This was a first time read for me by this author and it definitely won't be my last. It's a sweet and charming winter romance. Charlie travels from London to New York to spend Christmas with her boyfriend Harry. But upon arriving, he is nowhere to be found and she can't get in touch with him. She has no idea what happened to him and sets out to find him, fearing the worst. Along the way she meets Pete, who offers to help her with her quest. Charlie is all alone in New York and Pete does his best to help her feel less alone. This time in New York gives Charlie an opportunity to take a good look at herself and what she wants. I enjoyed following her on journey of self-discovery as she goes through heartbreak and ultimately finds love.
The story was well-written story and kept my interest till the end. Filled with heartbreak, hope, and love the story will pull at your heartstrings and take you through a variety of emotions. A lovely winter story to read by the fireplace enjoying a nice cup of cocoa! I look forward to reading more of this author's work.

After the initial pages, I found myself not connecting with the story or characters, so I decided to pass on this book. Did not finish

This was CUTE!
This was not spicy….and that’s OK.

Charlie and Pete have a meet-cute but bad timing for any romance but become friends and they’re cute together, they’re a little gun shy about new romance and as a reader we find out why for each of them and so you understand and feel the hesitation.. there isn’t a long drawn out feeling of will they or won’t they but more of a when and how will they.
Some of the changes between the two main characters wasn’t clear when reading and so when it switched from one point of to another I had to read back when I realised the switch but this was most likely just due to my ARC (I hope). And it was just a line or sentence so nothing major.

I received this book as an ARC and have provided my honest opinion

In this book ,Charlie's arrival in New York turns into a heart-wrenching experience when her boyfriend is nowhere to be found. Despite initial panic, Charlie bravely decides to take control of her destiny, setting the stage for a journey of self-discovery. Moping over her ghosted boyfriend leads her to a chance encounter with Pete, a tall, dark, and handsome stranger. The narrative beautifully unfolds as Charlie befriends Pete, transforming her lonely experience into one filled with hope and connection. The story transitions between New York and London, showcasing Charlie's growth and resilience after dealing with heartbreak. The author creates an enchanting holiday read that captures the spirit of love, self-examination, and the magic of New York, making it a tender and intricate tale of finding the love meant for you.

Fairytale of New York is a festive read. It is so much more than your simple rom com. The flow of the writing makes the story capture the reader immediately and keep their attention throughout.

I thoroughly enjoyed my introduction to Zoë Folbigg and will be seeking out more of their work soon.

Thank you NetGalley, Zoë Folbigg, and Boldwood books for this ARC.

I was drawn to this book immediately because of the cover. New York at Christmas is a magical time. It gives a very detailed tour of NY and some tourist spots and would be a good read for someone either missing NY or planning to travel there. It started out like a thriller with lots of blood and I was very confused by it, thats the reason it’s not starts like i wanted it to be.. I really found it a little unrealistic that a good and confident person like Charlie would be with a jerk like Harry for 16 years. Things just didn't add up for me. I wanted to love it more than I did.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

This the first book I've read by Zoe Folbigg and it was such a sweet story. Perfect for a cozy winter day.
Charlie, a fiercely independent, loving, and caring successful make up artist to the stars, is super excited about going to New York to spend Christmas with her boyfriend. As luck would have it, she is left stranded with no way to contact her boyfriend and with no address to go to. Luckily she has an address for a rental apartment where she can stay.
Wanting to make the most of her stay and to find out what happened to her boyfriend, Charlie is determined to find out the truth. Along the way, there is a chance encounter with a gorgeous New Yorker that may be her saving grace.

While I enjoyed the story of New York during Christmas, festivities and celebrations with friends and family, I did not understand why Charlie wouldn't have the address of where her boyfriend was staying, especially since she flew all the way from London, England to be with him. Also, I did not like the boyfriend at all! I mean who behaves that way?

Overall it was a wonderful Christmas story and I would recommend it to those who enjoy stories that warm your heart.

A heartwarming read about the budding friendship (and more) between Charlie and Pete. Both of them with their own baggage. Relatable, heartbreaking, funny, messy, and romantic. Perfect for cozying up during these chilly months

I got this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I always love a nice cosy Christmas book and this one has it all in a perfect setting and loveable characters This the first book I've read by Zoe Folbigg and I will definitely be reading more as I loved this one.
Charlie is excited to be spending Christmas with her boyfriend in NYC but when he fails to turn up to meet her at the airport as planned she is devastated but determined to be strong and enjoy her time in the state. A chance encounter with a handsome stranger is the start of something beautiful and takes the reader through every emotion along the way. Brilliant book.

I'm finishing the readings that I couldn't finish in December and this is one of them. I think the plot caught me and I feel like it was going so well until I lost the course of the story. Of course, most of the book was very exciting to read and the characters were good in my opinion.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the review copy.

A very cute romance set in New York and London. The couple had chemistry, the ex was an idiot - what else could you want?

I was drawn to this book immediately because of the cover. New York at Christmas is a magical time. It gives a very detailed tour of NY and some tourist spots and would be a good read for someone either missing NY or planning to travel there. It started out like a thriller with lots of blood and I was very intrigued. Part I was great and I was very invested in what would happen to Charlie. Part II and III dragged on, and while I loved the magnetic chemistry between Charlie and Pete, it just took too long to get anywhere. I really found it a little unrealistic that a good and confident person like Charlie would be with a jerk like Harry for 16 years. Things just didn't add up for me. I wanted to love it more than I did.

A story told in three parts
Involving a couple of healing broken hearts
There's also adventure as well as a chance
For a delightful, unexpected romance!

Charlie Brown is off to New York for Christmas and more
Staying with her boyfriend who works there and to explore.
However, he's not at the airport, there's no message or call
She's worried and doesn't know what to do at all.

A mystery to be solved discovering what's happened to Harry?
Should she fly back home or should she tarry?
Maybe she'll get help from her new friend, Pete
Before giving in and admitting defeat?

A story of betrayal by more than one
Of secrets and exploration, with things to be done.
From New York to London - and back again, maybe...
How will it work out - please read it to see!

Despite the worries, there's laughter and romance,
Showing resilience gives Charlie more than a chance.
Family celebrations and lots of love, too,
Though nothing goes straight forward for these two!

A festive read, whatever the time of year
With a lovely ending to make you want to cheer!
For my complementary copy of this book, I say thank you,
As I share with you this, my honest review.
