This book was meh for me.
Nothing to remarkable to set it apart in the market.
Good story line and characters.
but nothing really GRABBED me.
I wanted to be in love with it.
It just was missing something.
Thank you to the publishers and netGalley for the ARC copy
thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.
Unfortunately the quality of the ARC I received contained mostly blocked out sections, even re-booting and another download didn’t make a difference. So it made for very difficult reading and I was unable to understand any of the story.
I was anticipating this read but honestly it was for me.
I feel that there needed more going on in this book. Felt choppy and lacked alot of storyline.
I kinda see where it might have been going but needed more.
This was a fun read, not the most exciting read but heartwarming and fun. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a review.
Okay, this book is an absolute must read! The character relationship development was next level!! I enjoyed the practical mannerisms of the characters and the family dynamic of the leading man! It was just enough for you to daydream about and know this can possibly be attainable!
This one fell pretty flat for me.
i’m not sure if it’s because i’ve read so much hockey romances in the past of what.
but i just wasn’t vibing with this book. No matter how had i tried.
I received this book for free for an honest review from Netgalley
Adorable. I loved every second.
My Rating: ❤️❤️.5
Disclaimer: I received a review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thanks to the author.
General Thoughts: I'm not sure whether to give this a 2.5/3. I almost DNFed it. I had a really hard time getting into this story and staying interested. That sounds harsh, and I hate writing bad reviews, but because I struggle to DNF, I did finish it. I was left wanting. This story had so much potential, but the execution wasn't there for me.
I struggled with the plot line. I can't say too much there because I don't want to give away spoilers. But I really disliked the choices of the characters (both of them). I don't mind unlikeable characters. The problem here is they were supposed to be likeable. The story had a lot of potential but it didn't quite live up to it for me.
I think the author has a lot of potential and room to grow. I'll be curious to see what she releases down the road, but sadly, this one wasn't for me.
Steam Meter: Really inconsistent. Not steamy, then has a steamy scene. All in all, I'd say maybe ❤️🔥❤️🔥.

OMG I LOVED THIS BOOKS!! The almost adult take on icebreaker. Poppy made the book that much better. I think the hospital time could have been a little bit smaller but overall i liked the pace of the book. Would have loved to see more of Coco’s figure skating training and Logan picking her up form training, supporting her so on and so on. Overall loved the book and would reread it! Can’t wait to add the paperback to my bookshelf!
Thank you NetGalley and the author for this book.
It started strong right to the action and I was liking it but then like more than half of the book the main character is in the hospital, and the book is really short so it has to try and tell us more things about the story and the characters, it felt more like a novella.
It has a trope that actually is the reason why the main characters meet each other but I felt like the author kind of forgot about it was just there but nothing was happening like that trope just appear when it was needed for the plot.
I was mad with the third act because I hate that trope but then Logan said something and it made me sooo made because you could kind of see where the story was going.
Coco has a mission-dream and you can't really see her working towards that basically for the reason that most of the book is set in a hospital.
It was a fast read and a cute one you can tell from minute one that both Coco and Logan like each other, which is something I needed after reading really long slow-burn books recently.
I really liked this book. Apart from the few typos, I really like how cute the relationship between Logan et poppy was. I wish at some point we would have seen more of poppy. The only thing is that having a first time between Logan and coco at the hospital was a bit strange
A mixed bag…
Logan is the captain of an ice hockey team but is in a slump. This changes when he is late to pick up his child from the ice skating rink in the complex he works in. There he is thrown together with Coco Olympic figure skater who is trying to get to her second Olympics.
Parts of this story are really sweet and made me smile. Logan is such a sweet guy who seems to have it all. I wish that there was a little more drama and maybe a few more obstacles between these two. It seemed like everything was too easy.
At the same time I really enjoyed reading this book and liked the author’s style. I loved the hockey game scenes which were descriptive.
This book would best be enjoyed by people who like low stakes, Insta love, golden retriever MMC vibes and hockey stories.
Thank you to the author, publisher and netgalley for the opportunity to read this book early. All thoughts are my own.
The Cutting Edge is a Great Hockey romance that is honestly one of the best I have read in such a crowded space. Many Thanks to NetGalley and Siesta Key for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
So the story follows a famous male hockey player who has struggled to score in his last few games, and a rogue puck ends up making his life collide with Coco- an Olympic figure skater.
I really loved how the characters were introduced and honestly the plot flowed well and the story was such a nice easy read to get into. The writing style is wonderfully sharp and so beautiful to bring the story and characters to life. Book community- this is a trope filled book to keep the sports romance readers definitely invested.
It was a very fast paced book, but this just added to its charm and it was really nice to see the HEA!

3.5⭐️
This was a really cute read. For me it was a little slow at first and it took me a while to get through but loved the second half! LOGAN the cinnamon roll man I love ❤️ Coco was a little frustrating at times but overall a good read.
The Cutting Edge is not the same as the movie , which is one of my absolute faves but it does have a figure skater and a hockey player. I loved them both, they are great lovable characters almost too good to be true. The story was just complicated enough without being frustrating and I hope that they appear in future books so I can learn how their lives progress. A fun read.
This book was OK, but there was nothing exceptional about it. It was a quick read, and if you're a fan of sports romances you will probably enjoy it.
A huge thank you for this arc.
However for me it fell completely flat. I felt that the majority of this book was in the hospital with nothing really happening and alot of inconsistencies medically were written.
I also felt that it would say something on one page and then reword it the next page like the author or editors forgot to delete a paragraph.
I would have loved to read this and love it but sadly with the lack of story and the many repetitive lines it just wasn't for me.
I enjoyed this a lot. I have been on a hockey romance kick and this fed the need. very good. My favorite is still icebreaker but this is very good to feed the need for hockey romance.
A sweet story of full of mix ups and miscommunication. Would of preferred the action to be a bit more balanced without so much in the hospital. But over all a feel good easy read.
