Emily feels lucky to get a job in the home of Dr and Mrs Roth, looking after Sabrina as a nurse. It is finally her chance to earn a good wage and clear her debts. At first Emily finds Sabrina to be cold and rude but is happy to put up with it to keep her job. Then one day Sabrina tells her something shocking and she must decide if it is real or the delusions of a very disturbed woman... A thrilling and dark story that keeps you turning the pages until the shocking ending. Loved it!

I read this book pretty quickly as I couldn't put it down. I thought I knew what it would be, but the twists are amazing and I was surprised by what was happening.
It does start off pretty slow, but you really do need to push through and keep reading as it get good!!
I'll definitely be recommending this one.

Emily has just landed a new position as a private nurse. She lives with her friend, her only family was her mother and sister both sadly have passed away. Her employer Mr Roth wanted the valedictorian and got her in Emily. She unfortunately is in debt from being at school and desperately needs the job which is to look after Mrs Roth, Mr Roth being a psychiatrist. It appears Mrs Roth suffers from PTSD amongst other mental issues some of which stem from childhood. As Emily gets to know her patient, she wonders if everything she has been told is true or is Mr Roth conveniently keeping his wife sedated for other reasons?
Oh boy! Flabbergasted! One of those reads I couldn't turn fast enough- to me the skill of a brilliant author. There's a clever tension amongst the pages, something I couldn't quite put my finger on but kept me reading and reading. The twist at the end blew me away, something I didn't put my finger on- how very clever and well crafted. Prepare to be surprised and read into the small hours. A fast paced, addictive rollercoaster of a book I couldn't put down and one that captivated me. A big 5*

The Nurse by Jenna Kernan was a fast paced thriller. I could not work out who lying. It was an absolutely gripping read! From start to finish I was hooked. When you think you have it worked out boom another twist is thrown at you.
Emily is just out of nursing school when she lands a job working for a rich phycologist and his mentally unstable wife. When the wife starts to fight to remain coherent and sends out alarm bells. Emily doesn’t know who trust.
This was a terrific fast paced read that kept me flying through the book I will be highly recommending this to everyone.
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

OMG. This started out on the slower side with a lot of setting the scene, but once things started moving, forget the kids. Forget dinner. Forget adulting. Forget sleep.
Emily needs money, Dr. Roth needs someone to watch his ill wife Sabrina and make sure she stays medicated, because she's mentally unwell. Easy job. Until Sabrina starts to fight to remain coherent and sends out alarm bells. Who does Emily trust?
Fast paced. You won't know who to believe. Twists and turns you don't see coming. Really bleary eyes the next morning when you only got three hours of sleep, because you HAD to finish this one. A++
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!

Gobsmacked! Absolutely loved this to the point where I'm not looking into the author's other books and downloading them.
Initially I thought this was going to be very similar to other psychological thrillers I've read. The setup is familiar - wealthy, good looking man hires a down-on-her-luck young woman to watch over mysteriously ill wife. I find the premise irresistible because I've read many versions of this book before. However in this case, the author takes it in a very interesting direction which is fresh and unique.
Yes it moves very slowly at the beginning. The chapters are long and there's lots of drawn out description and dialogue. However I enjoyed the descriptions of settings at the beginning as it really helped ground me in the place. If you're reading and getting bogged down in the initial slow pace don't give up. I promise it'll be worth it.
By the time we got to the end I was hoping the author would take the story in the direction where it went. I was absolutely delighted that indeed she did but still managed to make my jaw drop even though I had guessed the twist.
I'll say this - there's a lot of detail in this book. But all of it matters. Little details will knit together and make sense when you get to the end.
Recommend very strongly if you're a fan of this genre! Also, I finished it in a few hours.

This is the first time that I am not finishing a Netgalley ARC. Sadly, this book just took me way too long to get into. Only at 20 pages does the nurse (the main character) get to the house, at 50 pages she still hasn’t met her patient. There are so many descriptions of places and other visuals and the story is just not moving forward. At 55 pages in nothing had happened yet and I just had to give up. This is sadly not fast paced thriller I was looking for.

I was intrigued from the first chapter. This is a well written, fast, page turner describing a world of wealth and psychological manipulation. I was blown away by the twist in the plot. It was a one day read for me.
Thank You to NetGalley, Bookouture and Jenna Kernan for the opportunity to enjoy this ARC.

Who is lying??
Enough twists and a little bit scary.
A terrific fast paced read that kept me flying through the book.
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.
A manic read!

This was an absolutely gripping read! From start to finish I was captivated and immersed in this storyline, it was unputdownable.
"The Nurse" is a relentless rollercoaster of intrigue and suspense. When you think you know what's going on think again, my emotions were all over the place with this cast of characters. I was so eager to unravel the mysteries lurking within these pages, the final few chapters especially exceeded all of my expectations.
I'm not giving away any piece of this plot, go in with just the knowledge from the blurb and prepare for an excellent Mystery Thriller.
Thank you Jenna Kernan, Net Galley and Bookouture for providing me with an ARC of this book.

This was a fast paced thriller that kept me guessing the whole time! Really enjoyed the book! Thanks to net galley and the publisher for the advanced copy!
4.5⭐️

Emily needs money desperately, so when she is handpicked by the wealthy and successful psychiatrist, Dr. Roth, she jumps at the chance. He needs a private nurse for his wife, Sabrina. Most critical to her duties is ensuring Sabrina takes her medications and that she does not drive. When Sabrina is off her meds she talks about a car accident, the death of a little boy, and how her husband is keeping her trapped. Dr. Roth points out Sabrina is delusional. Who is trustworthy and who is lying? Why does Emily feel the need to stay in this unhealthy and potentially dangerous environment? The Nurse began slowly with too much focus on how much money Emily needs and little else, so it took awhile to feel engaged in the story. That said, about halfway through, the book did pick up in speed and intensity. It was interesting and twisted, and quite enjoyable. With thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC. My opinions are my own.

The Nurse had me from the very first page and I didn't want to put it down! It was fantastic and I feel like this is a great book for readers who are new to mystery thrillers.
Our protagonist Emily is fresh out of nursing school when she lands a job working for a rich phycologist and his mentally unstable wife. Once she starts, Emily wonders if she's not just dealing with the wife's mental illness, but something much more sinister.
This book was fast paced, and the author does a great job of making you feel like you're right next to Emily trying to figure out the mystery. It was exciting and had me guessing the entire time. Just when you think you know what's happening, it shifts, and it's hard to know who you can trust. There was times Emily frustrated me with her indecision, but all in all I enjoyed her as our main character.
I was originally going to give it 4 stars, just because of Emily's decision making, but the overall experience and ending made up for it.

Just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, a new twist is thrown in and you find yourself on the other side. Who’s telling the truth? Is anyone? Fast-paced and addictive, a book you won’t want to put down.

Which one is lying? The patient or the doctor. The nurse wonders. This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher and the gifted author. Secrets keep this story moving. Realistic characters add to the suspense. This is a cannot put down thriller. I liked trying to guess the ending.

This book totally freaked me out! It was scary and gripping. I couldn’t put it down! A must read for anyone who enjoys a good thriller!

This book is an absolute must-read! It's incredibly compelling and had me hooked from the very first page. I couldn't put it down and didn't want it to end. Without a doubt, one of the best books I've come across this year.
The fast-paced plot makes it a real page-turner, and the suspense kept me guessing until the very end. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves thrilling reads that keep you on the edge of your seat. Don't miss out on this gem! #TheNurse #NetGalley
