This was the first book I have read by LJ Ryan. It took me a little bit to understand the characters since this was the second book in he series. I felt like this had a good pace and some unexpected twists. I enjoyed reading this. I would like to read some other books and the one before this in the series. I would still recommend this book.

Thank you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.

Laurel & David are content with their life in Aix-en-Esperance as they are safe. But the past is coming back to haunt them as David needs to return to his acting career and Laurel receives news of her imprisoned mother and brother, they must once again face their old enemy Declan.

Along with their friends, they plan to bring Declan to justice thus bringing an end to their fear.

As this was the second book in the series and I haven't read the first book it took a while to get to know the characters.

"Shadows in Our View" by Lj Ryan promises readers a thrilling continuation of the story that began with "The View from Our Window." This sequel takes us back into the lives of Laurel and David in Aix-en-Esperance, offering a blend of family drama, suspense, and intrigue.

The description hints at a peaceful life that is disrupted by the return of past troubles. As David returns to his acting career and Laurel receives troubling news about her imprisoned mother and brother, the narrative appears to be a rollercoaster of emotions and unexpected events.

The mention of an old enemy, Declan, and the shadows forming around the characters create an atmosphere of suspense and mystery. Readers can anticipate a gripping plot as Laurel, David, and their friends Paul and Marc devise a plan to bring Declan to justice. The element of surprise and the trap they set for him add an intriguing layer to the story.

One notable aspect is that "Shadows in Our View" can be read as a standalone story, which makes it accessible to new readers while also offering a continuation for those familiar with the previous book.

Overall, this sequel seems to be an engaging and suspenseful read, perfect for fans of thrillers and family dramas. It promises to keep readers on the edge of their seats as they follow the characters on their journey to confront their past and seek justice.
