The storyline was good, but it needed some more excitement. Saygar was interesting but had a one-tract mind, and that was food. Jojo, Julia, and Saygar made an unusual trio, but little Sam was the star for me.

I couldn't seem to engage or stay interested in this story because there was too much telling and not enough showing. By showing I mean using dialogue to further the action and bring it into the present. A lot of telling by the main character keeps the story in his head and gets tedious to me as a reader. I always like a lot of dialogue in books and I think most children do also. I didn't finish the book.

Saygar the Detective is an ant and the best friend of Joseph, which when you think about it is really pretty cool. Saygar the Detective: The Case of the Missing Noodle is the third of the series, and it does not disappoint. Joseph’s little cousin, Little Noodle, keeps things really interesting for Joseph and his friends. Lots of unexpected challenges along the way keep them all on their toes. This is such a cute book. I enjoyed the story and the illustrations, and now I must go back and read ALL of the other books in the series. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to review this ARC.

Joseph is fed up to the max with his cousin, Little Noodle. When he tries to get away from the spoiled little brat, Noodle goes missing. With Saygar's help Joseph and his friends set out to find Little Noodle. There is adventure at every turn in this mystery for early chapter readers. Just right for my third grade reader. With teamwork and by following the clues they have quite the thrilling adventure! We loved this read! Thanks #Netgalley and #BooksGoSocial for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine..
