I have long been a Shari Low fan. Each of her books are unique with unforgettable characters, witty one liners, real emotion and thoroughly enjoyable storylines. This book did not let me down.
This book is the story of 3 strong women, a daughter, mother and gran, each of them having one memorable Christmas Eve that sets off a chain of remarkable events. All the characters in this book are well written, and you can’t help being drawn to them and carried away with their stories, you imagine them to become your friends, you become invested in them as they are so brilliantly described by the author. As with every family there is a lynch pin holding the family together and in this family it is the gran called Cathy. She is fabulous, funny and outspoken, I laughed out loud and cried happy tears with Cathy.
I was hooked by the first page, set in present time, the morning of Christmas Eve 2023, the results of an innocently done DNA ancestry kit have come through, opening a can of worms, then the story of each of the 3 main characters Christmas Eve’s begins. This book could have been complicated to read and follow as it is about 3 generations set over 3 decades, but it absolutely wasn’t. The story flows naturally, picking up where each page ends, and concludes with a brilliant ending bringing the whole book and the characters together as one, back to midnight of Christmas Eve 2023.
I binge read this book as I was desperate to know what happened then was disappointed when it was finished as I had became so invested in the story and the characters I didn’t want it to end.

❄Superb read😍
I was so engaged in this story of three generations of women in one family that I read it in one sitting. I love the way author Shari Low took one day in the year, in this case Christmas Eve, and built a moving and sweet, romantic story around watershed moments for Glaswegians Cathy, her daughter Helena and granddaughter Eve, on three pivotal Christmas Eves in 1968, 1993 and 2023. And the ending was sublimely uplifting.
The novel alternates between time periods in a really effective way. Cathy's story, which evolves over a fifty+ year period, was the one that I enjoyed the most but the question of Eve's paternity leant a bit of mystery that I really liked. I was hooked from the first chapter and this multi-generational story, with its twists and coincidences, was a total gem.
Excellent storytelling. Wholeheartedly recommended.
Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Three woman from different generations experience a holiday like no other. They will have a choice to make that will alter their lives forever. This book captures the holiday spirit.

Shari Low creates the most wonderful characters! I loved how this one was set over three generations, The secrets that came out kept me hooked and needing to know more! Not a super festive book but it has enough Christmas sparkle to give you all the feels! I laughed and cried and was surprised at some of the confessions but I loved every minute of it!

Absolutely fabulous as always.!
Eve, Helena and. Cathy are all telling their story on Christmas Eve but there’s a twist. Eve is in present day 2023 her mum Helena is telling her story from 1998 and her mum Cathy from 1968.
As always Shari has mischievous grannies, a middle aged crisis and of course someone having their biggest revelation. Cathy is funny and warm, Helena is warming and Eve is hilarious. I love that Val Murray got a wee cameo too!
Always well written and Shari will have you reading to the wee hours , I’d pair this with a hot chocolate and cosy blanket for the perfect winter escape.

I have loved all the previous "One" stories by Shari Low so was pleased to gave been gifted this latest copy by Netgalley and Boldwood Books, I'm under no obligation to leave my review
Shari writes novels that you can relate to, her characters are realistic, with the normal everyday issues that we all have. The "One" series all take place over one day and are lighthearted and heartwarming.
This novel takes place over 24 hours on Christmas Eve and centres on 3 generations of the McLean family.
In 1968 Cathy is preparing for the birth of her first child but meets a face from the past
1993 and workaholic Helena is celebrating her birthday eve and looking forward to an evening with her parents and boyfriend Bruce
2023 and Eve has discovered devastating news from a DNA test.
The actions of the past have consequences in the future and this comes back to a women over the space of the day.
I loved the relationship between Eve and her Gran Cathy, Cathy has some real funny one liners.
A great read at any time, not just for Christmas

SO Many thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to rradOne Christmas Eve by Shari Low. 100 Beezillion gold stars for this wonderful, magical Christmas story. I loved it to the moon and back.

I have read Shari Low before and loved them and One Christmas Eve was no exception. I loved the concept behind this book of three women over three decades - the way the story is told will hook you right from the start and you won't want to stop reading until you reach the end - but then you will only want to read more!
I loved this story, loved the characters and can't wait to read it all over again.

Oh Shari, you've done it again, another wonderful story set on three different Christmas Eve's absolutely jammed pack full of love, emotion, friends and family, I look forward to your next story with excitement

Outstanding book from the incredibly talented author Shari Low. As with all of this author’s previous books this story takes the reader by the hand and introduces them to the story and lives of three generations of a family, documenting their lives on each Christmas Eve and telling their stories.
The three women are gran, mum and daughter, all of whom are completely different and their tales of love, loss and betrayal unfold across the years.
A beautiful story and so well told you will be hooked. The characters are developed and you will feel their joy and sadnesses by the end. I would love to see a sequel to this to see how their stories have evolved.
Highly recommend read.
Many thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Three generations, three love stories, and it's a real tearjerker. The author, Shari Low, has a great writing style that had me laughing one minute and crying the next. The story is about three women from different generations named Cathy, Helena, and Eve and their experiences with love. Even though they all have unique stories, love is something they all share. Whether they're searching for love or have lost it, their stories are relatable and touching. I easily connected with all three women, and the lessons about love woven into the story are truly beautiful. If you're looking for a light read with a powerful message about love, this book is for you.
Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for letting me read this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

A unique format of living through one day in 3 very different decades. Mother, daughter and granddaughter. Each living in the decade where they made choices that rippled down to the next generation. Love found love lost heartbreak and joy all linked in unimaginable ways.
A master storyteller that has never disappointed me. Love books by Shari.
Enjoy this book I definitely did.

I love Shari Low’s books and while I wouldn’t say this was one of her best, there was still a storyline to it and relatable characters that you wanted a happy ending for!

In the enchanting pages of this book, the magic of Christmas comes alive in a way that's both nostalgic and utterly captivating. [Author's Name] has masterfully captured the spirit of the season, delivering a heartwarming tale that warms the soul and brings a cheerful twinkle to even the coldest winter nights.
From the very first page, I was transported to a world adorned with twinkling lights, snow-covered landscapes, and the joyous laughter of the holiday season. The characters felt like old friends, each carrying their hopes, dreams, and a hint of holiday wonder. Their journeys through love, friendship, and personal growth were beautifully intertwined with the festive backdrop, making for a story that's as comforting as a cup of hot cocoa by the fireplace.
This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and I would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

I just loved this book.
First loves, last loves, cheating, one night stands, heartbreak, family, and and friendship dominate this feel good story about finding love after all. After being devastated by finding out her dad is not her biological dad Eve is on a quest to find out her mom’s secrets. One day with three generations taking turns telling their stories add up to one terrific book.

Shari Low is a name that keeps on appearing and popping up several times a year. Each time she comes back with something equal magical and there is no different in One Christmas Eve. In a twist to her normal book it tells the tale of Cathy, her daughter Helena and Eve and the events that happened over one Christmas night years, decades apart.
Snuggle up because this is the perfect Christmas Eve book to read when you want or need to shut the world out.

I bloomin loved this book, thanks so much for the advanced copy. Don’t wait until Christmas to read it- read it now!
I was so drawn into the main characters, Cathy, Helena and Eve and desperately wanted to read more about their individual stories. There was laughter and tears. It’s a huge recommendation from me- 5 stars

Eve is planning to celebrate her mother's birthday on Christmas Eve, when she gets a DNA test result showing that her father is not her real father.
The story then unfolds with three storylines from three generations, told from Christmas Eve.
This is a really good book. I rarely cry over books but this one brought a few tears to my eyes.

OMG I definitely needed my tissues, just loved this book.
It is set two days over Christmas over three decades with three generations of family with plenty of secrets and how changes made in the past can be corrected in the present.
Eve is about to celebrate her mothers birthday on Christmas eve when she gets her DNA results saying her father is not her father, should she ask her grandmother who she has a special bond with if she has an answer?
Just loved the story , the characters and the way the plot turned out, just couldn`t put it down, would definitively recommend.
