Honestly, Sherry Lowe never misses for me. I love the heartfelt story. Will make you laugh out loud, cry with joy and probably bring back memories of the past. This is a great book to get you into the mood for the holidays and I highly recommend.

Oh my goodness this was an amazing book!
I loved the clever way it was written with each character having a chapter sharing their own Christmas Eve experience from the past/present. All the characters had very significant things happening on that particular day, and they were all intertwined with each other too.
I enjoyed the taste of the different eras of the past Christmas eves, especially the 1993 one ( as I experienced that one myself!) and was so drawn into each character’s stories. I kept thinking I will put the book down for a while after this chapter, then something would happen and I would have to keep reading!
Lots of fantastic surprises to discover on Christmas Eve too!
Emotional but also uplifting, this is a perfect Christmas story that grabs your heart and your imagination.
So so good!

A lovely family saga told over 3 time periods and alternating between the 3 main characters. Clare, the grandmother, Helena her daughter and Eve the granddaughter.
Each of their three stories are creatively told and I quickly became absorbed in their lives.
Elements of humour, some romance and a wonderful relationship between grandmother and granddaughter which made me smile.
An easy to read, feel good book.

One of the things this author does so well is stories told over different timelines. This festive story explores three related women's lives on Christmas Eve in 1968, 1993 and 2023. It is an engaging mix of humour and poignancy, with romantic touches and family drama. It's a tale of mothers and daughters and the sacrifices made. Cathy, Helena and Eve are lovely, flawed characters, relatable and easy to like. It's an emotional, immersive read; you need to know what happens next and how it affects the next generation. I enjoyed the festive setting, the different timelines and stories, and their emotional connection.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

Three generations of strong and successful women bound not just by being family, but by the fact that they all seem to have something shake up their world on Christmas day.

When Eve gets information that the man she thought was her father was not her biological Dad, she is shaken. She can’t imagine her prim and proper, highly placed lawyer mother, having an affair. How can she broach this subject on Christmas eve – the very day her grandmother is moving out of the family home and on the eve of her mother’s birthday?

Family secrets have a way of coming back to haunt us – and with Eve’s discovery, the secrets held by her mother and grandmother are revealed too. Can they accept each other and move forward?

This is another engrossing read from Shari, full of emotion and yet, not without smiles! Love conquers all, as these three women discover!

I love this time of year when all the Christmassy reads come out, it really gets me in the mood for cosy Winter nights. This book from Low is the ultimate Christmas read and I loved every page.
Low sets this over three Christmas Eve's; 2023, 1993 and 1968, on these days the lives of Eve, Helena and Cathy will change forever and they will learn more about their family than they ever thought they would. Firstly, Low has once again created wonderful characters in the shape of Eve, Helena and Cathy, I enjoyed getting to know them, learning about each of them and seeing the relationships between them all play out and develop as well. The plot is also great and there is a mix of sadness, happiness, love, loss and of course Christmas. 'One Christmas Eve' really is the perfect Christmas read and I adored the atmosphere created and all the Christmassy aspects and references. This book is heartwarming and I simply adored it.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an advance copy.

Shari Low - One Christmas Eve.

I could keep this simple, and just say, It’s a Shari Low book, it’s ACE!
That really is the bottom line, but I will attempt to tell you a little more…

#OneChristmasEve is another belting read from the pen of Shari Low.

There is a Christmas theme in this book, but it’s not a full on festive read. The story is all about three generations of women from the same family.
Cathy, Helena and Eve all have had their lives touched or changed on Christmas eve.

Set in the present day, with flashbacks to previous Christmas eves, we learn how life has left it’s mark on all three women. How it’s changed them all and the direction of their lives.
Secrets are shared, and new understandings are reached.

Shari Low is a master of her craft. #OneChristmasEve is a funny, sweet and touching read.

Cathy was a hoot. Please or offend, she says it like it is.
Helena was a little more reserved and uptight.
Finally Eve was quite lovely and an enjoyable character to read.
I especially liked the bond between Eve and Cathy. The relationship that the pair share is very funny and touching.

This is a fast paced story, that doesn’t always go quite where you think it will, but ultimately takes you on a fabulous journey, that will warm your heart and leave you with a big sigh of satisfaction.

#OneChristmasEve is a perfect book to ease you into the festive reading season. A must read this year.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Three different years, three different family members and all with three different meanings.

One of the best things about this author is the talent of how they can write three different narratives over three different characters' points of view and time line, and intertwine it all at the end.

It is because of this I know I will always pick up a novel by this author. My favourite character, out of the main three, had to be Cathy, I loved her attitude, I think Helena annoyed me a little but it didn’t take away from me wanting to read this novel.
This is another great novel by Low and I highly recommend this author as you will not be disappointed.

REVIEW
cw: grief, infidelity
The story of three women, three decades, and three Christmas Eve moments that change their lives forever. On Christmas Eve, 1968, Cathy McLean receives a surprise visit. On Christmas Eve, 1993, Cathy’s daughter Helena is overjoyed to hear that her boyfriend is about to propose. On Christmas Eve 2023, a discovery shocks Helena's daughter, Eve Quinn.
I love Shari Low's writing, and I'm usually immediately hooked by her stories and her characters but this one fell a bit flat for me unfortunately, and I struggled to truly engage with a lot of it. I think it was a mixture of how little I liked (or even empathised with) Helena for most of the story plus the repeated timeshifts. I also thought Eve felt more like a narrator than an active participant for most of the book, and I guessed several of the twists early on. Truthfully, I think the only character I really cared about was Cathy, and even then I didn't really understand why she didn't wait a bit longer if Richie was SO special. That said, I thought Richie was a sweetheart (and also Duncan actually), and I loved Helena's twist, however outlandish it really was.
Although not my favourite by Shari Low, I'd happily read more of her stories.

Not the usual holiday story!

To 3 members of one family, Christmas Eve means 3 different things. Cathy, the grandmother. Helena, the mother. Eve, the daughter (yes, she is named after the day, but you'll find out why when you read it). 3 strong, independent women who make different decisions in life, but they turn out to be connected.

I love Cathy's attitude, sassy at her age. Pulls up stakes and moves house to a new location, well, maybe not new to her after all. Helena, the hard-working, ice cold lawyer. Eve, the daughter who just discovered a life changing secret. One Christmas Eve the truth comes out for them all. Have your tissues ready!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

I LOVE everything Shari Low writes so I was over the moon excited about receiving an arc of her new book One Christmas Eve. It’s the story of three generations of women in the same family that takes place in 3 different timelines on one Christmas Eve. If you’ve read Shari before, then you know your heart will be tugged at. I love holiday books and this made me look forward to this holiday season. Each woman has an individual story and they will all be faces with having to answer a single question and make a decision that may break them but make them who they are. I’m telling you now, I can’t wait to read this one again under my Christmas tree.
Thank you Netgalley, Shari Low, and Boldwood Books for another 5 star read!

First time I have read anything by Shari Low and it did not disappoint. I loved the way it was written, one night 3 women, mum, daughter and granddaughter. It was not your typical Christmas romance which is probably why I enjoyed it so much. Little bit of a twist as well which meant that I didn’t want to put it down. Really enjoyed it and will probably read more by this author.

I was a puddle on the floor after finishing this book.
It is soooooo sweet!! I loved the triptych approach of three generations, all on Christmas Eve.
I was the immediately taken with Cathy’s story and my heart broke for Richie when he came home to claim his girl and got his heart shattered.
I loved how Low knitted the story together. I thought Helena was very foolish to go ahead the a relationship when she knew what kind of man Quinn was. I still don’t grasp her reasoning.
I was saying awwwww as I read the last 1/4 of the book and my heart burst with emotion with the end.
I adored Richie and loved the way it worked out.

I love Books set over different timelines and I really enjoyed getting to know Eve, Helena and Cathy (we all need a Cathy in our lives!). With three timelines to weave together there was a lot going on, but it was easy to follow. As with some of Low's other books the present timeline takes place over just one day with the past feeding into it. Cathy's story was heartbreaking and I was taken aback by her stoicsm and independence. Eve's relationship with her gran was lovely and their strong sense of family and fun were appealing- I really want a twinkly Christmas eve Park!. There was definitely some suspension of disbelief required but it didn't really matter because the story was uplifting and heartwarming and I was rooting for everyone (apart from Bruce). Grab your hot chocolate and fluffy socks and settle down with this lovely book!

I adore a Shari Low book and I am always so excited when a tour lands in my inbox - and even better that there’s a festive theme. I am so ready for the cooler seasons!

I love how this story spans 3 generations of women (from the same family) and tells their stories in alternate chapters. All 3 of these stories take place on Christmas Eve, years apart. It is such a clever idea creating a whole narrative lasting 1 day and it works so well. In 24 hours you will fall in love with Eve, Helena and Cathy and you’ll be so immersed in their worlds that it becomes difficult to leave when the last words are written.

Told through 3 different perspectives, each woman has their own tale to tell. Seeing it through their eyes brings their journeys to life and gives a different feeling to each narrative. It changes how I saw them and their decisions.

As more is revealed about Eve, Helena and Cathy, more mysteries and secrets come into play which makes this book so addictive and riveting. I was desperate to find out the full stories of our ladies and how they’d arrived at the lives they had in the present.

As I have come to expect from a Shari Low book, this story is just pure delight. It has a romantic element but this is so much more. It’s about family, secrets, heartache and love in different forms and I adored every word of it.

I have listened to Shari Low’s “What If?” series and really enjoyed the story (and the narrator - Helen McAlpine). Unfortunately this story didn’t grab my attention in the same way.

The story follows three generations of McLean women on a single Christmas Eve at three different points in time. Each woman’s story sheds light on a question posed in the first chapter and directly impacts the next generation story culminating in the “big reveal” on Christmas Eve/Day 2023.

Initially, I found the three generations interesting and was engaged in the story unfolding, but I started to lose interest about halfway through and had to skim the rest to find out the answer. I’m glad I didn’t invest time reading it properly because the end was too perfect and convenient. It also had nothing to do with Christmas except a few randomly placed Christmas references and decorations.

2.5⭐️ (rounded up)

i've often been gifted a Shari Low book and have never been disapointed by one yet. in this festive instalment we meet Cathy, Helena and Eve, their stories all take part on Christmas Eve, 1968, 1993 and 2023. It's a complicated web of love, family and difficult decisions. You'll get all the emotions from this one.

If you follow my reviews you may have noticed I am a huge fan of Shari Low’s books. I especially love these books which take place over the space of one day.

This book was cleverly written over the space of three different decades by three different women from different generations. The day is split into two hour sections where we find out what happens to Cathy, Helen and Eve at that time in the different years. I’m maybe making it sound complicated but it really isn’t and I loved the way it all came together at the end.

As with each of Shari’s books I was going through all the emotions. One moment I’d be filling up then the next laughing, she has such a beautiful writing style.

This is up there as one of my personal favourites by the author. If you love drama and romance with some twists along the way I recommend this one.

Thank you to Rachel’s Random Resources and the publisher for having me on the tour and for my gifted ebook.

Another triumph by the fantastic @sharilowbooks, this is such a beautifully written story with it's multi generational characters and all three stories are woven together perfectly. The story is heartwarming and emotional and I think any reader will conmeect with the character in their stage of life. I completely adored this book I am crossing my fingers for a sequel.
