Thank you NetGalley for gifting me this book.
I absolutely loved it. It was the cutest, quite funny and endearing. I loved Hindi!! It’s not always that the pet is a goat lol.
I had a great time reading this book and would gladly read another book from this author.

As a sucker for a cute city-country romance, the author definitely brought that with this story - with adorable animals to sweeten the deal.
Things I Liked:
-the dynamic between Samantha and Travis: they start off rocky but then their banter only grows from here and it was fun to read watching them become more and more open with one another. I think people who like characters who have a lot of cheeky banter, they’d enjoy the relationship between them.
-Travis’ view on the city: Many of these stories always have this very negative view of the city, especially coming from the character who lives in the country, so it was nice to see a different take to it from the author. It was nice that the story doesn’t trash the things that come from being from the city.
Things I Didn’t Like As Much:
-The latter end of the book’s telling rather than showing that breezes through the plot: Towards the end of the story, it felt like many of these issues were building up only to be wrapped up and resolved a little too easily and a little too perfectly. While maybe this could have been in an attempt to keep the story lighthearted, it would have been nice to see a more substantial view into these beginning struggles for the couple, given their predicament, so that when this final resolution happens, it would have a more satisfying effect.
Overall, a really cute story that reminds me of a good sweet romance. My personal wishes for it mostly being that the latter half be more built out to match the pace of the first half of the novel.
An amazing funny story . Samantha is a movie producer who lives in NY and her boss ask to go and stay for the next three months at the place where the movie they produce in Emerald Creek Indiana because it is being delayed . When she arrives the first person she meets is a hot cowboy which his cow is not moving from the road and she can;t drive . The cowboy turns out to be the mayor who doesn't give permission for the film shootings . Their attraction is off the charts and at the beginning they try to remain friends but eventually they start dating . What will happen when she has to leave and go back to her life in NY ?
I received this book from net galley and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own .
First I would like to say that I really like the cover. This would definitely be a book I would pick up at the store.
The story takes us with samantha baker, a woman who has a busy job in the movie business in the middle of New York. Samantha is sent by her boss to a small town to help the film crew who are shooting there. They run into some problems.
All problems are actually caused by 1 person.. the mayor also known as travis. After a lot of bickering and sexual tension, the 2 fall head over heels for each other and eventually, despite their problems, have a happily ever after.
I liked the writing style of the book. The book is not too thick, which I like.
I didn't have much with Samantha myself, but I really liked Travis! And omg the goat!! I wish I had seen more of her 🤣.
It felt a bit rushed at the end of the book. suddenly a month had passed and she was going to go back to New York the next day. I feel like I was missing something there.
All in all a fun and cute book!
Ps: where did that horse suddenly come from? that was so random in the whole book there was no horse.🤣🤣
Somewhat disappointing, both because of the insta-love from Travis and the very rushed ending. Samantha then from a perfect city girl, transforms in three weeks into a lover of the countryside and family life. I don't know, it didn't convince me that much.
I received from the Publisher a complimentary digital advanced review copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.
This is the fourth book by Camilla Isley that I have had the pleasure to read, and let me tell you it did not disappoint. I devoured it in one sitting and I think it might be my favorite by Camilla so far.
Love to Hate You is a cute, funny, closed door rom-com that will make you giggle and fall in love with Sam and Travis.
Samantha Baker is a city girl to the core and can’t imagine living her life anywhere other than busy Manhattan. When her boss insists she move to a small town in Indiana for three months to oversee the production of the movie that is filming there, she is devastated, but has no choice but to listen to instructions.
Once she arrives in the town of Emerald Creek, she meets all sorts of people, one of them being the infuriating cowboy Travis Hunt who seems to throw a wrench in all her carefully tailored plans.
As Sam navigates her job, she starts to open up to the people (and animals) of Emerald Creek, and realizes that maybe she could see herself in a small town after all, especially when Travis is making it really hard for her to leave. I loved the banter and the tension between Sam and Travis, especially the cake scene (“blessed be the cake”)!
I really loved the little cameos in the book - Lana, Christian, and Mark. (P.S. When will we get Mark’s book? I feel like at this point he absolutely needs one.)
Favorite things about the book:
Opposites attract
Small town
Part time cowboy
Banter & tension
Adorable pets
Thank you, Boldwood Books and NetGalley, for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for this ARC! I LOVED this story. It was so dang cute! Enemies/rivals to lovers, small-town romance, cowboys…everything you could want for a warm fuzzy read! It reminded me a lot of the Hannah Montana movie, but for adults! The spice was very tasteful; basically just closed-door scenes. I would definitely recommend this book!
This is the fourth in series but can be read as a standalone. This book focuses on Sam, who we met in The Love Theorem. Sam is sent off to Indiana to fix some problems on a movie set. While there, she meets a cowboy lawyer whose family runs the B&B where she is staying. She misses New York fiercely…what New Yorker is used to cows blocking the only street to her B&B? Oh, and the mayor is stalling signing off on their permits to film in public spaces.
This book was lighthearted fun. Enemies to lovers with a touch of forced proximity, likable main characters, excellent side characters, and a very cute goat named Hildi. I loved the mayors “nefarious”reasons for stonewalling production.
if you like sweet romances with low stakes, this is definitely for you. Solid four stars.
Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an arc of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
First off, I think the cover is super cute! This story is about a city girl falling for the small town mayor. It’s definitely a light, easy romance read. The banter between Samantha and Travis was fun as were the farm animals. I think this story is well written and the author, Camilla Isley, did a decent job telling it. That being said, this wasn’t my favorite book by the author. Plus, I’ve read quite a few books within the realm of this books concept and I can’t help but feel this book fell short for me.
God, I love Camilla Isley!
Travis was absolutely perfect and, although a lot of the storyline was reasonably predictable, I enjoyed the chemistry between Travis and Sam.
For some reason, I really love it when the guy calls the girl by her surname!
I enjoyed the ensemble cast, especially Hildi and Fluffy!
Can't wait for the next book by this author as they are always a good read.
Another terrific in the series. This time is about Samantha, movie producer. She is falling in love with small town mayor Travis.
Love that Samantha is so smart and such a girl boss. Travis is terrific too. Great chemistry between the leads. Love this enemies to lover story. Fun romantic book!
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an ARC of this book, in exchange for my honest opinion.
Camilla Isley is becoming one my favorite romance authors, and this sweet story was another perfect one.
Sam is a movie executive overseeing a new movie being filmed in the middle of nowhere Indiana. When her boss tells her she has to leave NYC to go on site and get the movie back on schedule, Sam is heartbroken to leave the city. Reluctantly she packs up and heads to Indiana, and it’s a disaster from her arrival. A cow is blocking the road, when she meets an infuriating cowboy who laughs at her as she tries to talk the cow out of moving. And at her first meeting on set she finds out the town Mayor is responsible for the delays, as he hasn’t signed any of their filming permits. Ready to take the mayor head she goes straight to his office, only to find out that Mr Mayor is the infuriating cowboy who laughed at her yesterday. To get the movie back on track with the filming schedule she has no choice but to work alongside of her new enemy, Mr Mayor. But we all know enemies tend to make the best lovers, and it’s not long before Sam and him are really hitting it off. But as her time in Emerald Creek comes to an end, what will happen to her and Mr Mayor?
I loved every second of this story, and the diverse setting of NYC to rural farm land. I also loved watching Sam and Travis’ relationship bloom, and watch her fall in love with a new town she thought she hated. A 5/5 sweet romance story, that I highly recommend!
Wow! What an amazing book!!
Would love to read more from the author.
Thankyou netgalley for the Arc!
Thank you to NetGalley and this publisher for providing me with a ARC copy of Love to Hate You in exchange for an honest review.
Love to Hate You felt a little over the top. The characters were caricatures of themselves, so heavily exaggerated their tropes were. I liked the storyline but the book would benefit from some more editing.
