I was very excited to escape to the countryside in Cornwall for a lovely Christmas story with descriptions of delicious baked goods woven in.
When I read the synopsis, the plot was described as centering around Jess who has moved with her 8 year old daughter Lola to her grandfather's farm in Cornwall. The book was supposed to center around her efforts to restore the farm and bring the community together. I was a little confused when I started and it seemed to center, rather around Jess' friend Ivy whose bakery and cafe is closing due to her landlord selling the shop out from under her. The first 100-150 pages centered on Ivy's figuring out what to do next. She finally agrees to move to Cornwall to takeover the farmhouse bakery on Jess' estate. The rest of the book is about Ivy shoring up the bakery, adding a cafe, and helping Jess organize the Christmas festival.
The end was a heartwarming Christmas gathering of family and friends celebrating the success of the estate renovations and bakery/cafe opening.
Overall, this was a sweet and cozy read. It was just a little off the mark for me. Like I said, there was the confusion about the main character, and I prefer a little more action or intrigue than just every day life, but that is personal preference. I did love the descriptions of the Cornish countryside and the community.
Thank you to Netgalley and Aria and Aries Publishing for granting me the opportunity to read this ARC. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Lovely to be back at Renweneth Farm. You follow Adam and Ivy’s story. Great. Lots of hard decisions and hard work. People are quick to judge. I loved the story. Lots of teamwork. Loved the idea of healthy cakes. Felt for Rachel.. A brilliant read. A perfect happy ending for Adam and Ivy

I received a free copy of, A Cornish Christmas at the Farmhouse Bakery, by Linn B. Halton, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is book 2 of The Escape to Cornwall series. Newly weds Adam and Ivy are starting over in the winter, in Cornwall. This book has so much heart, everyone comes together to help Ivy and Adam start a new business, everyone deserves friends like that. Such a great Christmas story, just warmed my heart.

A compelling read set in lovely Cornwall. It was a heartwarming story full of love and romance. I found it hard to put down. I loved it.

A Cornish Christmas at the Farmhouse Bakery...
All in all I would say this is a good, sweet, and charming Christmas story. Jess is the main character who's husband falls out of love with her and quickly he moves on. Jess and her daughter Lola set out on a new adventure. Jess's grand father has the perfect place for them to start fresh.
I really did feel for Jess, having to start fresh after your husband says he doesn't love you anymore can't be easy. It is nice to see her get back out there, starting fresh, and find happiness.
A sweet Christmas story!

I was excited to read this book. I love Christmas novels, they are so cozy and sweet. Yes, they are also predictable and cheesy but they are meant to be and it’s why I read them.
Unfortunately this book didn’t hit the mark for me. I don’t know any other way to say it but there was so much dialogue, I would say 80% of all the writing was dialogue with very little information in between. The conversations were a bit repetitive and got to be tiresome. I do think it’s a good concept and I like the idea of the story, unfortunately this writer doesn’t line up with my reading style.
Thank you to @netgalley and Aria and Aries publishing for letting me read this book early in exchange for a review.
This book releases Oct 12 2023.

A really heartwarming story that makes the season great. It makes you automatically think you are in the story like a book version of a hallmark movie

A sweet all be it standard romance about a couple who are forced to take some risks, starting new work and move to a new place. It was nice, but be prepared that a key side story is left hanging (in an unsatisfying way for me).

I absolutely adore acquiring books like this. They are so cozy and filled with family. I could relate so much to Jess and her situation. I also loved her grandfather as well! I was laughing, crying, and enjoyed every moment. The beautiful scenery didn’t hurt either, Itvwas a wonderful book to show sometimes everything doesn’t work out as planned bc something even better is in. Store! Cannot wait to share with our readers.
