The format this came in made it difficult for me to share with my high schooler. I like the concept and am looking forward to the release to see if the official versions works better for us.

as a parent of 5 kids, 3 of which have already graduated, one currently a sophomore, and one that will be in high school in a blink of an eye, this book had some amazing helpful strategies that would have been helpful to have had before! my daughter currently enrolled reviewed the hacks with me and we felt most of them were useful. must have for parents in high school, honestly maybe even middle school!

This book was super helpful, it had a lot of good tips to help high schoolers like me thrive! It was also fun and entertaining, so I didn't get bored reading it, either.

My Teenage Daughter Loved This Book !!!!

A good sharp to the point book on how to hack teenage life, she read this within a day and started applying some off the hacks to day to day life at home, she noted down the hacks for school which she thinks are going to help her in the new school year and has taken a welcome interest in her finances too.

The stories that come along with some of the hacks really help make the connection between the hack and how it can change/ impact a situation, which she particularly loved while reading and while telling her friends about the book it they helped there understanding more.

I will definitely be adding this book into my Christmas presents this year !!!

I volunteered to read “88 Life-Changing High School Hacks” because I am the mom of a high school student and I teach middle school aged students. I thought I might find 88 helpful hints to use with them. But, most of the information seemed outdated. Don’t think I’ll be able to use as many tips as I had hoped.

I received an advanced reader’s copy thanks to net galley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a good easy read for me, and I have a kid about to enter high school this coming year. It reminded me of kinda a teen version of Essentialism (Mckewn) and Atomic Habits . It had a ton of useable information that could be adapted for adults as well. It was a solid read and I’ll encourage my kid to read it as well

Being a teenager in high school is very hard. Friendships, dating, and worst of all… school. The teenage years are very hard, and all this hacks are relatively useful. Lost your textbook? Find the pdf version. Well, it is really good. Just that the tips on dating seem a little bit preachy. But afar from that, really good. I think any teenager can make something out of this book. It is a very enjoyable and short read. It is very different from other books, made for the digital era. It covers very important things such as the Pomodoro Technique, the 80/20 rules and others. I will recommend it? Yes, of course. But depending, cause some of this tips are overused and can be easily found on the internet. This might be one of the best self-help books of the year. I think it is going to be a bestseller.

Do you want to help your teen smooth out the rough edges of life? “88 Life-Changing High School Hacks” could be for you. Author Derek T Freeman provides 88 specific strategies for improving life in categories ranging from study habits to relationship building to personal growth. The writing style is conversational and provides encouragement for teens to empower themselves.

Teens can choose the area of life they wish to work on as the book does not have to be read in a linear fashion. Some teens may need to skip the tips on relationships with parents if those relationships are already particularly damaging. There are many places that open avenues for conversation between teens and the adults in their lives (e.g. Want a Car? Consider ALL of the expenses related to having a vehicle, not just the cool car you want to purchase).

This book is great for teens and their adults who are looking for specific ideas to stay on track and thrive.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of “88 Life-Changing High School Hacks” provided by NetGalley and BooksGoSocial. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I had really high hopes for this book, yet unfortunately, it did not deliver.
As a former teacher, and as a tween’s mother, and as someone who sees teenage kids daily, I really do not think this book is going to work for most of them.
It reads like someone from a higher shelf yelling out outdated wisdom and advice.
I was not sure about this opinion of mine, so I asked my child to read several chapters (or all of the book, if she wanted to) to see what she thinks. Mind you, I did not pre-condition her by telling her that the voice of the author feels off to me.
She said… NO. She said a big fat no. She said it feels like an old person sharing advice he wished he had when he went to school, but she doesn’t see how most of it is useful. Except for the Filename:PDF chapter.

The world definitely needs more books for teens and for anyone who has to survive school. Yes. But I’m afraid this is not it. I’m sorry.
