I will always love hockey romances. I really enjoyed this book. I loved all the tropes and how they were written. Would definitely recommend it to other sports romance lovers.

The Flyers season beings tomorrow so it felt like the right time to review this baby. This was fun, lighthearted and has a silly meet-cute. This was short (under 250 pages) and I think it was the perfect amount of story. The single father trope was different in this one and very enjoyable - I love a funny kid character. What I really want to know - are NHL players are allowed to have their phones on the bench during game? Can you fly after having a skull injury?

While there were some sweet moments in this book, it mostly missed the mark for me. I understand that it's an ARC, but it needs some heavy editing. There were moments of nearly identical sentences and sentiments just a few pages apart. I did find Coco and Logan to be charming if completely unbelieveable and look forward to Cam and Lana's book.

I’ve been loving hockey romance more and more, especially with the cold weather coming, but I especially love hockey x figure skating romance - they’re just perfection!

The cutting edge was so nicely written! It had the single dad trope, rich and famous MMC, he falls first, as well as touch her and die. it was hilariously funny and had some of the best swoon worthy scenes I’ve ever read.

I found the pace at times to be a bit too fast/rushed and although advertised as steamy there was only 1 true spicy scene (in the arc copy I was given).

All in all, this was a fun read and the chemistry between the too MCs was electric! I highly recommend if you’re looking for a quick hockey romance read!

When it comes to self-help literature, there are few authors who surpass the work of Lisa Daily. The Cutting Edge is her latest book, and it covers a vast territory of topics, from setting and achieving goals, managing emotions, and improving relationships to honing social media presence. This book offers a comprehensive and useful exploration of both the “hardware” and “software” of becoming the best version of yourself.

The book does not contain empty platitudes - instead, the author has filled its pages with practical advice and anecdotal examples. After providing an expansive view of the many ways in which one can use self-improvement to activate success, the book drills down to provide highly specific advice. Each chapter contains exercises to strengthen and expand the reader’s understanding of the material. Then, include templates, templates, and questionnaires to help people effectively apply the concepts.

Daily does an excellent job of explaining the science behind her strategies, using case studies to illustrate key principles throughout the book. This makes for an easy to understand and fascinating read, even for individuals who do not have a background in psychology or neuroscience. She also includes inspiring stories of the celebrities and everyday people she has coached, which allows readers to connect with the material on a more personal level.

The Cutting Edge is an empowering and engaging read that aims to motivate and inspire, while also furnishing the tools necessary to help readers create tangible and lasting change. Whether you’re aiming to level up your career, relationships, or life in general, this book has something to offer.

Overall, The Cutting Edge is an invaluable resource filled with priceless information. It is well-written and easy to understand, and the chapters flow together in a logical and highly productive manner. Anyone looking for an effective way to create the reality they want is well served by Lisa Daily’s latest book.

This was a cute little romance book. It's is very cozy. It definitely seems a lot like the Cutting Edge movies but overall really cute.

Who doesn’t love the hockey player/ figure skater trope??! Lisa did it in a way that was different but still comfortingly reliable! I love a good hockey series! Get ready for a steamy story that just might melt the rink!!

This book was meh for me.
Nothing to remarkable to set it apart in the market.
Good story line and characters.
but nothing really GRABBED me.
I wanted to be in love with it.
It just was missing something.

Thank you to the publishers and netGalley for the ARC copy

thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.

Unfortunately the quality of the ARC I received contained mostly blocked out sections, even re-booting and another download didn’t make a difference. So it made for very difficult reading and I was unable to understand any of the story.

I was anticipating this read but honestly it was for me.
I feel that there needed more going on in this book. Felt choppy and lacked alot of storyline.
I kinda see where it might have been going but needed more.

Okay, this book is an absolute must read! The character relationship development was next level!! I enjoyed the practical mannerisms of the characters and the family dynamic of the leading man! It was just enough for you to daydream about and know this can possibly be attainable!

My Rating: ❤️❤️.5

Disclaimer: I received a review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thanks to the author.

General Thoughts: I'm not sure whether to give this a 2.5/3. I almost DNFed it. I had a really hard time getting into this story and staying interested. That sounds harsh, and I hate writing bad reviews, but because I struggle to DNF, I did finish it. I was left wanting. This story had so much potential, but the execution wasn't there for me.

I struggled with the plot line. I can't say too much there because I don't want to give away spoilers. But I really disliked the choices of the characters (both of them). I don't mind unlikeable characters. The problem here is they were supposed to be likeable. The story had a lot of potential but it didn't quite live up to it for me.

I think the author has a lot of potential and room to grow. I'll be curious to see what she releases down the road, but sadly, this one wasn't for me.

Steam Meter: Really inconsistent. Not steamy, then has a steamy scene. All in all, I'd say maybe ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥.

OMG I LOVED THIS BOOKS!! The almost adult take on icebreaker. Poppy made the book that much better. I think the hospital time could have been a little bit smaller but overall i liked the pace of the book. Would have loved to see more of Coco’s figure skating training and Logan picking her up form training, supporting her so on and so on. Overall loved the book and would reread it! Can’t wait to add the paperback to my bookshelf!

Thank you NetGalley and the author for this book.
It started strong right to the action and I was liking it but then like more than half of the book the main character is in the hospital, and the book is really short so it has to try and tell us more things about the story and the characters, it felt more like a novella.

It has a trope that actually is the reason why the main characters meet each other but I felt like the author kind of forgot about it was just there but nothing was happening like that trope just appear when it was needed for the plot.

I was mad with the third act because I hate that trope but then Logan said something and it made me sooo made because you could kind of see where the story was going.

Coco has a mission-dream and you can't really see her working towards that basically for the reason that most of the book is set in a hospital.

It was a fast read and a cute one you can tell from minute one that both Coco and Logan like each other, which is something I needed after reading really long slow-burn books recently.
