A sweet summer read. Perfect for sensitive or the younger YA readers. A great Beach read. A rerelease of an older story as many of Blumes books are happening.

Like a revisiting a friend. This is a classic Judy Blume. I read this book when I was about 12/13 amidst the scandal of all her books, too much sex would give us ideas!!! I devoured it then and devoured again this time round. It nothing like I’d read now as an adult but was lovely to re read it. It made me think of lipgloss, giggles in the library, impulse spray and that innocence you have as teenager the longing to grow up…if only we know. I think teenagers might expect a bit more from books today but I’d say this will stand strong in YA fiction even for todays teens. Think vintage the summer I turned pretty. I can remember being embarrassed when I was caught reading books like these but am sure teens to today will wonder what the scandal was all about. Trip down memory lane just in time for summer. I am beyond excited to acquire this for our location! I know what a staple Judy Blume book are and it is a privilege to have them available for our readers! Especially with summer in full swing what better to revisit a classic like Summer sisters! It is so nice to see these books being passed from generation to generation.
