The Cutting Edge is a fun Hockey Romance. Coco and Logan have good chemistry and I was looking forward to them figuring out their issues. Poppy is a sweet addition to the story as Logan’s daughter.
I was gifted this ARC by NetGalley and Siesta Key for an honest opinion.
Cute, hockey romance. I'm a sucker for sports romance... especially hockey. This is much tamer than most sports romances which was great. Logan and Bella are easy to like and I think it's a bonus that Logan is a single dad!! Logan did have an insta- love for Bella that was a little different but all in all there was great banter and just an overall cute story.
I truly enjoyed every aspect of this read! From that fateful hit taken by the hockey puck, to the falling in love that we experience, this was fun and light-hearted, and kept me laughing and feeling the love the entire time I was reading.
I feel that Lisa Daily did a beautiful job building the story and allowing us to take part in this beautiful story of finding love. Highly, highly recommended!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me the opportunity to read an arc in return for an honest review.
Such a cute, fluffy, hockey romance! This was easy to read and the characters were very likable from the start. I prefer more on page spice but that’s just my preference. I look forward to more books in the series!
" 'I'm no goalie, but I've got you covered if you decide to pull a Pretty Woman and send your dinner flying across the room.' "
When Coco is late to pick up her friend from the hospital, she goes on a mission to find Poppy's dad, Logan, who was late to pick Poppy up. After a hockey puck incident, she lands in the hospital, and when fate intertwines, Logan, Coco and Poppy's lives change for the better.
There were so many cute moments, and I absolutely loved their relationship. I feel like Coco and Logan were a match made in heaven, even if their first meeting wasn't the best of terms.
Going into this, I expected a heavier emphasis on their sports, Coco's figure skating, and Logan in the National Hockey League. There was some key moments that we saw with Logan, and him playing in the games, but I wanted more with Coco. More moments of her practicing, her performing, the tricks and impressing the boys.
Me being a hockey fan, I immediately knew I wanted to read it, but of course, there's going to be inconsistencies, which I tried to overlook.
Overall, a very cute sports romance, and I love all of the characters and I will definitely be on the lookout for Cam and Lana's story next in Cold Feet.
tropes // sports romance, he falls first, NHL captain, Olympic bound figure skater, single dad
tw // medical content, panic attacks, sexual content, death (off screen, mentioned), violence
I love a good hockey romance, and this was just that. Plus, the fact that HE is the single parent in the book was, honestly, a refreshing twist. I feel like a lot of the 'single parent' characters in contemporary romances are single mothers, so this was nice.
I enjoyed reading this book, and I'm such a sucker for the "he falls first" trope and I had enough fun while reading it to kind of gloss over the fact that I got a touch annoyed by the conflict in the third act. It was enough to make me like "come on, now..." but not enough to make me dock my rating, or even DNF the book.
This was just a super cute romance book. I liked that she already had a relationship with his daughter, it made it easy for him to trust her. My one thing is that the version I read needed more editing, there were a lot of errors that are super easy to fix.
There was somewhat of an insta love thing going on and that’s not my thing. The fact that he’s a single dad to his niece is cute but with the first half of the story covering 3 days of just them interacting in the hospital you don’t get to see that aspect as much as I’d like. The banter is good but sometimes it’s just a bit repetitive. Overall good story, cute and super fast read

I love sports romances, especially Hockey so of course I had to pick up this one when it came by on Netgalley. (Did I read and forget to review it? Yes. I did 🫣 but I’m here now!)
It’s a fun, Insta-love between a single dad- Logan and Coco- an Olympic figure skater who is teaching kids while she makes her way to an Olympic gold medal. One of her students, Poppy, is the most adorable little girl with the hottest dad ever. One day, when Poppy's dad is late to pick her up, she decides to go find him within the facility, since they both work at the same stadium. When they both happen to enter a restricted zone, a puck comes flying and knocks Coco out. Her story with Logan begins when she wakes up in the hospital with him by her side.
The romance in this book is fast paced, which doesn’t go hand in hand with the plot which is seemingly slow paced. I had high hopes with this ice skating x hockey romance, but while we saw a lot of hockey we don’t get to see much of ice skating.
The banter between the 2 MCs is super cute. It was, however, the only thing that kept me interested. While it’s a decent book, I felt it could've been much better.
Thanks NetGallery and Lisa Daily for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review

A single dad, insta love, sport romance very fun to read.
The plot caught my attention and has lived up to my expectations. The story has a very funny beginning that makes you keep reading.
I don't usually like insta love, but I think this one is very well done. From the beginning you can see how Coco and Logan get attached since they spend so much time together at the hospital.
The aspects I liked about the book were:
• Logan and Poppy's relationship is extremely adorable.
• They are both professional athletes and share their passion and sacrifice for their sport.
• They help each other to overcome their difficulties.
However, there are some aspects that could be improved:
• Most of the book takes place in the hospital, I would have liked to see Coco on the ice more.
• I would have liked to see more tension, as Logan never got mas despite Coco's attitude.
It's an entertaining read with a fun ice hockey story. I'm looking forward to reading Cam's love story.
This is literally the cutest/sweetest little story! It definitely has a steady and slow burn going on, but for this storyline, I thought it worked out perfectly.
Poppy and Logan are a sweet father-daughter duo (SINGLE DAD, OKAYYYY!) with Logan being an NHL superstar, of course, and Poppy a figure-skating student of Coco's, whose an Olympic ice skater. ⛸️
Coco and Logan bond over an unfortunate accident that happened with Poppy, and quite honestly, you could see the chemistry there from the beginning.
I love romances, especially hockey romances, so this really hit the nail on the head for me in pretty much every area. I cannot wait to read more of her books! 💕🥰
This is a quick and enjoyable single dad sport romance.
There were so many great extra characters from Mrs Marham to Marissa to the hockey team to poppy. The daughter was adorable - she reminded me of Rosie from we bought a zoo! She was a great addition to the story.
I felt a bit weird about how quickly she seemed to be interested in him again after she was being paid, it just felt a bit odd. But that is the premise of the book and the author did try and explain the change in emotions so if your intrigued by the plot of the book you shouldn't have any problems with it.
It was a quick paced romance where he falls first. Logan and Cocos romance was enjoyable, if your looking for a quick good read you can't go far wrong with this one.
Thank you for the advanced copy. I thought this was a cute book. Logan and Coco are fun, and I like seeing their communication and growth. I don't normally read many new adult books, so this was a little out of my comfort zone. However, if you like romance, I'd try it.
Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Cute concept! I loved how the main characters were introduced in the story and evolved throughout the book. Quick, easy, happy read.
** spoiler alert ** I love a good romance, a spicy romance, and love a hockey player romance!
An Olympian level figure skating, teaching kids to skate to earn money to train... and a professional NHL player who trains in the same building, because his daughter takes skating classes - when he forgets to pick up his daughter, the teacher brings her over to his area of the building... only to receive a PUCK TO THE HEAD.
Talk about a meet cute... omg. I died. Such a fun beginning!
However, from there the pacing was good, and the storyline was cute - but there was a LOT of gifting from the MMC. I had a hard time with all the incessant gifting, and felt it get really repetitive, and cheesy quickly.
Overall, I liked it, but it just wasn't my favorite.
[Gifted by Siesta Key and Netgalley - thank you! All opinions are my own.]
Honestly, i tried like i really tried to get into this but i just couldn't i think the problem was the romance i just can't stand it no matter how many times i attempted to read this book.
I had high hopes for this read and was disappointed. The idea she continually got money thrown at her to be around him became cringeworthy. It felt like he went behind her back to make life better for her without asking her if it would at times too. Like I'm all for a man spoiling his lady but it got weird and smothering. There were some scenes that were cool and the daughter was adorable.
I picked this book based on the title alone. I LOVED the 90s classic The Cutting Edge. I knew the book would be figure skater and hockey player and that was about it so I went in pretty blind. It was very adorable, over the top sweet with a major cinnamon roll hockey player that I was just in love with. How can you not fall in love with him, after sending a slap shot to the face, he spends the rest of the books making it up to her. Hospital visits, meaningful gifts and expensive lobster dinners, sexy kisses and just an overall adorableness in how hard and fast that man fell in love.
I have to say I didn't like Coco all that much. I can't decide why but I hated the way she treated Logan with her I like you, no I don't like you, I like you but I can't be with you for no reason. He was going out of his way to help her out, her best friend approved of him and yet she kept shutting him down, and then she would lead him on, and then shut him down and then she took the job as the lucky charm (which anyone with a half a brain cell could see was Logan's way of taking care of her) and she got mad at him. Urghh...I hate the miscommunication trope and she was so wishy washy and kind mean sometimes. But I really liked Logan, I liked the hockey team, I loved the banter between the teammates and I could read around her and overall found the story quirky and fun.
I see lots of potential in a series with the players. So many good rugged hot hockey players to make fall in love. Yep. I will be looking for Lana and Cam's book!
was not a fan of this novel the cover is cute though. thanks netgalley and lisa daily for the e arc :))))
I wanted to like this book but it was super difficult to get into. Putting aside the multiple grammatical and continuity errors in my copy, it was a book that was rather short yet felt long.
