I would like to thank netgalley and Boldwood Books for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed this one, and was happy to see some rethinking of the billionaire trope.
I lost interest in this one pretty quickly. I did not like the male MC at all and I could not ignore the red flags he was throwing around.
Also, it felt as if the female MC's whole personality was just business. The business talk bored me a lot

I thought this book started out great and was very well written. We have a strong female lead who is frankly kickass, starting her own business and absolutely killing it. And then there's our dark and broody billionaire. I loved the banter and the sexual tension between the MCs. The character development was great. But towards the end of the book it felt like their relationship was rushed. They just barely started being friendly with each other, and suddenly Gabriel is declaring his love for Blake. Plus, it was cringey how he had dated views and made assumptions about what Blake would want and then acted on it without seeking her input, such as when he had his assistant buy clothes for Blake to keep at his place or planned to trap her at his cabin. Otherwise it was well written.
He's used to getting everything he wants when he wants it while she has worked hard for everything she has earned and doesn't trust anyone, especially men. Is it a love match or is it an explosion of epic proportions waiting to happen. Witty banter, strong personalities, grand romantic gestures and a lot of trust issues makes this a funny read that will have you turning pages and reading as fast as you can to find out what hilarious antic is going to happen next! A bit of insta-love, second chances, enemies to lovers and more all swirled together to make for one very entertaining read! This book was the perfect choice to forget about the real world for a few hours while reading about billionaires at work and play! I always enjoy popping into whatever world the author has created for us to read so we can escape the real world for a few hours and this book was no exception! I can't wait to read more as this author knows how to bring the humor!
This is my second book by this author. It's a good story. Meet Blake and Gabriel. Blake is a hard woman to please and blames it all on her ex. Gabriel will stop at nothing to woo her over. Both characters did or said things that annoyed me a lot. More so, Blake, who was stubborn and refusing to fall in love. Then Gabriel, who staged a few things he shouldn't and taking it too far. The ending made this story for me. Finally, the ending I wanted and deserved. I can't wait to dive into the next read. It was such an easy read, which I could have easily devoured. Alot of business talk, but I could gloss over that. A well-deserved four stars from me.
Like the previous book I've read by Camilla Isley, Love to Hate You, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. It had wonderful tropes such as enemies to lovers, slow burn, forced proximity and billionaires. The chemistry and banter were so freaking good. Even though the book was about Blake and Gabriel I absolutely loved Thomas. I was debating on whether to give the book a 3 or 4 star but the banter was so good and I felt myself laughing as I was reading it. Overall a wonderful book! Can't wait for her next one!
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Sadly this is my least favourite book by this author so far. I found there was too much business talk, Gabriel was giving me too many red flags and money was no object and made me dislike rich people! I did love the other characters though, Thomas was great especially!
Camilla Isley is becoming one of my favourite authors who can pick me up on a difficult day.
Not In A Billion Years is a fast-paced romance read full of angst, banter, humour and steam. The protagonists, Gabriel and Blake, come from different sides of the business track but are driven, passionate and remarkable characters. The angst and the slow burn were a delight to read, and I loved their character growth. Both of them had to reflect on the stereotypes they formulated against one another, and it's always heartwarming when love blossoms and grows. I loved the background information on IPOs, share buybacks, and stakes for both characters. I can't wait to dig into the next book in the series!
Thank you, Boldwook Books & NetGalley, for giving me an ARC. This honest review is left voluntarily.
Not in A Billion Years was equal parts adorable and hilarious. Gabriel was HOT and Blake was a force to be reckoned with. I loved both of them from their first encounters- both as solo characters, but especially as a duo. Their flirting was spot on, as was their chemistry. This wasn't quite enemies to lovers since Gabriel fell for Blake right away, but the build up was very much appreciated.
I laughed out loud when Blake sent Gabriel to see her father at the pizza place (can I visit to get a slice?!) and again during the push up contest. Such a fun story with great characters. I can't wait to read more about Marissa's second chance love, not to mention Thomas, who was ADORABLE! Let's find him some love!
I truly enjoyed this book!
It starts with Blake accusing Gabriel of not being self-made like she is. Gabriel doesn’t take well to that! When he enters her gym, he thinks he is looking for a man! When he finds Blake, he thinks that her dad is the one running the gym and asks to speak to him!
Once Gabriel learns who Blake actually is, he is in love at first site! Well Blake can’t deny her feelings, she had a previous relationship that left her burned. So she struggles to trust.
Throughout the book we will see Gabriel try and sometimes fail at getting Blake.
You will laugh out loud, you will get upset, but all in all you will love the story!
I do wish it didn’t end the way it did but still a sweet happy ending!
This was a solid 3 star read. Blake and Gabriel are technically competitors but Gabriel doesn't know Blake until she makes a negative comment about him which gets his attention. 3 stars.

Blake and Gabriel are rivals in the fitness industry. Blake had to work from the ground up building her fitness brand and now opening her first gym in Manhattan. Gabriel had to work in other ways to building his strength training gyms and when Blake criticisms him through an article, Gabriel needs to know more about her. At first you would think that Gabriel is a jerk and a typical billionaire snob, but he is far from that. He is a nice guy and I love how her pursued Blake and wanted to make sure that she knew he was into her. Overall, a really cute, easy read!
What can I say? Another brilliant, easy reas by Isley. I am in awe of her ability to produce so many stories, which are always unique, gripping but full of those tropes we all love. I would love to hear an audiobook of this story as the dialogue is great!
just the right amount of angst for being enemies. He falls first and has some crazy ideas to get any chance in getting Blake alone to talk. A light quick read, with some great flirty banter and lots of angst.
I lost interest unfortunately around 60%. Not sure how this could be enemies to lovers when the MC pretty much falls for the FC right away. I just couldn't get into it.
This was such a nice surprise, I wasn't expecting to like it so much.
Not in a Billion Years follows Blake and Gabriel, two giants in the fitness industry. Blake is self-made and proud, meanwhile Gabriel is decided to prove his worth outside his family name. The two clash after Blake makes a comment about Gabriel's start in the business.
Although you'd expect Gabriel to be the type of unavailable, arrogant billionaire, he's nothing like that. He's open, nice, knows what he wants and goes after it.
I'm a big sucker of enemies to lovers trope, although this doesn't really apply here. Gabriel was very upfront about his crush on Blake, while she simply tried to deny it.
Something I really like in contemporary books is that authors learned that insta-love doesn't really work, so they give us nice slow burns instead. Although I feel like there might be something to work on there, because, once they get together, everything happens incredibly fast (marriage or kids or saying "I love you" after 2 seconds).
A thing that truly bothered me about this book was the author's pure denial to call it a vagina. There were plenty of other euphemisms, including a "bay-gina," "lady parts," or "down there." Please, it's 2023. Vagina is the correct term, it's not a bad word.
Plus, I really disliked that, despite the ongoing chemistry between the two, Blake ended up kind of a prude for no reason. She would even call it "sex."
Thomas and Marissa were interesting side characters that deserved more appearance and background stories.
Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for this copy.
Blake Avery is the high power girl boss you wish you could be, completely self made and inspirational. Bring in Gabriel Mercer and sparks fly, is he the entitled billionaire who thinks he can get whatever he want? Such a cute fun read, really enjoyed it.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for an ARC of this book!!
I really enjoyed this book. I particularly liked that both main characters had successful businesses, so they were more-or-less on equal footing financially. I fell in love with both main characters and thought their dialog was witty and believable. I was pulled into the story quickly and finished it within a day. It was a lot of fun and I highly recommend it.
Incredibly cheesy and easy to follow plot. The writing was okay but again, this was nothing new. Still a cute light read one can enjoy!

Every book I read by Camilla Isley becomes my new favorite, but ‘Not in a billion years’ takes the cake!! And the epilogue was just *chefs kiss* to such a fun story!!!
Blake and Gabriel, are instant enemies after a published article where Blake slams Gabriel and his fitness empire. Blake has been working hard for years to make her fitness dreams a reality, while Gabriel comes from a wealthy family. After a rocky start and lots of bickering, Gabriel decides he is drawn to Blake. As Gabriel tries to win her over, Blake does nothing but shut him out. But after a work retreat lands them together for a long weekend, they are able to spend some together, and let’s just say sparks fly. But will things be easy for them when they return to Manhattan? After all they both own fitness empires, so how is this going to work?
This book gave me ‘The Hating Game’ vibes, mixed with Chuck & Blair from Gossip Girl. The way Gabriel would not give up on Blake, and just waited patiently for her to come around, was swoon worthy. If you’re looking for a sweet and mildly spicy romance read, with laugh out loud moments, and characters you’ll fall in love with, this is the one!!!
