This is a fantastic romance that wove in a lot of more serious emotions and dynamics to give depth to both the stories and the characters, and also brought its A game with the representation. It’s always great to see more diverse characters but to see them written so well is an even bigger delight. Chloe Liese has really managed to capture the strengths and vulnerabilities of Kate and Christopher throughout this book, offering insight into ADHD and migraines without making these conditions the only focus in these characters. I found that despite having a different condition myself, I could identify with Christopher in particular, in how his migraines affected his interactions with the world and how he maintained privacy surrounding his condition. For that alone, I’d rate this book highly but I couldn’t get enough of the dynamics between Christopher and Kate, with their bickering and then their attempts to repair their relationship which had suffered years of damage. The development of their romance was a fragile, beautiful thing but they definitely fit together and took me on a total rollercoaster ride of emotions. It’s definitely one you’ll want to read!
I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own.

I absolutely loved this. It had everything I could've hope for. It simply was balm on my soul. Christopher was amazing character; hero you fall in love from beginning. Kate, oh I so felt for her in quite few situations but then she was this special heroine herself and yes she was such an awesome character to read.

I am a huge Liese fan: the Bergman books are some of my favourites and I really enjoyed the first in this new series. Now, I really enjoyed this- it had the typical banter Liese is known for, and I am always a huge Stan on her diversity and inclusion when it comes to her characters. I enjoyed the neurodivergent representation, probably the most out of all her books so far… I felt that we could have seen a bit more of the MMC’s chronic illness though…in terms of how it affects him especially during an episode. As a retelling story goes, it was great. The only thing that held this back from a five star for me was that it seemed these long rooted feelings came kinda out of no where… this is where you need a flashback. Anyway- I love Liese’s progressive characters and narrative, it’s something that really hasn’t taken root in new releases yet. Bravo!
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for an arc of this book!

"As the stars align, your path shifts. Change creates new chances. Old wounds offer wisdom. Your future awaits. The question is: Are you brave enough to embrace it?"
There were just so many things to love about this book. From a neurodiverse FMC to a MMC that suffers from chronic migraines, there were numerous facets to connect to.
What starts as an unreluctant reunion between childhood enemies, quickly becomes an emotional discovery filled with angst and heart. What happens when you realise that perhaps hate was never hate, and that we are all more than from which we suffer.
I cannot wait for the next book, and to carry on the journey with the loveable and quirky Wilmot sisters.

God whatever Chloe is doing with her releases this year, she needs to keep doing it! This was beyond stunning! Honestly, i swooned, I giggled, I cried, I felt so seen and heard, I saw myself in this story and that’s honestly what I adore about Chloe Liese the most— whenever I read one of her books, I see parts of myself in her characters and it makes me feel so comforted and understood. Kate was a forced to be reckoned with, so delicate and fierce, and her inner struggles were handled with such care and tenderness.
Christopher was 🫠… well, Chloe knows how to write the perfect hero. I’ll tell you! I’ve never disliked a single man she’s written and now Christopher is vying for top spot and poor Seb and Johnathan are trying so damn hard to cling onto the podium ;) his love for Kate was so heart-achingly tender and all-consuming. I even cried during their first intimate scene because I was so taken off guard with how stunning it was. I felt like I was intruding a bit, lol.
And honestly one of the BEST things about their “hate” to love dynamic was the perfect level of pettiness Chloe included. Their strained dynamic is decades long, entrenched in history and misunderstandings, silly assumptions and bouts of longing they don’t know how to deal with. And it felt real without being irritating. I find grown adults beinf enemies ridiculous in a romcom setting since it’s usually over the silliest, most absurd things. But because of Kate and Christopher’s longggg history and how intertwined their families were, everything made perfect sense and it just toed the line of pettiness where it’s still funny and juicy without me getting annoyed. They were just delightful, truly.
God I just had a blast reading this and I’m wondering how she’s gonna top this with Juliet’s book? Cant wait for our final Wilmont Sister🤭

Very excited for this one, love the Shakespearean tie in as well! Sometimes Shakespeare could be a bit confusing and books like these take the Mai themes he’s trying to portray in his books and puts them in modern situations. I can’t wait to delve into Katerina and Christopher’s relationship. I absolutely love a childhood friends love type novel and I can’t wait to see how they went from love to hate and fingers crossed back to love once again. I will be sharing a full review and much more thoughts very soon!
