I always into grumpy x sunshine trope, plus since it set on small town I love this book moreee.

This book remind me with Emily Henry's book, since the set place, banter, and trope.

I love how Samantha get annoyed to stay in countryside, and then Travis always "tease" her to make she more annoyed.

Their banters really suited me, and I love the way author depicted the countryside, which made me easy to absorb the story.

I like this book better than the predensors!

Thank you Netgalley and Boldwood Publishing for the ARC!

This small town romance was perfect! The characters were fun, and story was so easy to get into!

When sent to a small town in Indiana, film producer, Samantha Baker, fears her life will be over. She dreads leaving her beloved Manhattan. She arrives in Emerald Creek to get the movie she’s producing back on track, and find that the Mayor of the town is the reason for the delays in filming. Of course Mayor Theodore Abraham Hunt, is the hunky cowboy, Travis, she met at his mom’s B&B. While they start off as nemeses they soon find themselves giving into their mural attraction. When hate turns to lust and eventually love can this city girl figure out how to make a relationship with a small town mayor work?

Over this was a really fun read. A feel good romcom.

TROPES
🤠 Enemies to Lovers

Love to Hate You Follows Samantha, a movie producer living in NYC, as she heads to a smalltown in Indiana to get a movie back on track. What she wasn’t expecting was to have to go toe to toe with the town’s mayor Travis.

This was such a fun read. I love books that features movie/TV production and it was fun to see it from a producer’s POV. I tend to be picky about cowboy romance, but this worked well because of what Travis spent his time doing before being a mayor.

It’s for that reason I actually really wish we had some chapters from Travis’ POV, since Samantha is filling a void for him in a way. I really would like to see his internal grappling with that. But, seeing everything from Samantha’s POV kept us pleasantly in the dark. It was nice to see them work through issues and try to find solutions that benefited them both, particularly in the third act of the book. And, there is no third act break up, which was nice.

The waterfall scene is hands down my favorite in a Camilla Isley book so far. 👀🌊

This was a solid and quick read that was cute and different from what I’ve read recently, and for that, I am grateful.

Description: If Samantha’s Baker’s life were as simple as one of the movies she produces, when she gets banished to the country and fights with the local hunk cowboy soon afterwards they’d fall in love.

Travis Hunt knows what it’s like to miss the city. He’s given up everything to take over the family ranch and become mayor of Emerald Creek. He has responsibilities. Small town life just can’t compete with all the hustle and bustle of New York City.

But what if it’s not where you are that you call home… What if it’s who you find while you’re there?

Review: Another great book from Camilla Isley

Love to Hate you is a perfect, cosy, small town read, it was so good I read it in one sitting, could not put it down.

The book has a great blend of tropes - hate to love and small town and the author executes them perfectly. Samantha is your typical city girl - she loves living in the big city with all the luxuries at her doorstep, she’s career driven and looks down on small town life. At the beginning I thought she was going to be a character I would really dislike but as the story develops you get to see a softer side of her which helps to balance her out.

Travis is an absolute cinnamon roll - clever, smart, sexy. The love this man has for his mother is so sweet. He’s the guy we all want to marry.

I loved the chemistry between these two and seeing their relationship develop as they navigate all the bumps in the road. There’s loads of chemistry but no spice as the scenes fade to black.

I love that the happy ending for this couple didn’t result in Samantha having to give up her job proving you really can have it all

A great book and I’d definitely read more by this author

This book was sooo cute. Your usual city girl and country boy romance but it was done very well. I’m going to be honest in the beginning I was a little annoyed with the female main character due to how negative she was about her situation, being that she was sent to the middle of nowhere. Which I understand as well but I felt she just too negative about it all. But I LOVED Travis with all my heart. He was just the sweetest and funniest dude. And Hildi the goat omg. I want a goat now. This book felt like a warm hug and something that I would grab if I just wanted a quick, cute cowboy romance. My one wish with this book is that the end wasn’t so rushed. It felt like it all of a sudden came to a close in a sense that all the weeks and experiences were summarized and glazed over. But other than that I loved this book!

A witty enemy to lovers' rom com to entertain and delight for hours! She's a big city girl and he's come home to help his family and town out with no chance to leave soon. He's also decided to be a pain in her side making it harder for her to accomplish her goals and get back to the city where she belongs. However, the longer they spar the more it becomes clear that neither is sure where she belongs. If you are looking for a book with fun dialogue from sparring main characters with a happily ever after, then this is your book! If you love a good Hallmark movie romance, then this book is definitely for you! I can't wait to read more from this series!

What a cute small town romance. I also loved enemies to lovers aspect of the book. The new title and the new cover for the book is also to die for, it's sooo cute! The only thing I wish that was different about the book was that I wish it was dual pov! I would have loved to know Travis' pov, his thoughts and feelings on certain situations. What did he think of Samantha from the beginning when they were "enemies", when they were resisting each other, how did he feel?, what did he think when he entered the bar and saw Samantha and the sheriff?, stuff like that. I also feel like the story was a little too convenient and cliche with the ending but I guess that's to be expected for happily ever after romances!

If you're looking for a quick, fun, enemies to lovers, small town romance read for this summer, I would recommend this one!!

Samantha Baker is a NYC movie producer, transplanted to rural Indiana to make sure the big budget film she's in charge of is completed on time.  She faces a few distractions, one from the mayor of the town that seems to be purposely delaying production.

I've yet to read anything by Camilla Aisley I haven't liked.  This is another book in a series is loosely connected.  Some characters from another book are mentioned, but you don't need to read them to enjoy this one.

The FMC, Samantha, is a fish out of water, but I really enjoy how she handles herself.  She's smart, determined, feisty, and kind.  She quickly adapts to any situation.  The MMC is basically the perfect guy.  It's understandable that Sam fell for him, I know I did! Their banter really sold me on this relationship.  The setting was dreamy and filled with some adorable animals that tried to steal the spotlight.  This was a light, clean, fun romance and the perfect book to escape in.

*thank you to Netgalley, Camilla Isley and boldwood books for the ARC. opinions are my own*

this was another great palate cleanser! I read it when the books I was previously reading got a little too heavy on my heart (looking at you Carian Cole and Penelope Douglas)

When Samantha Baker’s project isn’t going as planned, her boss tells her she has to leave NYC and go to Emerald Creek - she is less than thrilled. While staying in Emerald Creek, Samantha realizes how out of her element she truly is, but things get interesting when she meets Travis Hunt. He always seems to be … well everywhere … and when she realizes the movie isn’t on schedule and it’s his fault … she’s furious. Eventually the two realize the feelings they have aren’t just hate and actually do better together. But what’s going to happen when the film is finished?

Samantha is a badass not only in her field but seems like shes a good friend too. Travis is the heart of the town and a good son. Throw in an assertive goat and you’ve got yourself a cute little love story. This would make for a good beach read!

Really wholesome tale of movie producer Samantha Baker and the mayor of Emerald Creek, Travis Hunt! Sam is sent to save her movie shooting in Emerald Creek and runs into Mr Mayor on the way! Will she make it back to New York City without killing Travis?

Samantha Baker is sent to a small town to move along the production of a movie she is the lead producer on. When she gets there, she realizes that she is really out in the sticks and is staying a local bed and breakfast. Travis is the son of the bed and breakfast owner, but also ends up being the mayor of the town who is holding up the permitting that is needing for filming. He negotiates with Sam and ends up getting the film crew to do a lot of work around the town in exchange for their permits. Even though Sam does not like Travis at first, they grow to like each other and Travis is wondering how he he can convince her to stall in Emerald Creek.

Such a cute story!! The town was so sweet and Christian was swoon worthy 😍 I felt myself smiling the whole time and the cow in the middle of the road led to an adorable meet cute. I love how Sam was still able to keep her job but end up where she wanted to be in the end.

It is a wholesome book and I totally recommend it. It has a big-city-girl has to move to the countryside and at first hates it, but ends up falling it love with the small town and the annoying cowboy who is also the town mayor.

It is an easy read and the characters know how to communicate with each other, which is something I always love. There is no third-act break-up, and I love the way the conflict is resolved.

Also, it is a little spicy, but it's closed door.

Overall, it's the perfect book to read in a summer afternoon and enjoy a funny but also heartfelt story.

Love to Hate You is an opposites-attract, enemies-to-lovers, Rom-Com that focuses on highly successful movie producer Samantha Baker and small-town heartthrob Travis Hunt. I really enjoyed watching Samantha and Travis's relationship evolve through learning to work together instead of against one another while getting to see Samantha experience the small town she was sure she was going to hate.

Camilla Isley is so great at creating funny romances that are light and have interesting characters. I loved the cat and goat in this book and what they added to Samantha's journey. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet summer read that will make you want to visit your nearest small town.

An easy, cut read--perfect for Hallmark channel fans. Just a little sexy but general PG13. A sweet little city girl meets country cowboy romance.

Funny. I laughed out loud. Just the right amount of enemies. I liked Sam and her City vibe, I was surprised by Travis in a good way about his past. The growth between these two MCs was beautiful to read. Love them so much.

Love to Hate You by Camilla Isley
This is part of the First Comes Love series. You can read it as a standalone, but there will be major spoilers for the previous books.

Hallmark movie in book form. City woman goes to small town. Can't stand to leave NYC. Eventually she falls in love with a goat, a giant cat, and her lawyer cowboy. Swoon!

So many good highlights, this one is my favorite:
“No.” I stand up, throwing away my napkin. “Absolutely not! You can’t do the dishes.” Travis’s eyebrows rise in surprise. “Why not?” Words tumble out of my mouth without filters. “Because you can’t be a great cook, an even better kisser, and also be the kind of man who does the dishes.”

Camilla Isley has done it once again!

Love to Hate You is a beautiful romantic comedy that follows the story of Samantha, a driven movie producer who is asked to fix the delays encountered in an upcoming Christian Slater movie. She has to leave her beloved New York City behind for rural Indiana. Theodore Abraham Hunt (aka Travis) is a man of many skills (mayor, cowboy and lawyer), and one of them is to be the bane of Samantha's existence. The line between love and hate is extremely thin as banter and sizzling chemistry seize the protagonists as the chapters progress. The scenic and farm animal descriptions were well done, adding to this book's romantic and sweet vibes. I appreciated the refreshing take on the conflict between the characters and their collaboration and dedication to making the relationship work. The epilogue was highly endearing! I hope we get an Amber and Duncan book, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Samantha Baker is a movie producer who loves the big city, and she's not happy when her boss orders her to move to Smalltown Indiana to get a film production back on track. The problem is Travis Hunt, the local mayor, who's holding everything up.

I love enemies to lovers, and I really enjoyed the banter and watching the relationship between Samantha and Travis evolve and grow. I super appreciated that the drama at the end didn't involve a huge breakup with a corny solution. This was so much better! Also, I loved the goat! ❤️
