The Cutting Edge had some potential, but definitely needed some additional editing, both punctuation, grammatical and story line development. There was a paragraph that repeated itself word for word and had me thinking I went backwards by accident in the ebook.

I didn't feel invested in the characters at all which made I ended up DNF'ing at 52% because I almost cringed every time I saw that I still needed the read it. It's not often that I DNF and I needed to at least give it a good try - but 52% was enough. I even tri to read a few books in between while slowly working away at it, but wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt before writing it off completely.

Good book with a well done story inside the pages. I loved the main characters and how well they played off each other the whole way through the story.

Logan Rivers is the captain of his NHL team, nearing playoffs, and in a slump. He hasn't scored a goal in three games or in practice. Just his luck then when a rogue slap shot hits his secret crush and knocks her unconcious. But that may just be the shot to change his game... and his life.
Irritated by the no show of one of her skating student's parents, Coco attempts to track him down but she wakes up in the hospital with a wicked headache and a hot hockey player hovering over her. She's charmed by his groveling for forgiveness, then attracted to his personality but can she ever forgive the fact that he may have ended her skating career?
I thought this was a cute story with a cinnamon roll "hero", lots of funny banter, and a slow burn attraction. The scenes with Poppy were sweet and hilarious and I loved the closeness between her and Logan. I love when the hockey star isn't afraid to show his feelings and Logan literally gives her his heart in front of thousands of fans and national tv. One of my favorite scenes in the book!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This ticked all my boxes as a hockey romance. It had a large helping of popular tropes and was an all around fun read! The third act conflict was a little off putting however overall a cute read with two professional athletes at its core.

The cover was what initially drew me in to this book. That and the fact I love hockey romances.

It was a fun read, but I felt it could've been shorter, a lot of the book was spent in the hospital, and I didn't feel like we got to see them both in action.

I liked the interactions between Poppy and Logan but felt like some of these were just filler bits.
I enjoyed the idea of this book but there were just some things I didn't enjoy and couldn't get past.

If you like these tropes, this could be the book for you:
- Hockey x Figure Skater
- sports romance
- Single Dad
- rom com

I will definitely try another one of Lisa Daily's books, thank you for the opportunity.

This was cute. It made me smile a lot.
I don't think she should've got as mad at him as she did. He did almost kill her.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Coco and Logan. Coco is an Olympic skater. Logan is a professional hockey player. There is an attraction. Coco is training Logan’s daughter to skate, Logan is late picking her up. They go looking for him and when they go to the skating rink he is at. He hits Coco in the head with a hockey puck. Coco lands up in the hospital for a week with a concussion. They start dating and wind up falling in love.

The Cutting Edge by Lisa Daily was a vite light hockey romance. While I enjoy the tropes freighted in this book it didn’t quite hit the mark fully for me. I felt like the story could have been more developed along with the characters.

3.5 stars. I did enjoy this book but I found certain parts annoying. Like repeating of desires and wants constantly. I really liked the characters though. I will definitely continue with the series.

I love me a good hockey romance book, but the single parent trope isn't my favorite which is why this gets a 3 out of 5 from me. While Poppy was very well written, the single parent trope feels messy to me and I don't enjoy it.

I enjoyed the book, it was so easy to read and just switch off from work. It's too old for the children I teach but would be great for young adults.

I loved every page of this book. It’s a very heartwarming gushy romance with two adorable main characters. The other characters were also just as loveable. Logan Rivers has my heart! If you’re looking for drama and seedy characters this isn’t the book to read but if you’re looking for falling in love with the characters while they fall in love it’s definitely one to read!

The Cutting Edge by Lisa Daily was a super sweet hockey romance. It is short and sweet but I think this book needed to go through another round of edits before being distributed to ARC readers. There were a lot of grammatical errors and I felt like there were parts of the story missing. This had a lot of potential, but ultimately fell flat in execution.

This definitely scratched the itch I had for swoon worthy hockey romance! Characters were lovable, didn’t run too quickly or too slow, the setting didn’t overpower…quite honesty a perfect balance to me!

I picked this up looking for a more "closed door" hockey romance and while I guess it delivered in that respect, I didn't find the story to be very entertaining or gripping. The pacing was strangely slow and I didn't really care about the characters very much. I think in general the writing/ editing could be tighter.
Overall I think this book could have really benefited from another round or two of editing and polishing up.
I did think the way the author threw these two characters together was interesting and I liked that we were stepping out of the norm in these types of books by giving us a single dad MC.

I wanted to like this I really did. But I feel like it was kind of all over the place. the idea and the story are cute but some things that just didn’t need to be there.

there were parts that were a little tough to read, there were quotations in random places, at the beginning of the book the Olympics were in Milan but then by the end they were in Madrid, the ex-boyfriend scene felt very forced and unnecessary, there are scenes where the writing just randomly switches to third person???

I don’t know if that is just because this was an arc and if the final print is different but I had a hard time reading this.

I am such a sucker for hockey romances. I simply can’t get enough of them. This was such a cute story with just the right amount of drama.

I enjoyed the start but the middle - third act ish just didn't really keep my attention and I got bored

This book was most enjoyable when the MMCs child was involved, she was super cute and brought lots of entertainment to the plot. I really enjoyed the date/day out they all had together

I liked the start of their relationship and how they got on straight away and almost clicked

The MMC started annoying me when he was just kinda throwing money her way in terms of presents to try and get her to forgive him for lying/keeping info from her (and the fact that it happened twice got on my nerves)

- olympic figure skater x nhl team captain
- single dad

Thank you to NetGalley and Siesta Key for the arc - all opinions are my own
