Dr.. Romy and Nurse Seymour’s is a sweet book about a little girl Who dons a white doctor’s lab coat and sets out to heal her sick classmates. Dr. Romy’s has the aid of her trusted nurse and cat Seymour .
This is a wonderful book to show children compassion and friendship.
The illustrations was also so adorable.
I just reviewed Dr. Romy and Nurse Seymour by Lewis Giles. #DrRomyandNurseSeymour #NetGalley
Dr Romy and Nurse Seymour is about a young girl named Romy who likes to help people. When she goes to school one day and all her classmates are out sick, she puts on her white doctor's coat and goes around to each of her friends, with her feline sidekick Nurse Seymour, to help take care of them.
The illustrations are fun, and Romy's passion for helping her friends is a wonderful example for all our kids. I liked that most of her fixes were things that are common sense / common knowledge (like drinking tea when you don't feel good), that kids should learn, too. Adorable story!
Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this eARC in exchange for my honest review on the book!
Dr. Romy and Nurse Seymour is a heartwarming and fun read that teaches children about empathy, courage, and the power of helping others. It's a must-have addition to any children's bookshelf, particularly for those times when little ones need a comforting story to lift their spirits.
This was a cute little book about a girl (Romy) and her cat that need to help heal all of her injured friends.
The illustrations were beautiful.
The only thing that I believe the author could do to improve it is to choose a slightly easier-to-read font, or maybe increase the letter spacing to make the existing font just a little easier to read for younger children.
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley.
Dr. Romy and Nurse Seymour is a delightful children's book that combines imaginative storytelling with valuable lessons about illness and resilience. When Romy finds herself alone at school because all her friends are sick, she transforms into a doctor with the help of her trusty cat, Seymour. Together, they embark on a mission to help others and offer comfort in their time of need.
The author's clever use of rhymes makes this bedtime story engaging and enjoyable for young readers. The illustrations beautifully bring the characters and their cool gadgets to life, sparking the imagination of children.
Dr. Romy and Nurse Seymore by Lewis Giles
tells the story of a girl named Romy
and her cat Seymore. Together they help treat her friends that are feeling unwell.
The illustrations by Taisiia Komendar were interesting and well done. Both the five year old girl I read the book aloud to and myself especially liked the cat.
The advice dispensed by Dr. Romy to her friends was surprisingly good for a child.
The narrative was generally presented in lines of three with line one and three rhyming. Most of the time line two did not rhyme with the other lines. I found this style to be slightly jarring.
Thank you to Netgalley and Lewis Giles for allowing me to read this eARC.
Dr. Romy and Nurse Seymour by Lewis Giles - 5/5
Children's Fiction - Parenting & Families
I love this story. My youngest wants to be a Vet when she grows up, so I see and hear her place Nurse all the time and of course I am a patient among to sea of stuffed animals.
When Romy's class friends are out sick, she comes to their rescue with her doctor skills and assistant, Seymour. The story is fun, the characters are adorable, and this was such a fun read from start to finish.

Thank you Netgalley and Independently Published for the eARC.
This is a cute, simple story book about Dr. Romy and her cat, Seymour. Together they help her friends who are feeling unwell with simple remedies. I read it today with my young children who are feeling unwell themselves. The illustrations of the cat are amusing, especially for kids! I felt that the rhyme and lines are clunky at times, but overall, it’s a fun book.
I loved reading this children's picture book with my kids. It's a charming story about a girl named Romy who loves to play doctor and help her friends feel better. The illustrations are colorful and cute, and the rhymes are fun and catchy. I especially liked that the main character was Latina and even had a Selena poster on the wall. It's great to see more representation and diversity in children's books. This book is a perfect gift for any young reader who enjoys stories about friendship, kindness, and healing.
Really cute book. I really enjoyed Romy's natural cures for every day common hurts. Thanks #NetGalley
Dr. Romy's loves helping friends in need!
This cute introduction to excitement about the medical field and simple first aid concepts. I was hoping for a most robust empathy building piece but enjoyed it nonetheless! My two year old was smitten with the nurse kitten!
5 stars for a Very cute story with adorable illustrations. My girls (5 and 3) loved it. The cat was super cute and would recommend this for children.
Upon arriving at school, Romy discovered that all of her friends were absent due to illness. She decided to dress up as a doctor and, with the assistance of her skilled nurse, Seymour, went to offer aid to her friends.
To be truthful, the cat featured on the cover was the main reason for my interest in reading this book. However, it turned out to be an enjoyable read, the illustrations are cute and beautifully colorful with the nurse cat providing amusing moments throughout the story.
Children interested in the field of medicine would likely find it entertaining. Additionally, the book provides helpful lessons for treating minor ailments such as headaches and other simple illnesses.
Thank you publisher for giving me a chance to read via NetGalley. I have given my honest review.
The greatest duo, Dr. Romy & Nurse Seymour. Romy arrived at school to find that all of her friends were home sick. Since Romy has the ability to heal people she went with her Nurse Seymour to help the sick children of her class get better!
This is the perfect book for those kiddos who like to dress up as doctors and nurses, or who might have one as a parent. It reminded me a little bit of the show Doc McStuffens (although with people patients instead of toys), and it also gave good tips for actual things you can do when someone isn't feeling well.
Thank you so much @netgalley for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this cute book! It's a kids book that focuses on medicine a little girl, Romy, who wants to heal her friends with her cat's help.
The artwork is adorable and the story is also nice to read. It speaks of friendship, which is a very important theme for kids.
Overall, I would reccomend it for children of all ages!
