanation, and without any contact whatsoever. As Jade tries to work through what is happening, she begins spending more time and talking with her friend River. Their friendship grows as she spends more time with him, and then one day, River's ex-girlfriend shows up and Jade wants to ease the tension and embarrassment River feels, and she pretends to be engaged to him. As they play out the fake relationship, real feelings start to develop, and Jade wonders if it's River, and not Conner, she's been waiting for all her life.
I enjoyed watching the relationship between Jade and River grow into something more and the witty banter between them was so much fun. This was a light-hearted, fun story that was entertaining from start to finish. A charming story with fun, humor, romance made this an enjoyable story.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Four stars. Wonderful characters and plot. Fun Rom Com!! Will be recommending and reading anything in the future from this author. Thank you for the title.
I've been attached to this series since the first book (highly recommend if you haven't read it) and have been waiting in anticipation of River's story! Jade and River have one heck if an angst friends to lovers - from their anti-dates to the she takes care of him while he's sick, will they won't they for well, right up until the epilogue. Only problem. She's actually engaged to someone else. Now, Connor was a douche canoe from the beginning. And everyone could see it except foe Jade. And we spend the entire story wondering when she's finally going to break up with him. But since he lived on the other side of the country and she was spending all her time with River.....there was definitely some stepping over that emotional cheating line (and how many times did someone in their respective corners mention possible cheating?? Quiiiittte a few. Normally I'm all in on any of the romcom plot tropes. Truly love them all but that is one line I can't get on board with.
But one of the things that I think Aimee Brown does well is the found family. Sooo, for those that love that element (like the found family you'd see in a Falon Ballard novel), I do highly recommend the entire series!!
Thank you Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC in exchange for my review!
I'm so glad that we got to hear River's story and more about their family (along with little updates from Hollyn and Dax). It's a sweet and cute rom-com with a lot of wholesome scenes that coming straight out of 80s and 90s rom-com movies. This is a light book but it carries some heavy topic including the loss of family member and getting break from someone who take a granted of you and standing up for yourself. I really love Jade and River connection and banter here, they're so adorable.
Stuck with You by Aimee Brown is the third book in an interconnected series set in New York, but I read it without having read the other two previously and it holds up as a standalone. This story is a lighthearted romantic comedy with all of the added goodies we love, like dual POV, friends-to-lovers, and a good slow burn.
Meet Jade. She had been dating her boyfriend Conner for two months and thought everything was going well, until he did something she’ll never forget. He decided to forget her name while proposing to her at her birthday party, and after her acceptance, he raced home for school on the other side of the country. Oh, and he never gave her a ring. And he’s gone silent on her (aka ghosted HARD). So now she’s engaged… not exactly what she had been picturing.
Meet River. He’s a great friend. He’s fun to be around and genuinely cares about the people in his life. While at the bar one night, he meets a woman named Jade (who just so happens to work there). They hit it off but there’s a problem… she’s engaged. But engaged isn’t married, right?
I really liked River. I wasn’t so much a fan of Jade in all honesty, but River was a cool fellow. Some reviewers have said they feel Jade was kinda immature for saying yes to a man she had been dating for two months, followed so closely by having what some consider to be an emotional affair with River. I got engaged to my husband after dating for only six months so I wouldn’t necessarily say getting engaged quickly makes her immature, but the way she handled some things wasn’t a good look.
I really enjoyed the classic homages and found this to be an easy read. The dialogue was easy to follow and so was the plot, both of those things made this an amazing weekend read. I highly recommend this read when you want something easy!
I knew Rivers story was going to be good and it was worth the wait. Loved his and Jade's story. They were such a brilliant couple even as just friends. I love Aimees writing she is a definite auto buy author for me now. I couldn't put this one down. It held my attention from the get go untill the last page. Loved it
This book was an emotional journey I didn't want to end. The characters felt like kindred spirits, and the reappearance of the main male character filled me with a sense of nostalgia and warmth.
The way the story unfolded with its fake dates was a rollercoaster of emotions, keeping me hooked and emotionally invested. I found myself cheering for the characters, my heart racing with excitement, and sometimes breaking with empathy.
Yet, what made this book truly special were the moments of unwavering devotion and the simple acts of kindness that permeated the narrative. They resonated with me on a profound level, reminding me of the incredible capacity for love and goodness in both literature and life. This book didn't just tell a story; it made me feel it, deeply and intensely.
This story follows Jade and River, both at turning points in their love lives. Jade questions her engagement when her fiancé goes silent, while River, the last single in his group of friends, seeks a chance at love. The story explores the idea that love may find you when you stop actively searching for it, leading to unexpected connections and a journey of self-discovery for both characters.
This is a sweet story of Jade, who gets engaged too soon to Conner, and then realizes that the right man for her might have just been there the entire time. There isn't too much depth to this book-it really is missing the will she/won't she vibe as it's obvious Conner isn't right for her from page 1. However, Jade and River are sweet together and the 80's/90's throwback vibes are spot on.
I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
"𝑨𝒑𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒚, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚'𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚'𝒗𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒐. 𝑪𝒐𝒖𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒅𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒎𝒑𝒔 𝒃𝒓𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒅𝒆."
I truly loved the buildup to the relationship between Jade and River, how they started as friends and then found love within each other and themselves in the process. They challenged each other emotionally and only ended up strengthening each other mentally. I know this is a love that will last!
"𝑺𝒑𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒏𝒐 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆", "𝑺𝒑𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒆 𝒅𝒐𝒈. 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒌, 𝒃𝒂𝒓𝒌", "𝑨𝒍𝒆𝒙𝒂, 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒈!"
And, of course, I have to mention Spike somewhere in this review, only to say that I want a Spike!!
The character development was from another planet, there were obstacles that I thought at a time would not be overcome, and then they did it!
One of the things I loved most about this book is the fact that it shows woman what they actually deserve... How a woman should be treated vs how she should not be treated.
A great read, the story of Jade and River. I loved both characters and wanted everything to work out for them. I liked how it was told from both points of view.
Didn't realise this was part of a series but it can be a standalone. I enjoyed reading this book and will be looking for the others in this series. 4 stars.
Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC
A light and fun romcom with endearing characters and nice 80s nostalgia. I didn't realize it was part of a series so I'll be going to read those now!
