Oh, I so loved this book! I was literally laughing out loud and crying at the same time as it's so engaging and funny! Jade has just gotten engaged but her new love of only a few months is off to work in a different place, she has no engagement ring, and he rarely calls. Enter River, a great friend who fiancee Connor has asked to "watch" Jade in his absence. Of course River is secretly in love with Jade and their banter is hilarious as she's a "hula girl" at a tropical bar and his mother is the famous Penny Candy who was a sensation in the 80's. Just know it is riveting and I read it in one sitting as I couldn't put it down! And to top it off, their favorite movie from the 80's is Say Anything (which is my fave as well)! So very funny and thoughtful!

“Stuck With You" by Aimee Brown is a delightful friends-to-lovers romantic comedy that captures the essence of finding love when you least expect it. The story follows Jade Monroe, a woman who finds herself engaged to the wrong guy and clings to the relationship out of commitment. Enter River Matthews, a colorful and genuine character who has always been himself, unapologetically.

The charm of the story lies in the slow-burning romance between Jade and River. Their interactions are sweet and heartwarming, taking readers on a journey from friendship to love. The author skillfully portrays their blossoming relationship against a backdrop of authenticity and charm.

While the plot is engaging and filled with lovely moments, Jade's hesitations regarding her previous fiancé may seem a bit drawn out. The character of her ex-fiancé is portrayed as unpleasant, making her prolonged commitment to the relationship puzzling. However, if you can overlook this aspect, the book offers a delightful and swoon-worthy read.

Aimee Brown's writing captures the essence of a summer romance, and her characters are relatable and endearing. "Stuck With You" is a perfect pick for fans of friends-to-lovers tropes, offering a blend of humor, romance, and heart. Overall, the book is a charming addition to the romantic comedy genre, inviting readers to embrace the unexpected journey to finding love.

3.5 ⭐️

'Stuck With You' is a really cute book that tells the story of two characters who have to navigate through their love lives, not being sure of if what they are doing is what's right. Jade is engaged to a man who doesn't show an ounce of interest for her once he proposes, but River is there for her every second of her life, supporting her.

I really liked the story, how the characters interacted with each other and how, in their POVs, you could see the mental battle they were having about their feelings. And even though I wish we could have seen more of Conner and how awful he was to Jade, I was happy with the way things ended between them.

Having said that, if you don't like the cheating trope (which is not in this book, at least not physically), or are not comfortable reading about how someone may be dealing with their feelings about someone while still being in a relationship with someone else (like myself), I don't think you will love this book.

Overall, I really liked this book and specially Laney. I would love to read a book about her!

This is a book that gives women hope that there really are good guys out there. I absolutely loved how this story evolved.

If you like your romances tender hearted while giving you plenty of laugh out loud moments, this one is for you.

Stuck With You follows Jade, newly engaged but off to a rocky start and River, someone who is not looking to get his heart broken again but just can't seem to stay away from Jade.

My number one issue with this was that even though Connor was a bad person (and we were clearly meant to love River), I don't enjoy the messyness of the plot with someone already in a relationship, let alone engaged, Jade was absolutely not acting the way that a fiancé should - no matter how distant the guy is - and that just put a bad taste in my mouth.

Therefore, I found it hard to connect to them both as individuals and as a couple. They only got together within the last couple of chapters and there was no time to see them flourish. I felt like the majority of their relationship was lust and the fact that they were both immature.

Finally, there were certain aspects of the writing that I couldn't get one board with. It was quite jarring to read words like 'cray-cray' and have the characters say 'ya' every five seconds.

This was the first Aimee Brown book that I have read, and overall, I enjoyed it. I know that this is technically book 3 of a series, but at no point in time was I feeling like I was missing something. I was able to follow the plot and characters easily. I thought that Jade and River were fun, engaging, and fully fleshed our characters. I believed that they had chemistry and were falling in love.

The place where I lost the connection was when Jade continually refused to believe that her fiancé, Connor, was not the man she thought he was. I have also lost a parent and know how much that can shake your world and who you are. This is why it didn’t bother me that Jade was questioning everything and would accept a lackluster proposal so easily. However, once it became clear that Connor was….less than ideal, I would have expected her to move on sooner. I think this could have created some great conflict with Connor, as I was disappointed at the lack of explanation at the end.

While there were some things I would have adjusted, I did enjoy the book and would read more by this author again! I will be sharing this on my Instagram page on 8/6!

Jade gets engaged to Connor after only dating for two months. But when he leaves for medical school, she begins to wonder if funny customer River is a little more her speed.

I love this series!

Ever since book one, I've been dying to read River's story. He has always been one of my favorite characters, quirky and charismatic. What's not to love? And this book did not disappoint! It features River in his finest. And I couldn't have picked a better person for my boyfriend (yes, I claim him) than Jade. She's kind and family oriented, but also funny and sarcastic when she needs to be. They are a match made in heaven!

The thing about this series, and Brown's writing, that has won me over is the humor. The dialogue is so well put together and genuinely funny. It plays out in my head like a movie or sitcom with each line delivering such humor. It makes the characters even more real. I want to be in this series, be friends with all of these characters. Well done, Aimee! You've created one of my favorite fictional worlds.

If you haven't started this series, now is the perfect time to start! Go fall in love with all of these characters like I have!

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the gifted copy. My reviews are always honest.

This is the third book in the series, and I have really enjoyed the previous two books. I was looking forward to River's story because he is such a fun character! His sister, Hollyn, and his best friend, Dax, got together in the first book in the series.

I couldn't root for River and Jade because they basically had an emotional affair and were dating throughout the entirety of the book. It was never explained why she was engaged to Conner. It seemed like they had nothing in common, and I don't know why she didn't break up with him from the beginning.

River and Jade were going on dates while she was engaged to someone else, and it felt so much like cheating to me. It's hard for me to look past that.

Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood books for an ARC of this book.

This is the third book in the series, but can also be read in a stand alone fashion, When Jade becomes engaged to her summer fling Connor at her birthday party, she can hardly say no, even if he gets her name wrong, It isn't hard to see that this possibly was a bad decision as he is leaving to go back to medical school. In comes River, her quirky acquaintance. I really enjoyed this book and Aimee's quick wit and retro references, I absolutely love dual POV books. This was a fun quick read!

Loved this third installment of the series. River is a hilarious character in the first two, glad to see him get his own story.
I am a sucker for a series that has cameos from the previous leads in each book, love the intertwined stories.
Connor almost lasts a hair too long, but that would be my only complaint.

Read this one if you're into:
Friends to lovers
Dual POV

I read in one sitting, couldn't put it down. Ready for the next part in the story!

I enjoyed the third installment of this series. I loved River's cameos in the previous two books, so I was really excited for him to finally get his HEA. The story was cute, but I almost wish it was longer? I didn't necessarily buy the romance between River and Jade because of how long Conner (YUCK) was in the picture. Overall, a very cute, fun, and quick read with lots of references to the late 80s and early 90s.

THOUGHTS:
I absolutely loved this cute and fun rom-com! I had never read anything by Aimee, this was my first read by her & I will continue to watch for more books from her to release so I can devour those as well. This book had such a great clean plot and well developed characters and I love a good dual pov slow burn. The spice was so innocent and I love that, it’s a good book to pull you from a deep slump or fun fresh read after a dark emotional read. I laughed, smiled & fell in love with the cute relationship between Jade and River. This is absolutely something my teenager would even love to read and enjoy.

If you love :
- slow burn (minimal spice 🌶️ )
- friends to lovers
- rom-coms
- dual pov

Thank you to netgalley, boldwood books, and aimee brown for this advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review!

Thanks so much Boldwood Books and NetGalley.

Jade is newly engaged to a guy she barely knows. He goes silent. She starts to spend time with a friend named River, who is single and a genuinely good guy. Could this be the one?

I liked this book. Luckily the author writes Jade's fiance as kind of a distant guy who isn't right for her, so you are definitely not rooting for him. I think Jade reads as fairly young and inexperienced, but I really appreciated her journey and growth through all of this.

2.5 ⭐️ i haven’t read the other books in this series, but it definitely works as a standalone. the writing was upbeat and light which was great, but unfortunately i just couldn’t get behind the characters. specifically jade, as the entire plot of her realising within the first 10% of the book that she was engaged to someone she barely knew and didn’t want to be with was just unnecessary. it wasn’t a strong enough plot for me & the cheating element just made the characters really unlikeable.

Quick summary: Jade Monroe is engaged to Conner after only 2 mos. of dating, and he's leaving to complete his residency in Boston. Conner tells barfly River Mathews to keep" an eye on her" while he's gone, but River can care less about him. He doesn't think Conner is good enough for Jade, but can he be "the one"?

Content warnings/triggers: emotional cheating, parental death, grief, depression.

Characters: Main and Minor
Jade Monroe-(26), a bartender. Agrees to marry Conner against family and friends wishes. Her mother just passed from breast cancer and her dad is very protective.
Conner-Jade's fiancé, proposed at her b-day party w/o a ring and left for his residency the next day.
River Matthews-(29), owns Wilde River Films. Does commercials and music videos. Currently making a doc about his mother's past as a famous pop star Penny Candy.
Laney-Jade's younger sister. A little troublemaker
Mercy-River's roommate, a musician
Hollyn-River's sister
Dax-River's bff, engaged to Hollyn.
Caitlin-River's ex fiancée, broke up w/ him 5 years ago, had a chance meeting w/ River and Jade. She's married w/ a baby.

Review: A great light read, no sexy times, and a gang of 80's and 90's pop culture references. I liked it, thought River was very creative in wooing Jade. I thought Jade was a little crazy for waiting so long to break up w/ Conner.
Rating- 3.5

I really enjoyed the the 80s/90s music and pop culture references. And that’s about it unfortunately. It was just not my cup of tea, nothing bad about it, but I do think a lot of others would thoroughly enjoy it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books. ~I was given this book and made no commitments to leave my opinions, favorable or otherwise~

Aimee Brown is a favourite author of mine - I've now read all three books in this new series (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE) and everything else she's written. And this book does not disappoint.

With Jade becoming engaged to a guy that no one thinks is good enough for her - including Jade when she really examines her feelings - we have the perfect friends-to-lovers situation with the VERY funny, very caring River. I loved River in Book 1, He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not, so I was really excited he got his own story. I love how close he is to his mom and their dynamic gives us some of the BEST LOL lines. With Jade, I felt it was completely relatable to be in a relationship with SO MANY RED FLAGS that you just ignore. I certainly had my fair share of those before meeting my partner, and it is understandable that at such a low time, she feels like she needs a tether.

The dynamic between our two leads is also so sweet and funny and real. The hamburger!

An easy five stars from me. Funny, warm, relatable. I absolutely loved it.

Friends to lovers romance perfect for fans of Sariah Wilson, Lindsey Kelk and Abby Jimenez.
This was a cute romcom read. This was the third book in the series. I had not read the others but I had no trouble following along.
This is not my usual genre but this was a cute read.

This was a really cute, easy read.
Jade has just got engaged to Conner after a whirlwind 2 month romance, just before he leaves town to start his medical residency. Immediately things change, and he's no longer very present in his communication. Enter River, an acquaintance from Jade's work who makes her realise what love should feel like.

This was a lovely, quick read that I enjoyed. At times the main character Jade was slightly naive with the way she handled her relationship with Conner, however overall it didn't bother me too much. I particularly enjoyed the 80s/90s pop culture and music references in this book.
