This story was a little confusing at first because I wasn't sure who was who regarding gender but once I got going it was terrific! The right amount of love, confusion, heartbreak and understanding with lots of humour along the way

Not in a Billion Years is one of my favorite romances of the year, if not ever. I love enemies to lovers with all my heart, so I knew this would be a win for me. I really adored how the FMC, Blake Avery, was very sure of herself. Even though she was very guarded, she really had a good sense of self, and I appreciated that she didn’t need Gabriel to have confidence in herself. Also, Gabriel is perfect! (And not just because we have similar names!) I won’t spoil anything, but oh. My. God. He is the sweetest and kindest book boyfriend, and I simply will never back down on that. Also, for you Succession fans, Gabriel’s brother Thomas is SUCH a Roman Roy. AS for pacing, Camilla Isley shines; the plot moves quickly without making the mistake of telling vs. showing. Despite my busy schedule, I zoomed through this book, especially the last 20 percent. I felt like I just could NOT put it down! Be sure to pick up this book when it releases this week!

“I need to go home and perform an exorcism on myself.”

This book had me laughing out loud from page one all of the way to the end! Wonderful characters, over the top gestures and a perfect ending. I can’t say more!

By far my favourite Camilla Isley book! I know I haven’t read all that many of them yet but I have read several in the last month, and this one is far and away above the others! And I’ve loved them all.

Enemies to lovers, two rich fitness empires clashing with each other, but one is really more into the real estate of the buildings for the gyms than the gyms themselves - fighting against feelings when they actually meet in person when he confronts her after she insults him in an interview about not being a self-made billionaire, while she earned every penny from the moment she started her fitness courses online in high school and is now opening a physical location.

The two have a beautiful love-hate relationship and the story the whole way through is Camilla Isley at her storytelling and writing best! I completely and totally recommend this book to everyone around - one of my new faves!

I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Boldwood Books, and this is my honest feedback.

Let me just stay upfront this is one of the funniest Rom COM I have ever read. When Gabriel Mercer reads that another entrepreneur Blake Avery said he wasn’t a self-made billionaire he is incensed when he goes to the entrepreneurs gym to confront him he finds a woman in the office and thinking it is “Mr. Avery‘s“ daughter he tells her he wants to speak to her father and so she clarifies by asking him so you want to speak to my father? And he replies yes and so she gives him the address to her dad‘s pizzeria in the Bronx. Needless to say soon after arriving and speaking to Mr. Avery himself, Gabriel knows he got it all wrong and that the newspaper mistakingly referred to Blake Avery is a guy. This will all would be the first of many lessons that Blake teaches Gabriel and some of them or hard lessons but the biggest lesson of all is the best one of all! Oh I love this book I love the scene with the Aston Martin… There is so much to Love about this but not to mention the Mercer family themselves his brother Thomas Blakes dad I just love la blah of this book this is one of the best romcoms I have ever read in my life… EVER!!! I don’t believe I have ever read a book by Camila Isly before but I will definitely be looking for her books in the future. I love that in this book she was the grump and he was lovelorn this was such a great great book and I know I said that but I absolutely love that it is a definite five star read! I want to thank Boldwood books AnNet Galley for my free ark copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

This was my first Camilla Isley novel and I can't wait to read more!

Blake Avery is a twenty-six year old business owner. After making workout videos in her bedroom as a teenager, she is now the founder of a fitness business with a fancy gym in Manhattan. After being asked about Gabriel Mercer, another giant in the fitness industry, she shuts all comparisons down. She worked from the bottom and is completely self-made whilst Gabriel came from a rich family which helped open doors for him. They are not the same.

When Gabriel gets wind of this, he goes to confront Blake, thinking Blake is a middle-aged man. He is surprised to discover who Blake really is.

I really loved the plot of this one and you could feel all of the heightened emotions as you read. For me, I felt like some things happened a bit too quickly but at the same time, there can be such a thing as too slow a burn. It was super cute and Gabriel Mercer just felt like a perfect book boyfriend!

4.5*

Honestly, I thought this was a really fun enemies to lovers romcom. The banter was amazing, I absolutely loved it. I even loved the side characters Thomas and Marissa! The main characters were great! Blake is a strong, independent woman who self-made her business from the ground up at age 16! Whilst Gabriel made his business from nothing also, he did have an easier upbringing with his family name relating to old money. I loved the will they won't they moments all throughout the book, the sibling fighting, all the sexual tension and innuendos. Seriously, if you enjoy this trope, check this one out.

She's worked her ass off…. He's a nepo baby.

NOT IN A BILLION YEARS by Camila Isley is the perfect light-hearted romance with plenty of grit, hard work and sweet moments.

I loved how Blake is a total boss who owns her power. Gabriel had some unrealistic moments but he was really trying to be a good person which I loved. All the characters were really fleshed out, I particularly loved Gabriel's brother, Thomas - hopefully we'll be reading his book in the future!

Read for:
🥊Enemies to lovers
❤️He falls first
💰Billionaire romance
🔥Mild spice
⭐ 4 stars

Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

One of my favourite things about Camilla Isley’s writing is the sharp, quick banter between her characters. She absolutely nails the essence of romantic comedy, and each book would be easy to imagine in film. This one was no different and I genuinely laughed out loud as Blake and Gabriel traded insults.
Whilst I can’t identify with a fitness mogul, I can certainly get on board with a strong female lead. Blake has confidence by the bucket load and has no problem handling the charms or barbs from Gabriel. I really did love Blake’s character, although I certainly cringed at some of her decisions. In all honesty, in a world dominated by patronising men, I would probably be equally prickly when threatened.
Gabriel is slightly more complex as he was born into a ‘silver spoon’ lifestyle which means his personal successes are often attributed to his upbringing rather than his own hard work. Despite this, he is determined to prove himself in his own right and won’t tolerate any accusations of unfair advantage or nepotism.
The pace of the story is fast, and the pages flew by as I followed their transformation from enemies to potential lovers. It’s a format that rarely fails to please, but this one is handled perfectly and had me from page one.
I do like well-developed characters and as the story progressed, I really got to know them. There’s also potential for another linked instalment as Blake has a feisty best friend and Gabriel’s brother could be an ideal match…

Ms Isley, this is your best book yet. This tops all of your books that I have read.

The opening chapter sucked me right in and prepped the way for the fireworks between these two. You can feel the sparks between these two literally off the page.

I enjoyed it and the author made it so captivating and interesting that I had no inkling as to which direction the story will go.

MGM has successfully dethroned my No 1 book boyfriend. He is a cinnamon roll guy who takes his role seriously albeit very seriously.

I love how the book celebrates families- from Blake’s relationship with her parents to MGM’s affection for Thomas and their parents. Even the relationship between the elder Mercer got me.

I look forward to reading Marissa’s story and I do know that there is a story with Thomas.

I will recommend if you love a strong female lead/cinnamon roll guys with lots of banters, angst and swoon worthy moments.

I adored this book! It was such an amazing feel good, enemies to lovers book that I couldn’t put it down!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Blake Avery is a self made fitness sensation. Gabriel Mercer is one of the biggest names who grew up in a billionaire dynasty.

When Blake calls out Gabriel for saying he’s also self made, she sparks a feud that neither of them want to give in too. When sparks begin to fly between the two, Blake finds herself trying to stay as far away from Gabriel as she promised herself that she wouldn’t make the same mistake as she did with her ex.

However, with Gabriel trying to spend as much time as possible with Blake it’s hardly a surprise that she begins to fall for his easy going charm.

Camilla Isley did such an amazing job with these two main characters and I love how each chapter switched pov between the two of them. I couldn’t help but smile when I was reading because of the sheet joy they brought out in each other.

Thank you Camilla Isley, Netgalley and Boldwood Books for this advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review. Not in a Billion Years comes out on September 6th and I really recommend getting stuck into this one!

Blake Avery has made her fortune as a fitness guru, through hard work whilst Gabriel Mercer has come from from family wealth. So when Blake publicly comments on his background, Gabriel is incensed but when he realises that Blake is a female and a beautiful one at that, he dies all that he can to spend time with her. Soon, Blake finds her initial ideas about Gabriel may not be true.
Both Gabriel and Blake are determined characters who struggle to let someone else have control. Whilst Gabriel is persistent and knows his feelings, Blake is more resistant and also quite prickly in nature. An enjoyable, behind closed doors romance.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I enjoyed reading this book.

We meet Blake and Gabriel. They become enemies are an article is published where Blake takes hits out at Gabriel and his fitness empire.

Blake has worked hard for a long time to make her dreams a reality, whereas Gabriel is from a family who’s got lots of money.

After they've had lots of arguments and bickering, Gabriel’s finds that he likes Blake and does his best to make her like him, but his efforts aren’t rewarded.

When they end up together at a work retreat, things change when they spend time together.

But, will that stay the same when they’re back in Manhattan? Especially as they both are owners of their fitness empires.

I highly recommend this book.

A cute read! I was invested in Blake & Gabriel’s story 🥰

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5
Spice: 🌶️ 1/5

Blake Avery is a self-made, super successful entrepreneur, taking the fitness space by storm online, and now opening her own gym. Her biggest rival - Gabriel Mercer. He’s a real estate billionaire set out to purchase all the prime locations, and open gyms there.

After an article is published with Blake publicly criticizing Gabriel, they finally meet. Sparks fly immediately, but Blake isn’t so willing to give in to that attraction - she’s got a business to focus on! That doesn’t stop Gabriel from doing everything in his power to get her to give him a chance.

I call this rivals/enemies-ish to lovers because it’s one-sided, and once they actually meet everything changes.
It was interesting to see the owner side of start-up companies, how they get their funding and how they get to be where they are.

Gabriel is persistent (at times a little TOO much), though it all comes from good intentions. Blake is a strong woman, holding her ground, until she just can’t deny the growing attraction any longer.

What you’ll find in Not in a Billion Years:
⭐️ Rivals/Enemies-ish to Lovers
⭐️ Insta-Lust
⭐️ Both entrepreneurs
⭐️ Both billionaires
⭐️ He falls first
⭐️ Different worlds (growing up)
⭐️ Forced proximity
⭐️ Slow burn
⭐️ Dual POV/first person

Looking forward to both Marissa & Thomas' stories! They were both super strong side characters.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an advanced readers copy. All opinions are my own.

So so freaking good!!!!

Incredibly amazing! An academic rivals to lovers romcom about to people too similar to each other and the incredible and oh so sweet path he will follow to prove her that they are perfect for each other and he loves her always and forever. What starts as “she challenges me” turns into “no one will hurt her or put her life in peril” in way that it mot typical to men from dark romances but it is typical of a brooding man who turns out being the real golden retriever.
I loved this book. When I started reading it, I was not expecting how much I would have like it. Gabriel and Blake are amazing and while making me laugh out loud all throughout the book, they also managed to make me feel oh so swoony and happy and melting like jelly. Especially when he was speaking. He is so good. Scenes are fade to black by the way so … literally anyone can read this romcom and feel the same things I did! CHECK THIS OUT!

Such a great read!!
Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite romance tropes, but if you’re not a big fan of the trope, you’d probably still enjoy this book. The enemy portion wasn’t extensive, there was a shift to more pranks and one upmanship with the undercurrent of a budding romance.
Blake is an amazing character. I love to see stories of woman kicking butt and working hard to achieve their goals. Sometimes when there is a strong and successful female character they are depicted as cold, and I don’t like that at all. Blake wasn’t like that at all, she was caring and kind.
Gabriel was a great character too! His interest and attraction to Blake was almost immediate. And he acted in a way that you would expect from a rich successful business owner (no spoilers). I loved the lengths that Gabriel was willing to go to get Blake’s attention.

She's a self-made fitness sensation. He's a billionaire mogul. They're sworn enemies and rivals... aren't they?” Blake has revelry opened a gym after taking the social media side of the fitness industry by storm, her biggest competitor being Gabriel who is more focused on the real estate of his gym empire. The two don’t get along when they meet but Blake soon worms her way into Gabriel’s heart and he starts chasing after her when their chemistry becomes undeniable.

This is a great enemies to lovers romance and I loved the supporting characters too and would love to read more about Gabriel’s brother Thomas! This was fun and lighthearted and had the perfect slow burn that made the tension build up between both Gabriel and Blake.

Thank you to @netgalley, @theboldbookclub and @camillaisley for the opportunity to read this book and all opinions are my own. Not In A Billion Years releases September 6th!

*4.5

I had such a good time with this. Gabriel was obsessed with her and I loved it so much. He saw her one time and fell in love. I really liked that she took a while to get there simply because she was fighting it. They were so freaking cute!! I wanted a bit more from the ending which is why it isn't five stars. I also need a bonus chapter where she tells him that she's pregnant.

I received an arc through netgalley.
