Every Camilla Isley book I’ve read makes me smile. Her characters are extremely likable and she does her research on her plotlines.

This delightful enemies-to-lovers rom-com revolves around a self-made Instagram fitness phenomenon and a billionaire mogul who start out as rivals with an undeniable attraction toward each other. Gabriel’s broody grunts and determination to win over Blake are endearing and I respect that he did not give up. Blake’s trust issues are understandable considering her ex gaslighted her and tried to ruin her care, but she cannot resist Gabriel’s charm and persistence leading to a beautiful culmination. However, Gabriel’s common practice of taking control of a desperate situation causes a big rift that could make or break their relationship.

The witty dialogue between Blake and Gabriel is my favorite part of this book. I was hooked from the start with Blake’s hilarious Post-It note to Gabriel’s pocket sending him on a wild goose chase and watching the swoony Gabriel pull out all the stops to show Blake how much he cares for her. I love that Blake is a smart, sassy, young entrepreneur who loves her job and takes no prisoners. It’s what makes her such a good match with Gabriel who has the same principles. His love for Blake is incredibly sweet and the things he does to prove it are a bit over the top, but noteworthy.

With that being said, I found the ending disappointing and unneeded considering Blake and Gabriel wanted to concentrate on each other first and wait on other things. It doesn’t always have to be the status quo every time.

Gabriel’s brother Thomas is the star of the show. He’s hilarious and loves his brother so much and he’s a good friend to Blake as well. Blake’s friend Marissa is a wonderful supporter as she provides sound advice to her best friend. Blake’s ex Justin is a sleazeball and I enjoy how Gabriel and Thomas have Blake’s back and would like nothing more than to punch Justin in the face.

If you adore charming and delightful romantic comedies with exceptional storylines, give this book a try.

Thank you to Ms. Isley for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

Thanks to NetGalley for the change to read this: I REALLY enjoyed this!
Blake is a fitness sensation on instagram and has amassed an empire as a female billionaire while Gabriel is a fitness sensation from the real estate perspective. This story covers so much more than a typical romance: it deep dives into navigating IPO's, entrepreneur upstarts, women in business, old-school 'boy' mentality, and even more. I thought this had one of the best B storyline setups of any romance I've read in awile, particularly in the 'enemies to lovers' trope: the characters and their business world were really well fleshed out. I could read another book JUST about Blake's rise to stardom.
In terms of the romance: its sweet and cheesy. Gabriel is a bit over the top but it really works. Blake's waffling 'will I won't I' never felt super dramatic, but still felt believable. I also really liked that it was closed door romance: that just helped to keep this more about the B story line than about the sexual tension.
All in all: big fan!!

This was, overall such a fun read! Enemies to lovers, he falls first and falls real hard, both fitness empire billionaires (her an influencer, him the real estate side). There was plenty of banter and chemistry and I feel like this went a bit deeper than the other books I've read from this author. (I'm also now hoping the next book in the series is about Thomas and Mila).

There was a couple things I didn't enjoy - there was a lot of business corporate speak, included almost text book like that didn't quite fit with the authors writing style. And the third act break/resolution I feel like didn't quite address the how much of a calamity the reason for the break was in the first place. Yes it played on one characters insecurities but it SO far above and beyond that the very very rushed resolution didn't quite fit. Also the epilogue was very choppy and while cute didn't feel like it quite fit the characters.

But all in all, this definitely checks some boxes for enemies to lovers, work place adjacent hallmark-y romcom, cinnamon roll of an MMC and a whole bunch of laugh out loud moments!

Thank you Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC in exchange for my review!

Blake has had to work hard for what she has. While Gabriel comes from a family of money who now opens another state of the art gym by her but she won’t let her gym get pushed aside.
I like the banter that went on between Blake and Gabriel you could feel the unlinking attraction forming. This is a great enemies to lovers story. I will be reading more from this author for sure thank you @netgalley

With razor sharp dialogue and a sizzling enemies-to-lovers, this "he falls first" romance is hugely entertaining. From the first interaction, when Blake turns the tables on Gabriel and his reaction is nothing but respect, I was completely hooked. The NYC setting is always a favorite as well.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

What a fun rom com this proved to be
With a feisty entrepreneur not trusting men, you'll see.
She's learnt the hard way to be independent, too,
Not to trust billionaire men whatever you do!

When her off the cuff remark about a billionaire is shared
She never expected that he'd be worried or cared.
Nor had she anticipated him visiting or assuming she's a man
So sending him to see her Dad is her next plan!

This is the start of a feud between the two
But he wants to date her, whatever should she do?
He's charismatic, fun and able to laugh at himself, too,
So she's perplexed and unsure just what should she do?

With business, secrets, manipulations and romance
This is a fun rom com that is well worth a chance!
It had me laughing out loud at some encounters between the two
To break down barriers and have a chance what should he do?

So many favourite escapades between these two
But you need to read it yourself, I'll not share them in my review!
For my complementary copy of this book, I say thank you,
I throughly enjoyed reading it and this is my honest review.

Blake is hardworking and has built up where she is from the very bottom, through sheer hard work, but when she meets Gabriel, whom she feels does not know what hard work is and criticises him publicly this will lead to a feud that both will need to learn from.

This is one of my go-to authors, and they have done it again. I love the flow and pace of how Isley writes, giving us an independent and strong female main character whom I thought was realistic.

This was a really enjoyable read and I will continue to read this author as they do not disappoint.

I have read a few book by Camilla and I adore her writing style and I get lost in her stories. I love the fact the characters in this book are headstrong and female empowerment runs through this novels. I love the chemistry between the characters and I like the fact they have ups and downs between them, it feels so real and authentic. I was so sad when this book ended and was desperate for more.

Boldwood Books Readalong.

I recently enjoyed reading this romantic comedy that was full of fun and excitement. The book had a perfect ending that left me feeling happy and satisfied. The author, Isley, created a lighthearted and enjoyable atmosphere that made it a great uplifting read. I found both of the main characters to be relatable and likeable, and I especially appreciated Gabriel's role as the main character. While the plot was predictable at times, the humour throughout the book more than made up for this.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this genre, and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Not in a billion years by Camilla Isley

4 out of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. I loved that Blake was an independent businesswoman and was working so hard to build her empire. It seemed to be a very accurate representation of how social media contact creators end up building their businesses.
I liked Gabriel but I did find some of the things he did very annoying. He seemed to think Blake was some damsel in distress and his actions made everything worse.
I’d recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good romance book, it was a quick and easy read.
Thank you for giving me an ARC copy

Camilla Isley just keeps outdoing herself with every book she pens!

"Not in a Billion Years" introduces us to Blake Avery, a self-made fitness sensation turned billionaire, and Gabriel Mercer, a formidable business mogul in his own right. Their worlds collide in a spectacular clash when Gabriel takes offense to a comment by Blake in a national newspaper. This chance encounter sets the stage for a captivating love story that tugs at the heartstrings. Blake is faced with a monumental decision: should she risk everything she has worked so hard for and give love another chance, or should she take the safer route, guarding her once-broken heart from a man who seems like a walking, breathing heartbreak?

My journey through Camilla Isley's literary works has been a delightful one and "Not in a Billion Years" is no different because it has truly left its mark on my heart. The characters, Blake and Gabriel, are both strong-willed and headstrong, making them an irresistible couple to root for. What's even more impressive is their shared commitment to health and fitness, which adds a unique and engaging dimension to their characters and their story.

Gabriel's character is a standout in the best possible way. He's perfectly imperfect, making him incredibly relatable. He's the kind of leading man readers can't help but fall for, thanks to his blend of realism and idealism. In contrast, Blake's character serves as an inspiration to anyone who has ever faced adversity. She proves that hard work and determination can lead to success, even without the privileges of those born into old money.

What truly sets Camilla Isley apart as an author is her ability to craft characters who feel like old friends. As I followed Blake and Gabriel's journey, it felt like I was cheering on two close friends who were navigating the complexities of love. Camilla's storytelling is so immersive that I found myself eagerly turning the pages, hoping for the best for this dynamic duo.

As I reach the end of "Not in a Billion Years," I can't help but look forward to what Camilla Isley has in store for her readers next. I'm especially excited to dive into Marissa's story and, eventually, Thomas' happily ever after. I have no doubt that these upcoming tales will be as charming and captivating as "Not in a Billion Years." With Camilla Isley at the helm, there's no doubt that her readers are in for more literary treats that will warm their hearts and leave them with a sense of pure bookish bliss.

Not in a Billion Years is the first book in a new series by Camilla Isley. Blake Avery has done what few have! She has reached the unicorn level for a startup with her online video presence and new state of the art gym in Manhattan. A self made businesswoman, she has unfortunately made some not so flattering references to a media decreed rival, Gabriel Mercer. When Gabriel comes to take exception to her comments he makes unfortunate suppositions when he enters her office unannounced. And that sets the stage for a series of humorous events.

As the story plays out, Blake and Gabriel are thrown together repeatedly, in everyday as well as unusual circumstances. One such event actually gives the pair an opportunity to really get acquainted. Not that this will solve all, but it absolutely does start the ball rolling. That is until he does the one thing she has asked him not to do and all goes awry. What a special way Gabriel tries to make amends!

This is a special story told with much heart. I enjoyed the strong, well developed characters, the interesting settings, and the laugh aloud humor of the story. I very much enjoyed this book and do recommend it! I also look forward to reading the books in this series yet to come!

This book 😍. I loved Gabriel and Blake so much! The way they banter and tease each other was perfect. I was smiling and laughing my way through this one. Then the prom scene 🥹. I highly recommend you grab the newest from Camilla Isley!

I am a massive fan of Camilla Isley – having already read and loved The Love Proposal, Home for Christmas, Fool Me Twice at Christmas and You May Kiss the Bridesmaid, I knew I was going to love Not in a Billion Years just as much – and I was right! The story follows main character Blake – she has worked hard for everything in her life, and the success she has achieved so far with her fitness business is all down to the hard work she has put in.

This is why Blake also has a real dislike for one of her competitors – Gabriel Mercer. He might be one of the biggest names in the fitness world and set women’s pulses soaring more than a grueling HIIT workout, but he grew up in a billionaire dynasty and had everything handed to him – or so Blake thinks. So when Blake publicly calls him on how ‘easy’ he has had it – she starts a feud between the two that seemingly neither of them is willing to back down from.

Despite their rivalry, fate has other plans in store for Blake and Gabriel. As they find themselves repeatedly pushed together in the competitive fitness industry, sparks begin to fly in unexpected ways. The more time they spend together, the more they realise that there may be more to each other than meets the eye – not in a billion years did Blake think she could ever fall for someone like Gabriel.

Not in a Billion Years is not just a love story, but also a journey of self-discovery. Both Blake and Gabriel must confront their preconceived notions and learn to let go of their pride in order to open their hearts to the possibility of something more. Prepare to be swept away by the irresistible charm of Blake and Gabriel’s journey from enemies to lovers.

I have loved every single book I’ve read by this author and this one was no different. I love how her women are strong minded and always front and centre as opposed to being a damsel in distress.

Blake Avery is a brilliant character to get behind and while Gabriel did have a few red flags with his behaviour, it was all for good reason, well in his eyes at least. Blake certainly doesn’t let him get away with any of it either and one scene really made me chuckle. If you know you know!

An enemies to lovers trope with two people who think they are the complete opposites but actually have more in common than they think. The business side of things makes this a smart but fun read packed with humour and just the right amount of sizzle and spice. If I wasn’t such a lazy queen Gabriel might even make me consider joining his gym, sorry Blake.

Some brilliant supporting characters with Blake’s best friend Marissa, Gabriel’s assistant Mila and my personal favourite his brother Thomas. So I’m over the moon that there are more books to come.

This was an excellent enemies-to-lovers romance with lovable characters.

The banter and flirtation between Blake and Gabriel kept the story lively and full of funny moments. Sometimes, I wondered whether they would end up together because Blake is pretty headstrong. Good thing Gabriel is persistent!

I also loved the relationship between Gabriel and his brother - Thomas was a true pesky little brother but, overall, seemed to have the best intentions.

I wasn’t a massive fan of the Epilogue, but I understand why the story ended the way it did. While there wasn’t much of Blake’s best friend, Marissa, in this book, I can’t wait to see what happens in Marissa’s upcoming story. And even though I always say I’m not a series reader, I’m even more interested in Thomas’ story since he was such a fun part of Gabriel’s family interaction.

Not in a Billion Years is recommended for those who enjoy:
💞 Enemies to Lovers
👠 Red carpet events
😏 Banter galore
🔍 Scavenger hunts
🚪 Closed-door romance

Firstly, thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this fantastic book.

I loved this book, it was funny, quirky and the epitome of enemies (per se) to lovers. The main protagonists, Blake and Gabriel were extremely likeable, as was Thomas (Gabriel's brother). I 'm not going to lie, I was waiting for there to be a side romance between Thomas & Blakes best friend Marissa, but no, however Marissa got her dream too (promise no spoiler). I'm looking forward to reading their stories after this book (hopefully there'll be some 🤞)
The story has a bit of a pride & prejudice vibe going on and, like Elizabeth & Darcy, the chemistry is a sizzling.

It was funny, especially Gabriel's romantic gestures particularly his participation in an advanced ballet class taught by Blake, all to get her attention. Then Blakes 'mad' dancercise, not forgetting the Tik Tok mishap - you can see it happening IRL, which makes it all the funnier.

I liked how Isley tells the story from each characters point of view, including text exchanges. It was also interesting re: Blake being embedded in social media and Gabriel steering clear of it and not understanding some of the jargon etc. They basically learn from one another.

In conclusion, a fab read from page one. It's one of those books you can finish in one sitting. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

For the love of BANTER!! I loved this. It is a closed door romance which isn't my usual go to but this was so sweet. I ADORED that Blake stuck to her guns and actually made Gabriel work for it. So many romances I find the FMC gives in so quickly. This felt so realistic. The romance and just overall sweetness from Gabriel was endearing. Overall I just enjoyed the entire thing.

Read as part of a readalong.

Social media darling and self made fitness guru Blake Avery is used to being underestimated by the male dominated business tycoons. When she meets rival Gabriel Mercer for the first time, he's everything she imagined, everything she despises. Would she ever consider going out with such an entitled and arrogant man? Not in a billion years! But as fate keeps pushing them together (sometimes with a little help) she starts to think she may have been wrong about him all along.
These two have such strong personalities it's easy to see how they would clash. Especially when Blake is determined to make it on her own and Gabriel has a strong urge to protect no matter what.. I love how he falls first and tries so hard to convince her to give him a chance. Overall I thought this book was a lighthearted and funny enemies to lovers romance with a strong FMC and a well deserved HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
