If you’ve ever dreamed of escaping to a charming Cornish village for the holidays—complete with cozy cafes, festive twinkling lights, and a bakery that could fix just about any bad mood—then "A Cornish Christmas at the Farmhouse Bakery" is your next holiday read. Ellie is looking for a fresh start, and the bakery is the perfect place to find it. But between rediscovering her love for baking, the quirks of small-town life, and a certain someone who keeps showing up at all the right (and wrong) moments, she quickly realizes that a new beginning doesn’t always mean leaving everything behind.
Where this book truly shines is in its sense of place. The bakery itself is practically a character, with the scent of cinnamon and warm bread leaping off the pages. The descriptions of the Cornish countryside feel like a postcard come to life, and you can practically hear the crash of the waves in the background. The romance has a slow-burn sweetness, though there are moments when the pacing slows down a bit too much. Some conflicts wrap up a little too easily, but the heart of the story—second chances, found family, and the magic of community—remains strong. The supporting characters bring warmth and depth, making the town feel like a place you’d love to spend the holidays.
A solid four stars. This book is like a festive treat—warm, comforting, and best enjoyed with something sweet. If you love small-town romance, delicious descriptions of baked goods, and a holiday setting that feels like stepping into a snow globe, this is one to add to your Christmas TBR. Bonus: You’ll probably find yourself craving something fresh from the oven by the end.

After her landlord terminates her bakery's lease, Ivy must find a new premises or risk being out of business during the holiday season. While nearby options are lacking, her friend, Jess, begins pitching her Cornish Farmhouse as a prime location. And while Ivy and her new husband, Adam, have their hesitancies, the denizens of an idyllic Cornwall village might just win them over.
A Village Christmas at the Farmhouse Bakery is the perfect book to set the Christmas mood no matter the time of year. Linn B. Halton (otherwise publishing as Lucy Coleman) leans heavily into the importance of community, support, and general festiveness. Ivy struggles with deciding with what's best for her, her business, and her beginning family, but there's practically a twinkling of bells in the air even when she's frazzled. Halton has captured holiday magic in these pages.
Ultimately, this means the book doesn't have much conflict, though this isn't a bad thing. There are some minor issues involving the move, growing pains from adapting to a new living/working situation, and a couple of clever twists. However, Halton relies on a likable cast and the connections they make to propel the action. It's less about the business and more about the friends and family that help prop it up along the way.
Light on drama and heavy on emotion, A Village Christmas at the Farmhouse Bakery is a charmingly festive read.

* A Cornish Christmas at the Farmhouse Bakery* by Linn B. Halton is an absolute delight! From the moment I began reading, I was drawn into the warmth and charm of the story, and I couldn’t put it down.
Ivy and Adam Taylor’s journey is both heartwarming and heart-wrenching, and I found myself rooting for them from the very first page. Starting fresh in a new place after their dreams crumble, they’re given a chance at reinvention, with the help of Ivy’s best friend Jess. Opening a bakery in the picturesque Cornish countryside is hardly an easy feat, especially with winter on the horizon, but the sense of community and possibility that Halton evokes in her writing is truly magical.
What I adored most was the setting. The descriptions of the Cornish farmhouse and the surrounding landscape are so vivid that I could practically smell the sea breeze and taste the warmth of freshly baked bread. The charm of the farmhouse bakery and the local community feels like a perfect backdrop for a story of new beginnings, love, and hope.
Ivy’s character is wonderfully relatable. Her vulnerability and desire to make a fresh start are something I think many can relate to, especially in such uncertain times. Watching her overcome her doubts and take the plunge into something she’s always dreamed of was so inspiring. Adam is equally endearing, and together, they make the perfect team.
The story isn’t just about the bakery, though—it's about the people who come into Ivy’s life as she starts anew. The friendships and the connections made, particularly with the quirky and loving people at Renweneth Farm, are what truly make this book shine. And of course, the Christmas magic that runs through the pages is the perfect touch to bring the story to life.
With its perfect blend of warmth, romance, and a touch of festive charm, *A Cornish Christmas at the Farmhouse Bakery* is the ideal read for this season. It’s heartwarming, uplifting, and utterly delightful, and I couldn’t have asked for a better Christmas read. This book left me with a smile on my face and a heart full of joy. Five stars all the way!

A brilliant read, the reader is drawn in from the start and real life is put on hold. Book two in the Escape to Cornwall series, but a standalone book. I have read book one and enjoyed it immensely, and this one is equally as good.
Ivy and Adam’s story as they relocate to Cornwall to join Jess and the gang on the farm, and open a bakery ( Ivy’s specialty)
A book I would highly recommend,

Are you interested in a delightful escape into a world where love, warmth, and freshly baked treats await? Then look no further than A Cornish Christmas at the Farmhouse Bakery by Linn B. Halton.
Meet Ivy and Adam Taylor. They are newlyweds who have poured their hearts and souls into building their own businesses. However, when circumstances conspire against them, their dreams come crashing down (been there, amirite?).
Then a Christmas miracle is suggested: opening the bakery Ivy has always dreamed of at their Cornish farmhouse. Ivy hesitates but as the couple start from scratch in their new location, they discover they are far from alone. The tight-knit community excels at celebrating Christmas, and as the snow falls, anything becomes possible.
Halton's writing captures the magic of the Christmas season, and weaves together themes of love, resilience, and community. The characters come alive against the backdrop of a charming Cornish village, where the scent of freshly baked goods mingles with the crisp winter air. Ivy and Adam's journey is one of hope, second chances, and the power of shared dreams.
Thank you to NetGalley and Aria & Aries for a temporary e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

The plan Ivy and Adam Taylor had for themselves quickly changes when Ivy’s landlord tells her he won’t be renewing her lease. She’s not able to find a property in close proximity that is suitable to open her bakery permanently. That is until her friend Jess suggests that she open a bakery at her Cornish Farmhouse.
Ivy’s not sold on the idea of uprooting their life and moving away from family, especially if they plan on having children anytime soon. When Jess divulges to Ivy her plan, it may be an opportunity that is too good to be true. Will a move to the Cornish coast just in time for Christmas be just what Ivy and Adam are looking for.
I enjoyed this novel and will be recommending it to others. The idea of what Jess plans to create on her property sounds magical. I’ve read many books that have been set on the Cornish coast and would someday love to travel there.
Thank you to NetGalley and Aria & Ares for allowing me to read an ARC of this novel. #NetGalley #ACornishChristmasAtTheFarmhouseBakery

Book 2 of The Escape to Cornwall series.
When I'm ready for a great relaxation read with snow and wind blowing outside, I turn to books like this. Set in Cornwall this one was hard to put down.
I enjoyed reading Adam and Ivy's story. He is so sweet and supportive of her and all her endeavors going forward. Making the hard decision to relocate because of personal and business decisions we follow along with the couple as they experience ups and downs. Hard work pays off though in the end. Warm, feel-good read with holiday festivity.

Lovely feel good festive book. Just delightful. It had a lovely plot. It played out nicely. The book was well written. Another hit from this great author

I loved this next book in the series. When I read Linns books I feel like I’m right there experiencing everything the characters are. She weaves the storylines together beautifully and it makes me hoping the next book will come out quickly so I can see what each character is up too. I enjoyed seeing the farmhouse get a bakery while helping best friends. The story is heartwarming and a continuation of life at the farmhouse and how a community can be there for each other especially the holidays.

I would recommend this book to family and friends

Sweet. Sweet. Sweet Christmas story, about a filling community and love. It's really good for holidays to put on some comfy socks and drink some hot beverage

I loved this book. I hadn't read anything by Linn before but look forward to reading more. It was a great read over the Christmas holiday. It was like a warm hug and I hope we see more about the characters. I would love to visit the farm and bakery. It was so descriptively written I could almost smell the baking and imagine the cottages. Ivy and Adam put themselves out of their comfort zone for a new start. Look forward to hopefully the next book.

3.5*
Ivy Taylor was about to lose the business she and her husband, Adam had worked hard to build. The owner of the building in Stroud housing Ivy’s very successful café isn’t renewing her lease and has decided to sell leaving Ivy in the lurch. By contrast, Renweneth Farm run by Ivy’s best friend Jess in Cornwall seems to be going from strength to strength with the help of Riley, the builder and Jess’s plans to expand. Both Ivy and Adam have tough decisions to make job wise as their lives take unexpected turns. Jess puts forward a possible solution but it might be a step too far for Ivy. Moving away from all that was familiar and starting somewhere new was a scary thought.
I’ve read and enjoyed several books by this author but this one didn’t engage me as much as I’d hoped and I did struggle with it. I liked the premise, the friendships and the descriptions of places and people but there were a few niggles, mainly a huge amount of general, every day dialogue which slowed the story down, and became quite repetitive in parts.
