What a lovely story. It is about Jade and River. Jade’s boyfriend of a few months, Connor, has proposed quite unexpectedly in front of her family and friends. And although it is very early in the relationship and Jade is stunned, she doesn’t want to embarrass him so she says yes. But after this he leaves her to go work on the other side of the country. But not before asking River to keep an eye on her, while he can’t be bothered to pay any attention to her since he’s a total douchebag. So River is stuck with her. Or you could say Jade is stuck with a fiancé. Anyway, it is not hard to guess that River is the guy for her and Connor is obviously totally wrong for her.
River is a wonderful, funny and caring friend who makes Jade laugh and makes her feel seen and appreciated and you totally see her falling in love with him because what’s not to like about him? His ponytail. Don’t like that on a man, I think it is feminine. And the way he dresses: black skinny jeans, bright green Converses, and a gray and black Nike hoodie - sooo not sexy. And a wall of those expensive ‘adult’ lightsabers - really? But besides that, he’s pretty great. And while you can guess where this is going, the story is a joy to read:
The wedding tux shopping will put a smile on your face where you didn’t expect it.
I love Spike the parrot. And the secondary characters are the kind of friends you want to have. I wouldn’t have minded more details about them.
There were a few things that didn’t got me excited:
The hiking story was creepy. I’d delete that and swap it with some other story. Same with the boyfriend box burning. Very immature but I think the writer wanted to recreate a ‘Friends’ scene since it is clear she likes that show, and can you blame her? ‘Friends’ was epic (I actually pictured Chandler’s mom as Penny Candy in my mind).
Caitlin showing up at River’s mother’s house with her family was crazy - and unrealistic.
And personally, I would have dumped Connor sooner, I don’t understand what took Jade so long, since he’s such a douchebag.
But overall, I liked the story a lot! The writing is fun, their banter was witty and fun and it kept me wanting to keep reding. Kudos for the writer to keep this a clean story. A good writer doesn’t need that to keep their audience captivated. So my compliments for that. I can recommend this book, you will enjoy it!
I received and reviewed an advanced copy of this book and I am grateful for this opportunity. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Smiling is my favorite…and I was smiling the entire time I was reading Stuck With You. I smiled (and chuckled) at the banter between Jade and River, and there were some lines by supporting characters (including Spike, the bird!) that had me laughing out loud. I smiled at the tenderness and care they showed toward each other. I smiled even in scenes where there were tears, because it all came from their heart and the depth of their love. Jade and River are an endearing couple who aren’t just falling in love, they are learning and understanding what true love really is.

I really enjoyed this story. Jade is a very likeable character who has been through so much, so it’s no surprise that her guard was down and she allowed a douchebag like Connor into her life. Thankfully she had great family and friends but it wasn’t until her non dates with River that she found the confidence to realise she deserved more. A lovely romance about so much more than just boy meets girl. Great relationships/friendships, some humour, it was a delightfully easy and enjoyable read.

This book was a delight! I was in the mood for a fun and quirky romcom and this one did not disappoint! Aimee Brown has a way of sucking you into her character's dialogue. I was there. I heard them speaking and totally envisioned the scenes. I love it when I get frustrated with a character's decisions. To me, that is the sign of a really good book, because I'm invested--the author managed to get me to care, and boy did I care about Jade and River. I found myself flipping through the pages very quickly to find out what was going to happen next. What was River going to do? How was he going to react? This book has beautifully flawed characters that will have you swooning, cheering, and feeling all the emotions of a really well-written romcom. Bravo to the author! Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood for this very entertaining read.

In this latest by Aimee Brown, our main female character finds herself engaged while wondering if "the one" was in front of her the whole time.
Jade Monroe's boyfriend proposes to her on her boyfriend and then practically ghosts her when he returns back to his home city. Jade starts to hang out with River, a guy who she's been friendly with at her job. They continue to spend time together and Jade starts to wonder if she made a mistake with her fiancee.
This is my favorite book by Brown! There is a reappearance of characters from the previous two books, who I loved. Jade and River had that banter that is a must for me and the friends/first trope was very well done. Every moment these two spent together made me either laugh or smile. Sometimes I sighed because they were just too cute.

The writing was okay but what bothered me the most about this book were both the main characters, Jade and River, but River more so. I started out liking Jade and her family but what angered me was the emotional cheating and the fact that I never really understood why she was with Conner??? Like since the early chapters she's always comparing him to River like girl WHY are you with Conner then??? What did you ever see in him??
And River. I have never seen a 'pick-me' male character so props to the author for creating one but oh my god I could not stand this guy. He was so pretentious and thought he was better than everyone and everything. And since chapter one the only reason I thought he liked Jade was because she was hot. That didn't change over time. Finally, I think any guy fictional or non-fictional that unironically uses bro-code deserves death. "Couple code trumps bro code" "It's like, cardinal bro code" SHUT UP!!!

While I did prefer this title to the previous Love Notes, the plot was still not my favorite.
After getting engaged to Conner, Jade realizes that no one is quite as excited for her as she expects them to be. With her new fiancee moving back across the country, Jade turns to River, a friend from work and a missed romantic opportunity from months prior.
River knows love and Jade is missing out. But it’s not his place to butt into the situation, right?
While I can appreciate that the two MCs, Jade and River, had an almost kiss months before her engagement, the insistence from all of the characters that they weren’t cheating because nothing physical was happening just irritated me. Yes, Conner was a horrible boyfriend/fiancé. Yes, Jade needed to have her eyes opened. Yes, it’s awesome to see the good guy win. But, no, it’s not ok to essentially glorifying emotionally cheating. And that’s my TED Talk.
Thanks to NetGalley for the digital review copy.

Third book in the series and really liked revisiting past characters. Loved River and Jade together. Great book with lots of 80s references!
Not usually a fan of a love triangle but this one was done better than most. The only reason I didn’t give this one 5 stars was because of that and because of River’s family dinner… man, that gave me some anxiety. Ew, Caitlin.
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Watch for Stuck With You to come out August 9, 2023.
